For my opinion. I would say boo is healthier than me. He eat healthy food, take a shower 5-6 time a week and go see his doc. Wow what a healthy cute monkey. Huge boo fan!

I know it's hard when you put yourself out there because people make irresponsible comments. The vast majority of people, though, don't pay any attention to that. We just love the videos - which are very educational, interesting, and not infrequently moving. Keep it up !
I just want to add that I enjoy watching these videos - not just because Boo is such a fascinating creature, but because of your and your wife's relationship with him which is so loving. It gives me hope for all of us.
The 'haters' sit in front of their computers, and they don't see you as real people. It is wrong that this is what people do on the internet, but what is really sad is that they can wound so much when the vast majority of people love what you do. That they can underscores how much you share of your life here. I do hope, though, that you really 'listen' to all of these positive comments from people - and realize that you are supported.

Good for you, ignore the haters and the self righteous critics. Boo looks pretty happy and healthy, a lot healthier and happier then he'd be in the wild with predators, diseases, and rivalry fights.

I think you are so completely right Ad Astra. If a person is a good monkey owner there are a lot of pluses for both the monkey and the owner. As Pete has explained, there are a lot of frustrations too. Life of any kind, yours and mine, and the life of a monkey, is a balancing act, a trade-off. I have been bedridden for a couple of years now with Lyme Disease, and I enjoy watching Monkeyboo and also any monkey videos posted online. I watch videos posted of wild monkeys by amateur photographers and by National Geographic too, and the wild monkeys don't have such a good life. They get to hang from trees and have a monkey troop, but sometimes the trees are chopped down to make way for farming, and sometimes the big alpha males eat the babies. I suspect that Pete's family is now Monkeyboo's little troop, and Boo gets enrichment all the time from Pete and Tracy, who buy him all kinds of gadgets. He gets vet care, and has fun every day! And look what he has to eat! Those wild monkeys have to forage for food, which isn't so plentiful, or so varied. Some of the wild monkeys beg for food from tourists and get so fat they can hardly trot off to the woods. Just look at Monkeyboo's coat! Those wild monkeys often have something that looks like mange, where big chunks of fur are missing all over their little bodies, exposing their bare skin to the sun. Even the babies suffer from the bugs and scabies and fleas or whatever and lose their fur in big patches. They are always scratching. Also, in various places around the world where monkeys are plentiful in the wild, there is such a thing as "bush meat" which is monkey meat that ends up on people's dinner tables. When the hunters kill the monkeys they don't often look to see whether the monkey is a mom or not, so they babies are left to fend for themselves. What a horrible and excruciating experience for a little child monkey! So all the talk online about how monkeys should just be monkeys in the wild and how much happier a monkey is or would be if that monkey were just "in the wild" should be tempered with how good a monkey has it when they have a responsible owner who loves the monkey. It looks to me like monkeys make great pets, if they are cared for properly. I would love to write that Monkeyboo book, Pete. I'll give it a go.

Judy Leecraft I completely agree. Monkeys in the wild also get kidnapped by other monkeys in or out of the troop. And there are so many monkeys that don't want to have babies, and abandon their own. Also, the monkeys you've seen that eat meat from the tourists...they CHOOSE to be around people, because people have more food! And they seem to like the attention. So the argument that monkeys would be in the wild if they could isn't even accurate! I hope you're feeling better. It must be horrible to be bed ridden. I am basically home/bed ridden from depression and agoraphobia. Not sure if you suffer from those things, but it must be very frustrating if you don't. It's even frustrating for me. Sometimes I wish I had the life of some of these monkeys! This world doesn't seem to be worth it some days unfortunately. It's nice to see there are some intelligent and emotionally wise people left on this Earth though. Wish I knew the two of you i.r.l! Much love.

This is the firs time I have watched your videos. Boo is beautiful as are you. Some people are just jerks and you are right, probably jealous that you have such a great relationship with your Boo. He is healthy and beautiful and happy , just ignore the jerks they live in the world to "test us" . I pray God will watch over you and little Boo.
