During the second half of this video, it started coming down, heavy and a lot more than expected. Some parts of town have over 5 inches of snow and just a short period of time. It's the second half of this video where the snow really gets heavy. Also, at the very end about five minutes from the end of the video, I almost get into an accident and I want people to see what happened these things happen to me as well and usually it's not my fault or your fault you'll see exactly what happend. In my country, the north part of Croatia in Europe we haven’t have real stuff snow for last 5 Years, which is pretty lame, cos usually in past we get every year good amount of snow. But, I’m happy for you Nick, and Thanks for updating.

Yeah because we’re very small country, but at the same time we have Adriatic Sea (first thought for everyone) and lot of mountains, and at the north and east part a lot of flat parts which used to have real winters before.

Oh this was absolutely nothing. This was like a snowflake lol compared to last year but once we get our first OK snowfall people get crazy up here the driving.

Left Running Springs (California entirely) 13 yrs ago. I didn’t miss the fires, the bark beetles, the snow or digging my car out at 3 am to head down to work. Seeing this makes me a bit homesick though. I wouldn’t mind having a cabin for vacations.
Hey Twinzma. Running Springs is a very beautiful area and yes the fires can get absolutely terrifying. You definitely left California at the right time right before it started getting and turning into a place I just don’t recognize from growing up here
I love the topography always have and always will. That’s never gonna change but you’re lucky you got out. I’m in Big Bear because it’s my favorite place in Southern California. I’m from Newport Beach. I love Newport Beach as well but I rarely leave the mountain. It’s just too depressing when I drive down the mountain but that feeling I get driving up the mountain once I hit about 4000 feet elevation is just like I’m driving into Heaven. Just peace and serenity overwhelm me.

Haha thanks Max. Dude that doesn’t happen to me often but coincidentally it was on a downhill and the guy was parked right in the middle of the road. I couldn’t believe it and as I’m trying to depress my brakes slowly I caught a little patch of ice and as I said, I was on a downhill slope. You couldn’t really tell in the video, but it was a little bit steep And I wasn’t thrilled but thankfully nothing happened I’m glad I installed my dash cam about a month ago. It’s been sitting in the car without being used for a long time so if something like that would’ve happened at least I would’ve been able to tell the insurance company it wasn’t my fault I can’t afford to to pay more insurance lol.

I can’t believe you guys out there experiencing 50° weather that’s crazy in Pennsylvania. I thought it would be a lot colder this time of year. I even heard Montana and South Dakota and North Dakota are experiencing some warm temperatures but it’s just the way things happen last year we had record cold temperatures all over Southern California cold temperatures that blue the other records out of the water snow in areas that never ever see snow not even since I’ve been alive so it’s just the way it works but I hope you guys do snow
Thanks for the reply Nikk. The winters used to be much colder. There was always snow around christmas from lake effects snows. Now were Im from were lucky to have a few inches on the ground for christmas. Last year was crazy though. Especially for a la nina year. La ninas are normaly dryer in Southern California.

I’ve only had to use car insurance once, and that was a year ago for the only accident I’ve ever been in and it raised my insurance by a huge number that wouldn’t have been good for me. Lol, but I did have a dash cam so maybe the insurance would’ve seen that it was that guy who was at fault for parking in the middle of the street

Carol i’ve been doing it for 9 1/2 years. I will never stop. I love doing this when I started this channel there was nobody else that I could find anywhere doing what I do no one in Mammoth or Lake Tahoe or even here or anywhere and a few years after I started, people started copying exactly what I do and all these different areas, and it’s the most flattering thing to know that I was the juggernaut of this particular genre you could say, and I never thought it would amount to anything to be honest. I never had a goal to come up big someday on CZcams never ever ever ever in my wildest dreams, I just needed a place to post my videos and share the beautiful sites with the world.

Beautiful up in moonridge, my favorite area of Big Bear. Nikk it's UNBELIEVABLE that someone would stop in the middle of the street facing cars coming downhill.
And definitely, the person wasn’t stuck. That’s what irritates me as soon as I got within a foot of him and my car finally stopped he backed up and turned the wheel a little bit to get out of my way so I could drive around him. It’s just so irritating. There was no reason for him to be there but I’m just trying to find something to whine about today lol.

I’ve mentioned that a lot in the videos that we are only only 11 days into winter or 12 days something like that and last week when the snowstorm didn’t pan out to be what it was I kept on reminding people even though we got a late start we still have all winter ahead of us. I’m just referring to the fact that most years that I’ve been here we’ve had snow even in late October and good snowstorms in November and December so yeah we missed out on a few months that’s all I was referring to.

And when it comes to the El Niño so in 1996 and 1997 I was still living where I grew up in Newport Beach and a friend of mine, and myself we drove up to Mammoth and I had never seen so much snow in my life, you couldn’t see the buildings or anything and they said it was one of the snowiest years they’ve ever had on record the 96 and 97 year and that was the biggest El Niño I’ve ever ever seen
When it comes to this area, El Niño is devastating. I’ve never been here for El Niño for a real one but I’m pretty certain because of the much warmer subtropical moisture mixing in since big bears usually on the snow and rain line. It’s gonna be mostly rain when we have an El Niño season and yes, that would be devastating for tourism devastating for the resorts .
And you know what I’ll bet it’s the same for Lake Tahoe as well really rainy as opposed to as much snow as usual, but Mammoth got absolutely plastered as I said you couldn’t see any buildings when you were driving into town it was unbelievable and I mean, basically, houses and businesses, of course some of the larger buildings you could see for sure, but you would turn down the street and it just looked like wall-to-wall snow

Hey I’m really needing help with my check engine light. Remember it’s the O2 sensor it says. We’ve replaced it 3 times and still light is on for many days than off for half a day then back on for 3 days or so then back off for half a day. With engine light on I can’t remote start car or use cruise control. It’s awful.

