The advantage of the barb is his huge life pool from battle order and the resistances/iron skin . Starting NM around level 45 you should have plenty of it . Hustle on you or your merc help to attack faster . Keep every damage charms . WW if you want to kill fast or berzerk+howl to focus just on uniques/champs/bosses. Try to get grief as fast as possible
Do you have any tips for getting through nightmare with a barb that's not just shouting? I really dislike the shout gameplay :/
