    I giggled when you mentioned Tag-Heuer. Anyway, the value of any RM is 75-80% hype. The watches themselves are interesting with the innovative use of newer materials, but hardly to the tune of several million dollars.

    They are great watches. I liked mine so well I bought one for my cat. I couldn’t adjust the band enough for it to fit him very well. So I called Richard and asked if he could resize the band for my cat. He said he could for $226K. So I just put the watch on my cats neck. He loves it.

      @@janis1699 you can't possible be comparing THE ONLY MONA LISA painted by LEONARDO DA VINCI which he spent years, potentially even over a decade, trying to perfect every little brush stroke to a line of watches which are produced in the thousands annually. It is known why the Mona Lisa is INSURED (not cost which implies it is for sale and it is not) for around $870 million. It is irreplaceable and an incredible piece by arguably the greatest polymath of the entire Renaissance. There's no way you were making that audacious statement seriously. I mean that has to be intentional irony, especially because you said that super patronizing "use your brain a little" line in the middle of such a nonsensical statement, right?

    I heard about the brand from the ex F1 driver Felipe Massa who told people he contacted RM in the first years of the company to get a sponsorship but because the RM was only starting they didn't had the money. Because Massa and his manager really liked the brand RM made a deal that in the first year of partnership they would only give him one of their best watches, RM 006 at that time, and since then Massa was wearing their watches, yes even the very expensive ones, in every single race he had in F1.

      I’m a millionaire - and for me to buy a pair of sneakers isn’t a big deal - just the same way it isn’t a big deal for a billionaire to buy a $1,000,000 watch. But no I don’t buy $100 sneaker every six month or hold a collection of Jordan or pay $1500 for a yeezy. Instead I sponsor 10 orphan kids at $30 box a month per kid = $300 a month and I hope to reach $10,000 a month in this.

    RM is basically a rich mans Gshock, its cool but after youre over 25 you tend to look at other countless more sophisticated choices. In 30 years this watch will loose most of its value, and its definitely not something youll be passing on for generations.

    Some lucky people bought RM’s when they first came out and were only about $35,000 for the basic models around 2001-2006. Models like the RM005 & RM010 are much less busy looking than the newer ones and are quite nice. Those same watches are worth 4-5 times that amount now. Very nice pieces! And great investments!       outside of those, RMs perform quite terribly on the grey market though if you buy new.
      Rolex, AP, Patek are still the best "investment" watches.

      They are pretty much assets for the rich. It's no different than owning a painting. If you purchase a rare watch it's almost guaranteed it will go up in value over the years. So they try to buy them new hold it for years then the value will 5 - 10x. Rolex and Audemars Piguet watches sometimes 10x in the matter of months after they come out. My uncle's 20k Rolex he bought 7 years ago is worth 150k now.

    I will stick with my Rolex. Their style is eternally popular, known worldwide and they only go up in value. I’ve never even heard of this brand. I think wrist watches will go the way of the pocket watch in the next 20 years anyway. Most young people nowadays don’t even wear watches.

    I would love to have one and also a Rolex yacht-master2 but right now my Seiko Solar chronograph is pretty much "hellava" and for about only $550 can't beat that baby!!! Most people think it's a Rolex , but can't get close enough ...... Whatever, wore it to work and did all types of heavy construction work while wearing it....has taken a beating and still ticking.....hmmm sounds like a commerical I recall from my youth!!!

      Funny thing is the Timex is MORE accurate. After a few days the RM will lose or gain a few seconds and the Timex will still be perfect.

    As exotic and cool as their engineering is, they're NOT pretty and are in fact kinda ugly. It's mind boggling to me. A Spring Drive Grand Seiko chronograph is more interesting to me.

    I don't think people in the comments understand the value of watches to the rich. They are pretty much assets. It's no different than owning a painting. If you purchase a rare watch it's almost guaranteed it will go up in value over the years. So they try to buy them new hold it for years then the value will 5 - 10x. Rolex and Audemars Piguet watches sometimes 10x in the matter of months after they come out.

    Thanx for sharing information on RM watches. I could never own one of these watches but I can understand the allure of them in certain circles. Nowadays there are some very wealthy people out there. They need a way to spend their money and get the attention from others that they crave. Others, like myself, never even imagine a watch of this lineage. I have never seen one in real life. These watches look gaudy to me. But, who am I to judge?

      Well watches maybe not RM but Rolex,AP, and Patek hold value extremely well even go up so a 80k Rolex could go for 120K even more or at the very least hold the same value so watches are good investments and cool hobby to get into

      @@ryanlofton3958 Even if i was a billionaire i wouldn't buy a rolex. Rather have a Patek any day or even an old Mickey Mouse watch. If you're rich would you be that bothered about making £2 or £3K profit on a watch where they all look the bloody same(rolex). NO.

      I play Euromillons which is currently at £165M. Likewise I'd never pay anything like this and I'd be embarrassed to wear a RM or anything covered in gemstones if I won a major prize. I might go as far as a VC Patrimony in gold. I prefer low key things not something that screams LOOK AT ME. I've got a Christopher Ward Malvern which cost under £500 and a couple of G-Shocks.

    I wouldn't mind paying 1M for a watch of this caliber especially if I knew I had 99M more in my account..It would be a very wonderful experience to own a timepiece of such great quality and complex engineering and design..a wonder to behold in person up close I'm sure..I can appreciate quality and expertise when it comes to timepieces and other things as well like automobiles.⌚👀✨⌚👀✨

    This is pure status symbol. Waste of money. Lol. The movement is Complex for the sake of being complex. It’s nothing advanced like the spring drive. Legibility is terrible on this. I could buy it but I’m not buying it.

    RM I feel as a horophile is for new money like athletes,rappers or actors who got into big money suddenly and don't know what to do. I always feel it is overrated. Don't get me wrong- they're beautiful, but still overvalued

    I like RM watches, other established brands looks the same and most are like quarts watches with only their brand names and history carrying them plus they are also expensive. RM is different they are wonderful to look at, well in the movies, it pays that the main lead is also wow to look at.

    You can't take anything away from the watch brand.Its had it's greatest success in marketing,they were able to get rap artist to push this brand for free,all while charging the highest dollar.that generated it's interest.The watch utilizes cheap hardened ceramics,and carbon.

    they are quite nice designs so been expensive is worth the cost and price
