- A demonstration of several new features. Firstly, the Barrel Roll is finally working courtesy of Baezon. Secondly, Lafiel has added a ton of new animation features to the engine. I demonstrate what he's added with some flapping wings, snakey dragons, and a bunch of contextual animations for the Saruamrine Boss. Please keep in mind this is all highly and extremely experimental stuff in the Freespace Engine that needs to be ironed out.

Yo, Zoness! Probably one of the saddest places in SF64. It's just a polluted planet from all of Andross' wastes and trash...This level looks really, really good and the arrangement at the beginning is soooo good! It's definitely one of my favorite tracks in the original game.
This definitely improved upon the concept of Zoness.
This project is looking better and better with each update

NOW it's starting to feel like a proper Starfox! this is INCREDIBLE. I truly hope you can get this game to release without Nintendo dropping a CnD on you, because I want this project to THRIVE!
And if a C&D order unfortunately arrives, this person can do what Sector D2 did. And make it it's own original game series. (AKA, Project Wingman to Ace Combat.)
They could CnD the game if it was sold for profit but its a fan made game so I dont think they can. Also the game is getting support from its original VAs so I the CnD may not happen.
@@yagamijubei28 Pokemon Uranium was also free and it got CnD unfortunately. It mostly depends of how popular the project gets to catch their attention

Zoness was an example of what Andross' insanity was capable of when left unchecked. Falco even seems to show disgust at what Andross was doing to the oceans of Zoness in SF64, indicating it might have been the pilot's homeworld.
This was probably one of the most damaged planets aside from Venom being the most desolate and uninhabitable to life. Zoness likely healed gradually after the Lylat Wars. A solemn thought on just how destructive selfish ambition can become when it consumes a brilliant mind.
Btw, awesome job on this game soo far! Really love what Ive seen here and look forward to playing it myself whenever its released!😉
Trivia: On Star Fox Assault, it was insinuated there's a Zoness Restoration Program that started right before the Aparoid war
Falco is from Zoness, Peppy, James and Fox are from Papetoon, Andross is actually Cornerian, Slippy is from Aquas and Wolf and Leon are from Macbeth.

I like how the Zoness theme plays with the stock music, especially with the confrontation of the boss. Not only that, but the scenery of Zoness shows how polluted the water is and how much damage that has been done to the planet’s environment.
That was well done. That felt like Star Fox.
Man, i remember stumbling across this almost ten years ago now and it wasn't even on youtube. Imagine my absolute shock to see that you are STILL working on it, and you've taken it to a level i certainly never thought it would go. This is amazing and you should be proud of it. This one especially is the best i've seen yet, i got goosebumps when you timed the emergence of the creatures with the music, that was top notch.
Crazy expiramental FS2 stuff is always fun. Paves the way for future ideas and concepts, very cool looking btw.
Also needs to be said. It's impressive how well you re-created this boss fight in FS2 of all things.

The project's looking great! But, I do feel like there's too much going on with the HUD and takes up a lot of screen space. A more Ace Combat 7 or Project Wingman styled HUD would make it look less cluttered.

I do not know if i posted a comment on here, but might as well do so now Holy Smokes, i must say, extremely more amazing, i can clearly see how much improvements have been made, even the Barrel Roll and Newer stuff though i understand it still needs to be Iron out, but great job from Baezon, and Lafiel for what you both done. and you for showing us, Keep doing a mighty wonderful job, i look forward to much more.

I wish with each flash in the background you could see spacecraft floating above. Giving more of a reason to take out these search lights. In order to the cornerian fleet to enter without detection.

Finally someone said it, that was my favorite even though most people dont think that it conveys that starfox feel, but I really hope that he adds some on the ground play too, that would be amazing!
The more I stare at this more I wish Nintendo had done everything you had done, completely, utterly, and most importantly, officially.
And the more I think about that, the more I become convinced that they'd find some way of screwing it up.

It's more realistic with the Cornerian military coming with you in almost every mission. Unlike the original with Star Fox taking on Andross all by themselves.
Watching this channel with great interest, just finished going back to SF64 and getting all the medals. One of my favorite games and this looks super intriguing. Ended up watching the whole thing, I love the death icons for the bosses! I also can basically hear the added voice lines being spoken in my head. Looks awesome!
I really like that concept of spider like contraptions being used to get across an ocean. Controlled by frogs (since irl they do sometimes work together).

I get some serious Ace Combat vibes from the way the fighters move. I love it. I've always wondered how Arwing piloting and combat would be with that kind of control method and maneuvering potential.
This game is looking better than before. Despite a few flaws with the Zoness level, I really like how it’s coming through. I’m not digging the music track at the sneaking portion at the beginning. Sounds a bit too “Order 66 levels of tragic” for my tastes. The rest of the tracks are great though. There are too few enemy varieties to fight in this level, which can make certain parts like destroying the searchlights seem a bit too easy to accomplish. I think it could’ve done with a few more gun and missile emplacements to defend them from threats like Star Fox. Aside from that, it’s still a good level you made. Speaking of emplacement enemies, I wonder if the game could eventually have some laser and missile turrets as well as shield generators + shields to destroy?
The track at the start is the same Zoness track from Star Fox 64. To be fair I always wondered why the track sounded so sad when you are sneaking around in that game too. I suspect they wanted the player to feel sad for the ecologically nuked planet. In the level I did before this there are turret towers and emplacements so yeah it's possible.
I love the detail of Falco being knowledgeable on the fauna and flora present on Zoness
64 seemed to imply he had some kind of connection to the planet, I'm not aware if that's been expanded upon in any supplementary material
but I enjoy what you did with it here
The Sarumarine captain should have been pushed to be a tad more gruff and piratey but everything else is pretty gold. You guys really sell how polluted Zoness is.
nintendo needs to get in touch with you guys. I'd pay money for this kind of gameplay.

I just recently discovered this and only bought FreeSpace 2 for this mod. Now I just need to figure out how to install the mod once released...
I can't wait to get my hands on this!
Technically Freespace 2 isn't needed to play it, but I recommend getting it anyway because it's a great game.

Looking good Neph. Dialogue could be tightened up a bit. Great to see the project is still alive. Couple of ideas, I think there should be a constant Arwing engine sound to add to the immersion? Perhaps the radio dialogue boxes could have some limited transparency?

Rader could do with a patch as at 5:30 in the vid I noticed everything on it went invisible after the first cut scene but you did you trigger a shortcut to make certain things on radar disappear e.g. wing mates

@@comentnine1574 No worries. In Star Fox 64 I think it is just supposed to be green water but I thought some kind of thick sludge was more gross and fitting for such a polluted planet.

Say, how can I get the available demo to work? The launcher tells me that it "Failed EnumAdapterModes in UpdateAntialias List", that it failed to set graphic mode, and then it tells me to reset a preference path in a file called osapi.cpp, a file that... I can't even find.
I'm using the 2020 demo, not the 2017 "7th demo" btw.
Which version of the Launcher are you using? One of the older versions is incompatible with Windows 10, You might need to get the more recent " wxLauncher."

@@UndyingNephalim Ok, so... I installed wxLauncher, and I opened it. I also browsed the game root folder in the basic settings, and selected the folder where the Star Fox game stuff was, and after that, I selected one of the two FS2 Open executables. Now what? I tried pressing Play, but nothing happened after that. It starts up, the wxInstaller window closes, and... nothing else.
