I had to replay the over 50 and t-shirt to be sure that is what she said. I am 60. My shoulder, back and arms are my strong points, as I exercise to keep toned. Love to show it off. Plus I live in a tropical country, so sleeveless and straps are most of my tops.
So what if my arms look old. It feels like 115° in Houston Everyday. Plus hot flashes! I just try to look crisp and cool when I go out! I love this channel 💖
White shirt- If your skin is warm eg Warm Spring like me or other warn tones a cream or ivory is far more flattering. I have golden blonde hair a slight yellow tone is great in a "white shirt" for people like me.2. Loose shirt. These look fumpy and dumpy on petites...size 0 may get away with that but not mediums and up. Yes they let air circulate around the body but I have a cream silk shirt NOT cut too loose just worn open for that purpose over a cami silk or cotton. I need a supportive bra and cant wear strapless ones spaghetti straps are okay for me. 3. Skirts-the same principle works for me with skirts. I rarely wear a pencil skirt but they do suit some bodies. With a lightweight skirt billowing in the breeze...a bit like a sail and it creates lovely movement. In fact,a lightweight fabric, silk preferably, billowing on a hot breezy day is elegant AND sexy on older women. I often get stopped by both men and women complmenting me when I dress this way...they dont know exactly WHAT is attracting their eye but it is that movement of fabric...it draws the eye amd I find a loose skirt cooler as well.
I am a warm blonde with light warm skin tourqouise eyes. Here is what I bought this season and pre summer. Thin Tencel loose pants that let in air in black, white, beige, and light blue. This my first foray into baggy pants usually I wear straight leg. They are working well with my existing tops. I bought baby blue and pink straight leg pants, a baby blue linen shirt, a pink vest and a beige one...vests are big this season and on cool nights I wear ❤these with my existing blazers I cant wear them uncovered sleeveless like the young girls do, but I have found they are versatile anyway with a lightweight silk shirt under or with something like a jacket on my arms at night. My big splurge was a printed paisley cream background Zara blazer marketed hard this season with a belt or it can be worn beltless because it has a button closure too. Printed blazers are not as neutral as a solid color, BUT the cream background, tan, baby blue,yellow paisleys work exceptionally well with my coloring and wardrobe. I looked at it in downtown Chicago but put it back, went home and thought about it, checked how much of my wardrobe it coordinated with and went back the next day to get it. I paid full price. I wear a small. The next WEEK it was on sale for a bit more than half price OUCH . I was kicking myself for not waiting, but I went over , there was a whole rack but not one small. Even if there had been one I would not choose to have missed out on this special (for me) blazer.This will be a signature piece and I will use it mainly for travel since I live in a small town amd dont want to be seen constantly by the same people in it...which is why neutrals are always a better buy. BUT it is so gorgeous and perfect for ME and my existing wardrobe...it even goes with the new baby blue pants and blue linen shirt I bought first this season..shirt at Zaras, pants at H&M on sale for $20. It really is a standout piece. My wardrobe is mostly neutrals I have been slowly buying the past four years including about 50%vintage lightening up my colors. I prefer shorter hipped in waist blazers as I am petite with a small hourglass body...tge dpuble breasted baggy ones are hprrible on me NOT elegant as they are on someone tall and with no curves so buying blazers vintage has worked well for me style wise and bidget wise. I did try on a pink short blazer jacket at Zara I really wanted in my size and on sale BUT the shoulder pads dwarfed me. I see this fall huge exaggerated shoukder pads were in the designer shows amd thos jacket previewed that trend...the shortness was perfect for me the oversized shoulder pads are and will be a big NO for me...again they will look great on SOMEONE. Dress for your coloring amd bodytype is my advice. I studied on Pinterest for a year when I lost weight a few years ago to learn what is best for me the Kibbe system is a good place to start on Pinterest and CZcams videos. Doing that has saved me MANY clothing choice mistakes and a ton of money dressing myself and I know I learned the right things since I am often stopped and complimented by women and men..not bad for 75.
