Valorant is a team-based first-person tactical hero shooter set in the near future. Players play as one of a set of Agents, characters based on several countries and cultures around the world. In the main game mode, players are assigned to either the attacking or defending team with each team having five players on it. Agents have unique abilities, each requiring charges, as well as a unique ultimate ability that requires charging through kills, deaths, orbs, or objectives. Every player starts each round with a "classic" pistol and one or more "signature ability" charges. Other weapons and ability charges can be purchased using an in-game economic system that awards money based on the outcome of the previous round, any kills the player is responsible for, and any objectives completed. The game has an assortment of weapons including secondary guns like sidearms and primary guns like submachine guns, shotguns, machine guns, assault rifles and sniper rifles. There are automatic and semi-automatic weapons that each have a unique shooting pattern that has to be controlled by the player to be able to shoot accurately. - Hry
Yes, I am aware that I forgot to speak on the economy system (buying loadouts every round) and nuances such as crosshairs, etc.. That’s what happens when you flow off the top of the dome 😅

Don’t even worry about it man because I am the target audience of this video (I’m playing Valorant for the FIRST time ever on PS5, I don’t even own a PC) and your video was still very informative and useful. I have been watching lots of Valorant guides since this closed beta started but almost ALL of those guides are strictly PC and I was asking/hoping someone would make a console guide so thank you for the effort. You said all the things people need to hear, ESPECIALLY about the talking your so right. This is NOT Warzone you cannot go into game’s totally mute you will hurt your team every round and that’s a huge problem with “console gamers” almost no one has a mic… well I do and I use it every time I play Valorant and I’m having so much fun. And if you really want to get good at Valorant the all you console gamers are going to have to cough up some money for a microphone.
Idk if it’s because people just think “consoles are for casuals” well that’s fine but if your serious about playing and improving at Valorant PLEASE invest in a microphone. There’s a good reason every high tier player uses a mic. So yea regardless of all the great advice in this video if your going to keep playing this like Warzone (trust me I know I was playing it and I know 95 percent of the players DONT have mics) then your going to have a bad experience. So don’t count the game out if your struggling… you prolly just need to buy a mic. Being a “console casual” is fine…. In Warzone but in Valorant it absolutely does not fly.

And I agree! I have a $30 microphone that sounds solid and gives me the opportunity to communicate with my team effectively. That way I can do everything in my power to help us achieve victory.
Dude I just wanted to say thank you for making it a big point to clarify how much moving vs standing still affects your aim. I come from games like Apex and Siege where strafe shooting is far and away the best way to play the game, and I kept trying to move and shoot every gunfight. After hearing you talk about that I went from 5th on my team every game I have played this past week, to 2nd literally the very next game. I did not respect how seriously this game takes aiming being easier while not moving.

Yeah, this game is the polar opposite of titles we are used to. The more you can differentiate them, the better you will be here 💪🏽

I’ve chosen the smooth option for the response curve, its honestly really good for me, another thing is that I turned off walk when focused. This makes you have the ability of running while focused. I know the game has awful recoil if youre moving, but I find I have much more control in medium to far range fights a lot more now that I’m not so slow while focused, this does mean you have to react quickly and even if you do it correctly you still have a 50/50 chance of dying or living but its going to make you harder to hit since youre moving faster than others can handle
Its mainly a tip for when youre trying to make a good swing, you cant swing if you are going slower than a turtle right? Anyone holding that angle would get you, but with running speed even as your focused its sooo easy to take a swing and frag out !!
Yeeeeppp! I’ve since dropped walking while focused too. Just didn’t mention it here like I should have lol. Gotta try out smooth though a bit more.
In comparison to light, what do you think about it?
@@CraysWorld101 I haven’t tried light yet, only standard, linear and the smooth one. Personally linear was too much for me in this game compared to fortnite, but maybe being in first person changes the feel. Standard is perfect nothing wrong I just wanted to be smooth and able to stop on a dime its worked so far will update you if I do make changes and whatnot. Keep up the great content

12-12 extreme is fast and the curve helps make micro adjustments with extra speed from sens. Makes centering feel amazing

The aim curve thing basically determines how your aim assist helps do if it is in heavy your sensitivity will strongly lower when aiming at an enemy so you can keep your crosshairs on the enemy while light makes your sensitivity lower very very lightly so you have more control and speed up when aiming at an enemy. This is how i understood it so pls correct me if im wrong
You are pretty much spot on, with the exception that it does not change the strength of aim assist in any capacity. It just changes your turn acceleration and responsiveness 💪🏽
Another tip for the Xbox users: If you have gamepass, it unlocks all the characters so you may feel overwhelmed on who to play/try. I'd say try them out one by one and take your time with each and try not to rush through them when finding who works great for you.

tips for console players.. disable the forced walk while in focus. it’s a bad habit to use focus just to ensure you walk, it’ll inhibit your swings. get used to walking by pushing the thumbstick less
there’s also a setting that lets you change the walk/run threshold.

Tip for controller for 1 shot headshot games… use a lower vert sense so your crosshair placement is easier, sense is subjective yes but I’ve been playing siege controller and this tip helps me personally

i use a control freak so it’s always hard to find the perfect sens onna new fps
Played briefly with a friend and his girlfriend on PC as well as long before that watching clips of it or CSGO over time or shroud so when I actually got into it do to the console beta (I intend to play on both) some stuff already stuck. A big habit I’m trying to break from Apex is one a TON of battle royale players seem to have. Crosshairs WAY TOO LOW as if angled at the ground to pick up loot.
YES!!! You are spot on there. I still have that habit of having a low cross hair as a result of playing battle Royales over the last several years. It isn’t the easiest to break, but where there is a will there is a way!

I’m ascendant on PC and dropping 30 at least nearly every game and I wouldn’t recommend not using it. You just gotta only use it like aiming in Rainbow Six, and don’t use it up close if you can help it
I have to agree with Yajj here. It is situational. Close range fights, it’ll get you erased, but can be helpful in those mid-long range gunfights.

I’ve recently changed up to center dot 2, inner line length 4, thickness 2, offset 2, no outer lines

To start, neither. I would not suggest those characters until you have already gained some experience. I would start with much simpler characters such as Phoenix or Reyna. That way you can focus on mechanics without needing to worry about utility as much

Why the higher vertical sensitivity?
I had a dev come in one of my streams and confirm to me that the base horizontal and vertical sens is not a 1:1 ratio. Vertical needs to be higher to be closer to horizontal sens

How am I supposed to finish battle pass in 7 days! I cannot play 24/7 wtf. The game is pretty good btw.
The battle pass is carried over from the PC version so I would not worry too much about that.
Once it resets, you will have the normal allotted time to complete it.
I’ve almost beat it. It’s really not that hard. I’m tier 45 and likely gonna beat it today. Not sure on the last 5 extra tiers tho yet. Imma try tho
Play a mix of modes. Don’t just play ranked. Play tdm deathmatch and swift as well. It’ll better you as a player with aim and util usage and be quick games to get those weekly tasks done. Hyper focus weekly task completion

Agreed! In this game, you have to have an open mind and be willing to learn from others. You will be shocked with how helpful teammates can really be when you keep an open mind.

@CraysWorld101 oh I've already gotten the hang of the gameplay loop because I played on PC, PC fried though and so I haven't played in ages. I'm honestly very surprised at how well it's translated over to console! It took me a good day or so to find the right sensitivity settings but I've been dropping 20-25 kills with my girl Jett almost every game now 👊
