We have done all the specialty dining venues on the new RC ships(and we are vegetarian) and honestly, unless you want peace and quite or an experience (like Wonderland, Izumi, Mason Jar which has great live bands on certain nights, etc.) I don’t think the specialty dining is worth it. It was better ten years ago, just in my opinion. RC has so many good dining options (that are included) which people do not know about or discover on their last day! 😊
We did lunch at Jamie’s Italian, with the sale going on it was $18.99 for unlimited fresh pasta, appetizers and desserts. All really good. It was worth it! But I wouldn’t pay more than $30 for an upgraded dinner.

I always shocked more people dont know the loop hole for the drink package. You can call royal and tell them that only one person wants the package. You can say the other person does not drink then one can buy the deluxe and one can get the refreshment package. I have done this depending on who i am sailing with. Also there are cases like my mother who dont drink anything but water so my dad can buy the deluxe package and my mom doesnt have to get any package at all. You can definitely save money doing this

All of this just adds up to one thing: Virgin Voyages style is the way to go. All included, and the drink 'package' is just a per drink credit you establish. Easier to go that way, if you want.

Yes, I don’t like all that extra charging for food and activity. I believe inclusiveness is a smarter way for cruising. Our next cruise will be on Virgin Voyages and super excited.
Your first mistake is that you booked on a brand new ship, second of all; you complain that you paid an extra $130. at a specialty restaurant.

Just so u know both people in your room do not have to get the deluxe beverage package, you can call Royal and the 2nd person in the room can switch to the refreshment package instead of the deluxe beverage package. On my icon cruise in sept the refreshment package is $29.99 instead of the deluxe beverage package at $77.99 a day.
We were able to do this on our cruise last year.
Did you both have to buy the Deluxe package and then call afterwards and get one switched? And if so, do you get your money refunded or in cruise credit?

FYI, the Bonsai Teppanyaki on Carnival is $42 a person-- so $84 for two vs $130 for two.

Hi KP and fam! Just found this channel cause I am planning a 2025 anniversary cruise with the hubby. Just making my way through all your playlists and you ask here about if an unlimited drink package is worth it. I’ll have 2-3 champagnes with breakfast, all my coffees. 3-4 drinks during the day and then 4-5 between dinner and sleeping. Drink packages are ALWAYS worth it for vacation ❤

Personally many of you know how things are especially in the cruise field I’m not surprised. It’s either expect to pay for extra things or don’t go. There are certain vacations that you just have to be prepared to spend extra on. It might not seem right but it’s a business. Selling tickets and giving everything out for free wouldn’t cut it. I have a booking for three on star of the seas so I’m already expecting to dish out extra money. You just have to have that mindset when you are on vacation you might spend more. Great video by the way!

Icon just looks cluttered in contrast to the Oasis class ships. But whenever I can I try to book a Junior Suite if it's affordable for the double crown and anchor points.

Fyi. The 50% off a coffee is a one time use only. Also if you buy the drinking package and your roommate doesn’t drink they only have to buy the refresh package. You just have to call royal to make that happen. 🎉
Norwegian joy hibachi is worth the price they have a lot left over that you can ask for also it’s very entertaining they do songs like we will rock you, they do ice ice baby with the rice and make it a heart and very nice! I recommend and also Norwegian joy has a really good theater songs they have footloose and elements and footloose what my fav and something you do if you ever go🥇

Yeah I don’t like that Royal is charging for the crowns edge and there’s people actually booking it.. they are testing the waters.. if people didn’t pay it they would make it free… just sayin. When the price drops in 5 years I’ll book lol and drink packages are never worth it.. you know how many bottles of liquor I can buy at the store for that amount! I could buy for a whole year!! Lol 😂

I would skip the drink package too! I thought about the non-alcoholic drink package for our upcoming cruise, but didn’t think it was even worth it. I drink more water than anything so we are having water bottles sent to our room. Loving this series and glad you’re having fun!
The water is a this deal but sometimes I take a couple of empty water bottles. I keep refilling them and put them in the cooler. Then I always have a cold one available.
We carry on couple 12 packs ( Can ) of Coke on Carnival cruise / also on Royal Caribbean September 2023 on Adventure of the Seas - with no said nothing about it on Royal Caribbean ship

Royal Caribbean’s #1 Fan but I can’t believe they are charging those prices for crowns edge it’s should be included with the ship… not sure who made the call on that but not very smart.
I don't think some of the specialty restaurants are worth the price except for the steak houses. No way would I pay that much to experience The Crown's Edge. I hate that the ships are starting to nickle and dime the passengers.

Compared to Princess I've noticed that Royal is actually much more expensive for their upcharge restaurants. The ship looks beautiful and extremely large. Not my cup of tea but I'm certain younger families with children would love it.

I got the drink package last cruise and it was not worth it for us. I do like the non alcoholic drink package where you can get the fancy coffees and smoothies. Thay one was well worth it for us!

I’m having fun watching this series. I enjoy your channel a lot. I definitely would not pay that much for hibachi on a ship where included food options are already yummy. I’d pay for food, just not hibachi. I am not impressed with hibachi because the food is generally the same and the show and the tricks. I prefer sushi!
It is a zip line… $40 dollars for that? Nope. I have a fantastic zip line park near me, that one should be free. $80 is crazy.

I’ve looked into cruises for my anniversary this year and Royal prices are insane! Especially when everything isn’t included. Disney cruises actually seem like a better deal to me
I have been cruising for 35 years and have always been happy with the meals in the main dining room. The specialty restaurants are too expensive. At home, you can get a very good Hibachi meal for $35 or $40 each. Make sure you have breakfast in the main dining room the day that they have the chocolate breakfast. So good!
So the drinks all drinks cost..so also keep that in mind