@@time4dirt so as I said what the codes are is for the O2 sensor if you need the exact codes, I do have my little code reader, but I have to find it. I take it to my good friend Down The Street to his mechanic shop and he replaced the O2 sensor three times, honestly I’ve had a lot of problems at his shop and I’m very sad to say that

Lucky you. It i svery beautiful. We saw a storm that dumped over a foot in my city in November but it all melted already. Ever since no snow and we experienced a green Christmas for the first time in many years.

Hey there Semi. My bro that’s pretty cool that you drive a semi truck because I love to drive and just you know sometimes enjoy some solitude. That was always something that I thought I could get into when I was younger to drive trucks around the country that would be pretty cool, but believe it or not one of my main concerns was once I cross parts of the middle of the country, worried about putting on tire chains going through the Rockies and other parts of the mountains that just seems like it would be such a nightmare to have to pull over and nasty conditions to do that
That’s really cool you live in Indiana getting out of California it was probably a great move back then it’s a lot different than it was just 14 years ago I don’t recognize it at all from the place I grew up the topography will always be beautiful and everything that I love but the big reason I live in the mountains is because things got so crazy down at the bottom

Maybe he was sliding towards the parked car in the driveway on the left-hand side and didn’t know what to do you never know, but I was just frustrated at the time and that’s something that happens up here a lot is people stopping in the middle of the road When we have snow, it truly boggles my mind.

I know it didn’t look all that bad because it was such a slow moving situation but I just couldn’t believe it how that guy just parked right in the middle and you saw his truck correct? And you saw the tires correct? There wasn’t that much snow and he wasn’t stuck because right after I almost hit him and then started driving around him. Once I got control again he backed out a little bit and turned his steering wheel to give me a little more room so it was just so frustrating that he just sat there as I’m honking like 15 timesmaking it clear that I’m not stopping. Just so irritating.

The last couple storms we would have gotten much less rain in Mentone, but for our microclimate. T storms developed over the mtns and we got em! I love to see the snow fall, especially when the fully formed flakes fall on my arms, I can see the forms. Have to find a peaceful cabin to stay in during the week soon in the mtns.

I always suggest that because not hardly anybody does that and you will absolutely lap these people, so Bianca that’s what I think you should do and you’ll be able to tell if you should make that move because driving up on Highway 18 depending on how bad the traffic is ahead of you it’s just gonna get worse when you get into the Big Bear area, so yes, make that leftit’s really not going out of your way

He’s definitely not punk rock music. It’s the complete opposite of punk rock music. He’s pretty good stuff as well. Believe it or not a lot of my favorite music is classical music like classical singers, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, other people like that.
It’s Jeffrey Dean music on CZcams. He’s got amazing music. It blows me away. It’s so good I know the words to a lot of his songs and usually I don’t know someone who’s that close to me whose music inspires me as much as his so I was very privileged to get to know him.

I never got into the Styx. Was never into that type of music even though all my older siblings absolutely loved that band growing up it was mostly stuff like Guns N’ Roses, and metallica and Faith No More and stuff like that until I was in my young teens. Then punk rock and reggae, took over.

@@bigbearweatherandmore6621 Thanks, Nikk! I'll look him up. I can rewind, but my ears were not sure if it's Bean, Green, Dean...? I know a lot of musical people, so it's fun to listen to new ones if I like their style. A band I know was playing at 572 Social Kitchen a lot last year (mostly summer). As in, I know the lead singers for real. I think you'd like them. They do 70s, 80s, 90s etc, mix. Guns n Roses had one or two I liked. I'm probably into older stuff than your older siblings! Haha. Try Styx out again, sometimes taste expands with age!

Did you know there's also a Jeffrey Dean Morgan music? A bit confusing. I think I found the correct one. But give me a title to make sure? I knew you are joshing about the rewind. But truth, my ears can't always distinguish between sound-alike words. Like spelling on the phone, is that S or F? Styx isn't the heaviest of metal, but isn't easy listening either. "Paradise Theater" is a great album.

I agree with you 100%. It’s not right at all what they do very very few times when I used to play my music in every video many years ago, very few bands would allow me to keep my music in the video and if I was able to be monetized, they would allow it, but they would take a piece of themoney that’s made on the video, but when I was playing all my music, my channel wasn’t monetized at that time, and I think every band out there should do that, but because of the greed, they take every penny instead of being happy people are playing their music for the world but again they’re the creators, so I guess they have every right

bb finally we got something it’s about time it wasn’t a huge amount, but compared to what we’ve received all season. It was a lot more than anything else so I’m very thankful for that.
Nothin like a flat lander (just assuming hehe) to cause accidents cause driving in snow is - to be fair- very sketch! Caltrans needs to give them instructions on safe driving tips when it snows, maybe a few locals too lol. Glad you avoided that!! 😥 that was scary. thanks for taking the risk to drive!! Hey D. Isn’t it crazy how much different the amount of snow is when you go further into Big Bear city as opposed to Big Bear Lake? At first I was shocked and I thought it was just an anomaly but after doing this for 9+ years it’s a regular thing.
And yes, guarantee you that was a flatlander for sure but he gets a pass since no one got hurt but he’s very lucky because I have a dash cam and he would’ve been responsible for just sitting in the middle of the road so I’m glad everything was OK and you are correct even locals some need to learn how to maneuver in the snow as well. It really isn’t that easy it takes a little getting used to and if the conditions are just right, it’ll be just icy enough where it doesn’t matter what type of tires or vehicle or chains you have you’re gonna slide.
