  • We had a second Fumoto Oil Drain Valve sent to us by Fumoto USA so we thought we'd test out this out by installing it on the 2019 Subaru WRX STi.
    As you'll be able to see in the video, these are a fantastic way of changing your oil without needing to replace the crush washer each time, and it makes draining a simple (and clean) job to do especially when combined with the Fumoto Hose Kit.
    These can be purchased both in the USA and internationally via Amazon:
    F105:

    Hose Kit:
    amzn.to/2XXVqaZ
    If you're looking to pick one up for your vehicle, head to the Fumoto website which has a handy page to help you pick out the best valve for your vehicle as there are many variants to choose from:

    here for the fumoto valve...the shorter filter height on the '170A is to aid in hood (bonnet) clearance on the FA20 engine since the filter resides on top vs the bottom on the EJ257. IIRC, all subarus use the same anti-drainback tech and bypass psi (kPa) rating. If you want more filter media w/the same specs, I've heard the Mazda RX-8 oil filter fits and provides some extra (artificial) oil capacity....good luck in your quest.

    2 years ago but just wanted to say the clip wasn't put on properly. Hope you figured it out. Just in case it comes off.

    Super helpful vid man. Could you link me to the floor jack you use? I’ve been having trouble finding a jack that can reach the front center jack point like that

    How well is it holding up now? Are there concerns with metal shaving build up or anything?

    • @OmniGarage
      @OmniGarage  Před 8 měsíci

      Holds up fine. No problem at all. Had this on for multiple years now. Never go back.

    The Fumoto is inferior to the Valvomax. Nice video.👍

    Is there not a risk of something snagging the release valve and emptying your oil pan while going down the highway?

    • @OmniGarage
      @OmniGarage  Před 2 lety +1

      Not that I have had so far. The release value twists in place with a safety clip.

      ...after just installing a fumoto valve on my wrx...if something snags the valve, I've got some serious other problems to worry about or I am on a road I had no business being on. On my '19 wrx, the nipple of the valve sits above (3/4"-1") the lowest part of the aluminum skid/engine protection plate.

      ...nicely internet insensitive of you Wayne....either slow the video playback speed down to a speed you can comprehend; or turn on captions. And with captions...maybe still slow the video down so you can read it the captions . I sware, ppl can't accept even the slightest bit of difference from them and the intolerance running amuck (amuck amuck) in internet land....way to spread the love in the world-wide Subaru community.
