This video was so well done Wade! If you have any other followers that live on Oahu, I’ve decided candle making isn’t for me & I have a ton of supplies to sell. I tend to jump in with both feet & sometimes, I lose interest pretty quickly 🤷♀️

I'm a new viewer and am really enjoying your content! I'm especially interested in any videos on scent design strategies and processes. I'm currently playing with a "scent of place" paradigm for scent design; quite the opposite of my training as a tea sommelier, where terroir and processing take the lead in the final product, and tea testers must find descriptors to convey the experience to clients. Also thinking of a quantitative approach to identifying/specifying the variables around wick selection. Very interesting and FUN! THANKS for all your great work!

Why wouldn't I want a tropical scent in the winter? I would gravitate towards that scent because of how cold it is and want to feel like I'm on the beach or somewhere tropical. 😂😂😂😂

great video!!!! I'm in process of getting rid of some fragrances and adding some new so this was helpful.. hey question for ya. I've gotten a load of a wax I'm not familiar with. Calumet 5170S. it was shipped to me by mistake and I can't find anything online about it at all. are you familiar? what can I add to this for candles? it's very greasy feeling.. and even tho what I did find online says it's paraffin and soy the tag actually says paraffin and vegetable wax.. ugh. 45lbs and no clue what this is.
Hey! So.... yes I am familiar with it but never used it. Calumet is a large manufactur and a legit business. They used to go under the name TitanWax I believe. There is a descent amount of info on 5170s wax out there but you may need to do digging and put the pieces together.
To me.... it's also seemed close to igi 6006. It has a similar melt point of ahout 135ish which is high for a CO trainer wax . Thst has some advantages but also can be tough to wick. It's 70%paraffin and 30% soy... also like Igi 6006.
So if not given any directions I'd start by treating it like igi 6006 and go from there

I have a question , i have made a batch of candles for someone but they are not smelling not very strong , is there any way to add a little fragrance now .
You can melt back down and add in a bit more just make sure fully melted down and mixed thoroughly

I love using citrus, avoid flowers, and vacation style scent like High Tide from candlescience.
I'm a guy, and I have guy taste, I dislike Flowers, but i can see women liking it. I just don't have that floral taste. that's a problem for me.

Candle fragrance and perfume are not different. They are both designed to stimulate your olfactory.
Hey Wade, I love your videos! However, in this video, I think you tried too hard to be fancy while giving an extremally high level input on the smells. Honestly and personally, I like it more when you are your yourself; your honest and goofy self instead of trying to act as a candle sommelier. I enjoy when you explain your thoughts from the heart. Obviously you do you, however I just want you to give you my opinion on what I like about your channel and how this video stepped away from what I enjoy about you, your brand and your videos..

It wasn't meaning to come across as a fragrance expert but to explain the purpose of a year round fragrance. I may have over edited but was just having some fun.
