Waterloo | Interval Act Grand Final Afternoon Rehearsal in Malmö Arena - Eurovision 2024

The ABBAtars (Created for Abba Voyage in London) introduce ABBA's Waterloo, sung by past Eurovision winners Charlotte Perrelli (Sweden 1999, 'Take Me To Your Heaven'), Carola (Sweden 1991, 'Fångad av en stormvind') and Conchita Wurst (Austria 2014, 'Rise Like A Phoenix') as an interval act in the afternoon rehearsal for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö arena.

The whole segment did nothing for me and a big let down, considering how it was all being pumped as something big happening, which didn't and ABBA, all living in Sweden could have at least made a personal apperance, as without Eurovision, they probably would not have become the huge sensation they were.

Yeah, it also seemed cheap to me that the section they used for this was pulled straight from ABBA Voyage with almost no changes - only the remark about Eurovision right at the end was new. I've been to see it twice and I'd imagine others who have seen it recognised that they had done this too. Surely it wouldn't have been too much effort for them to suit up and do mocap for a message lasting 30 seconds or so? Like the lack of effort put into this part specifically was insane.

1. I don't blame them for not showing up cause the Eurovision is not the same anymore.
2. They were a huge sensation cause of ALL their hits through the years.
