    This is one of Gold City's most awesome and dynamic lineups. Personally, it is my favorite. Everything and everyone just seemed to mesh perfectly on every level, and that includes the band members.

      Você está falando de jay parrack, um dos melhores e maiores tenores do gospel estadunidense

    Never seen Tim attempt a slide like he did at 5:14. Sounded kinda like fry, which, based on what I know both from reading and from hearing Tim's own opinion on it, Tim doesn't normally use. It doesn't have the same warmth as the rest of his notes, which is why I suspect it's fry. I'm guessing that's why he stopped in the middle of it.

      Was that an E1 that Tim attempted to slide to?

    • @GamingDrummer89
      @GamingDrummer89 Před 9 lety +2

      I think so. I've only heard him go to E1 successfully once, and Eb1 another time. He told me himself his lowest ever was about Eb1.

      in what song did u hear him sing Eb1 successfully?

    • @GamingDrummer89
      @GamingDrummer89 Před 9 lety +1

      You can't really hear it since it's not professionally recorded, but you can hear him start at Eb3 and slide down an octave, but he keeps going after that. watch?v=oDtQ3JYvk2A Go to about 3:12 and you'll hear him start to slide.

    jay seems to be in a bad vocal condition i think.. he can't soar up to G#5 like he did in 2000, but still awesome as ever..

      I am not sure exactly when it was as I am 19 and don't remember back then, but jay developed blisters on his vocal cords forcing him to step down out of GC, but now he is singing again, look up vocal event

      blisters? does he sing in wrong technique in those days specially his high notes?
      i saw a video of the GC reunion last 2008.. his vocals are really bad.. or maybe it is in the recording?
      i just saw new videos of him singing high notes and back on track again.. like glory road, then i met the master..

      Mark
      Jay is a third generation tenor singer, his father Johnny Parrack, who sang with the Mighty Kingsmen Quarter is still hitting some really high notes for his age. sadly as great a tenor that Jay was back then, the bad technique he used then, has cause his premature departure from Quartet singing.
