- Use ice armor for pull not molten like everyone else
- Kite around cage, let adds hit first for slow
- Reset Boss
- *MAKE SURE YOU HIT ADDS BEFORE BOSS RESETS*
- Do normal terrain abuse pathing for kill
- Hard cast damage irrelevant, just kill with Hot Streak procs from LB - Hry
Ngl, I've watched other guides and never been able to successfully do this. This is the first time I was able to get it. Thankyou and for you conceptually explaining the point of getting the mobs to reset before the boss. That actually helped a lot.
can confirm THIS DOES STILL work as of 11/22 - the hardest thing is making sure the other mobs get back before the boss and that you tag them BEFORE the main boss gets back and resets. the timing is tight. practice a few times and you will get it

@@grantcriteser2706 NP definitely can get screwed by RNG too in terms of the timing, some days i get it first try, sometimes it takes me 5 or so goes, all i can say is get reps and it will get easier

Can confirm it still works, the trick is to wait hitting the add after they are at there original spot.
Works on every class! Like he said in the video - just hit the trash mobs before main boss resets back into place and it will work! Something like engi gloves will help alot cuz of the big range.

For anyone having trouble doing it, sometimes he will never silence you. If that happens, this is almost guaranteed to work, so you can keep trying it until that happens.

So I can get them to chase me the 2nd time on about 50% of tries (the other 50% they just evade as mentioned by others). But when I get out the entrance to reset them again, they don't reset, well the boss does, he starts to run back, but the rest don't, and in turn the boss comes back again and none of them reset at all. I managed to run halfway back to the entrance and they were all still chasing me. It seems the bugging the boss to switch to phase 2 bit may have been fixed? At least using this method anyway, odd how the being able to reset them also breaks after the 2nd pull :\
Tried this yesterday, hit it first try.
Tried it again today after reset, had a lot of trouble with it.
On the attempt where it "worked" it was very weird for me as the boss instantly phased into tiger phase and the 2x troll adds despawned when I pulled him the second time.
I had to fight him in tiger form + the 2x tiger adds in the weird tree spot, but was able to kill him easily enough at that point.
Does it really works anymore? If I tried it a few times, he chased me through ZG without resetting 😂
All the trash pulls for me when I try to reset, but I can see its still alive for you an doesnt pull, how come?

@Villainlol Did you get the Mount or still farming? I got atm 180 Runs on two differente Chars 340 overall and prob around 10 on my new lvl 74 Deathknight and i never seen this Mount drop its getting ridiculous i wonder if i will get it before Cata i mean i heard they might let Zul Gurub in the Game like they did with original Onyxia but we will see..
I got the mount ~1 week into farming it; however, I have since quit the game entirely. I stopped farming on my other 2 mages because of the account wide mount thing.
I had the mount on my horde belf which eventually became a human, so I ended up having 2 human mages and 1 UD mage at the end. I think I just got lucky in retrospect. My friend was farming since classic and only got it a few weeks after I quit (I quit at end of S7)

@@Herogames2022 I did the polar bear daily every day on 4 characters for all of the xpac and I never got that one! I also did a few months of the Blue proto drake from heroics and never saw it (ever). Kind of crazy how RNG works sometimes lol
Can you share your weak auras for fire spec? Also are you PvP spec or pve fire? I guess it doesn't matter? How about your gear? I'm a fresh 80 mage so I might need to wait for pre raid bis from heroic+ and other areas before attempting it myself

I'm Fire TTW spec in this video but doesn't really matter. Gear doesn't really matter either. I have 4p tier but you can do this with 0 gear also.
I almost die in the video because I'm being a potato. This was the 2nd pull I've done on this...but generally speaking you won't get hit much if at all and thus gear won't really matter. Gear will make kill faster but won't prevent you from doing this.

i got to the point where you path abuse where you dropped your mirror images, put living bomb on the boss and 2 tigers, i didnt jump, then i get teleported back to the original boss spawn and the 2 big adds start hitting me.... ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I've never had this happen but it's likely something with the place that you dropped mirrors.

It's an addon called "Range Display"

worked perfect first tries / weeks but now iget evade even they are alrdy reset staying still for legit 1 sec..
Honestly I get this sometimes too. I just did my other 2 mages lock outs and first one worked 1st try, the 2nd took like 3-4 tries. Not really sure the full reason why but I just keep sending it like this video till it works.
If I do in 1 pull the lock out will take 7mins total (3min travel time not included). Otherwise, it'll take 15min or so. Either way, this seems to be working the best in comparison to other vids.
I'm actually trying on all 3 mages still even though I got my first mount on my main after 2 weeks of tries. Gonna keep one in the bag for meme

Yeah this isn't working anymore. I've tried this 50 times and mobs evade 100% of the time after resetting boss.

extremely inconsistent for me, idk what you mean by "practice" either as the reset itself is very easy
I am sorry, but this did NOT work for me. Until the boss does not get back the mobs evade, thus you cant hit them to aggro them again.
You have to time it right. It takes a certain amount of practice to nail it. There are other methods out there with dummies and water ele etc you can use but I have been doing this method on 3 mages and got my first ZG tiger after 2 weeks of attempts
Sry, really hard to beleive since, 2 scenarios happen...there is a slight chance that the minibosses get back before the boss, but they stay "evade" mod until he comes back, or second the boss gets back before them, hence what you show in your video is very unlikely to happen, at least on a live server...dont know on private servers. And I would not call it a usefull video, when there is a 0.0001% chance of getting "right"...and to be honest I am still not conviced that this is not on a private server.
@@lorenzomendi5495 this is on live server. This video is taken on Benediction Alliance live classic wotlk server. I also have 2 other mages on Windseeker.
If you are having trouble doing this as fire, I would highly recommend going frost since they have an 8s slow on their ice armor in comparison to fire where it’s much lower (5sec?).
As any pve related solo mage pull, this just takes some practice.
Edit: A likely scenario to your pulls failing are that you are not gaining enough distance from boss that he is casting 2+ silences (which he stops to cast). If this is happening then you are likely not able to get to the boss before the adds reset.
Another possible failure variable is that you’re using abilities which have travel time and NOT fire blast which is instantaneous (0 travel time).

I think there is a certain level of finesse on this pull just like any other PVE solo pull. For the first couple pulls it will come down to timing hitting the adds after they reset but the boss has not. Once you get this piece down, this pull becomes clock work and you'll be 1 shotting it every lockout
As of today, 07/04/24, I think this trick was patched.
I've recreated the whole thing but after the second pull, the bosses (+ tigers) won't reset at the door and will continue chasing you through the whole raid (or at least as far as I ran).

Still works on 17.09.2023 but i strongly suggest using engi boots/nitro boots to get back to the mobs and hit them before boss resets
