I like what they do, restoring the
" unrestorable" but Mark and his ego are really annoying.
Mark, you are off the charts defensive and not fair in how you are dealing with this guy. If you put your ego to the side you guys should be great friend. You would rather try and manufacture the idea that he is not as good with the details and try and trick him and give he no time to give his answers to make him look bad. Time to grow up.
The only time Mike Brady really got pissed was when Bobby put the umbrella through the convertible top at the drive in.
I loved that sequence. Bobby's facial expressions were classic. He was the funniest of the kids.
Wouldn't have happened with a Genuine Mopar top!
@@robertlee9395 You're right! It looked like the rubber from a balloon!
Bobby was lucky Mike didn't spank him bare. But then, maybe he did.
.
@@CatholicBoy1957 And Mike didn't even make him pay for a new top! If I recall correctly, they fixed the problem by buying a blue Chevrolet convertible... the later, a RED Chevrolet convertible!
I believe there were three 1972 Barracuda/Cuda convertibles delivered to the TV studios. One was for the Brady Bunch, one for Mannix and the third was for The Doris Day Show. Chysler/Plymouth sponsored these shows. I understood these cars were retrofitted with 72 taillights, but they were really 1971's. I own the 1969 Barracuda convertible that Doris Day drove on her show in Season 2 and was on the opening credits of Seasons 2-5.
I just saw an episode of Mannix that showed a green convertible with a shaker hood, That must be the one you are talking about.
Doris Day used a 69 Barracuda convertible, 70 Barracuda convertible and a 71 Barracuda convertible all red no 72/73 Convertible.
Very interesting. How did you aquire that car if I may ask. The story would be interesting. Thank you for your comment.
I've read stories in Mopar magazines, of people seeing these cars on TV shows and getting into heated arguments with sales managers at Plymouth dealers because they wouldn't order them one.
How did you end up with it?🤔
Based on the title of the video, I thought there would be a whole story on how the Brady Bunch car was built....but there wasn't.
15:01 Sorry Mark, but the car wasn't modified for Mrs. Brady, it was always Mike Brady's car and there isn't even a photo of her sitting in it.
Another great episode guys, love the commentary! Thanks for bringing back the momories and more importantly, the Mopars lol 👍
you guys are amazing!! all of this knowledge. I sold my 70 Superbee a year ago. it was a hard loaded 383 car. power disc, ac, ps, pw, auto, vinyl, C stripe, convenience light group, tach delete, under hood light, trunk light, hood pins, fender mounted turn signals, black, bla, bla...yellow, black top, black interior.
One night I was listening to the police scanner and an officer was describing a car he was looking for. "It looks like a Trans Am but it doesn't have the bird decal on the hood." I laughed, and almost called the police department to tell them he was looking for a Firebird.
I've watched the show since the beginning and like Mark's humor even if it does get a bit annoying at times but the best thing is my wife can't stand him so when I watch the show she leaves the room. Thanks Mark!
I love watching him! Either u understand the humor and be fast enough to throw it back at him… or kick his azz! 😂 I would have a blast working with this guy. If I was a single man I’d post up in front of the shop and aggravate this man til he gave me a job! 😂
"a bit annoying at times" ? These clods were SO pompous annoying i couldn't watch more than 15 minutes. Guys like this take the fun out of being a car guy.
I can’t stand mark as well I feel bad for his kids
People who view themselves as a font of knowledge, hate to be corrected... especially on camera. Hubris is clearly one of Mark's weak points. He is a legend in his own mind.
Bingo!
Mark & Tony's knowledge of Mopars, is truly mind blowing. Love it.
Buying a coupe books will get you the same information.
I recall reading an article about the Barracuda and how Chrysler was kind of hoaxing the general public with this particular car's product placement in the show.
You mentioned the blue Brady bunch cars, but you didn't say anything about the other cars for the stars 1972 convertible e body's. So here you go... Doris Day got red, and the Manix show got green. Rats, that's all I can remember. My cousin has the only one known to exist! Imagine a barracuda with a 318 more rare than a Hemi Cuda. Love them all!!!
Proof positive "rare" doesn't always bring the $$.
A 318 ragtop is still worth like 50 grand though, people go insane over them
The mod squad had a challenger conv with '72 grill and tail lights. Not sure about the marking lights.
Didn’t Mannix total one of the convertibles?
@@jamesdennis2058 there all gone except for my cousins... It's red, but green underneath! I hope more are out there...
Mark, Will and Tony all play extremely well off each other. They have great senses of humor.
Tony fkd up Mark real bad 🤣🤣🤣🤣...the know-all got out knowed hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣
GYC will always be my favorite show. You guys are awesome!!!
I can see why this show wasn't popular, like children arguing!
Graveyard Carz - Tell Will to get a haircut
I love Mark so much, he cracks me up, we are actually very similar in a lot of ways !!!
I'm sorry
So sad for you. I had a coworker like Wormon. Whatever story you told, whatever car you owned, He had to one-up you.
Worman is a very knowledgeable person .. I will give him that .. I just can’t stand how big his ego is.. it is very possible that there are way more knowledgeable people in this field and he cannot grasp that .. he gets called out and has to one up a person. Grow up man up
as far as the LDW, I had always thought the mid engine design would lend itself to a different setup, say a 5 liter(318) EFI, with a 21st century suspension, particularly up front would give you a road car that would be fast enough on the grapevine to be scary with the cab forward putting you way out front like that.
I Like Seeing More 318 Cars Being Saved. 👍
225s too.
@@imaouima I have only seen one 1970 barracuda with a slant six. It was a b5 blue running and driving for 600.00 dollars. About fourty years ago. I passed on that one cause I already had a barracuda with a 318. Lol. I deeply regret not keeping all of them!
@@tedboots2785 Me too.. 70 Challenger R/T, 70 Barracuda 318, 74 Dart... I had the chance to buy a 70 Barracuda with a six back in '85, didn't do it. Now they're all gone.
Suggestion: Do a feature on the Barracudas/'Cudas used on the Mannix series. May be show the Dart GT that George Barris built too!!
Mark and Tony was actually wrong about the Brady bunch car, the car was for Mr Brady, not Mrs Brady. Mrs Bradys car was a 1971 Plymouth Satellite wagon at that time, Mr Brady always drove a convertible.
Another '72 convertible was built (actually a '71 made to look like a '72) for Chad Everett to drive for the T.V. show Medical Center.
Was there one on a TV show called "the modern squad"?
What was the most riskee remark ever mode on TV? It was from the show "Leave it Beaver" and the line was "Ward, don't you think you were a little hard on the beaver last night?" :)
Lol! I thought it was ward you were a little hard on the beaver Last night
Ward, don't You think You were a little rough on the Beaver, .last min night?
Oh yea, that was a good line!
I have one slightly more risqué.
From the Our Gang/Little Rascals Comedies.
"I can't go fishing with you fellas. I gotta stay home and grease Wheezer."
The line was actually, "Ward, don't you think the sex was rough last night?"
I am a dyed in the wool ford guy, have owned many but if I could have any of my classics back it would be my '72 charger.loved that car and love the show.
Agree, I'd gladly give up my '73 Mustang convertible 351C-2V for a convertible Charger in good condition.
My folks had a ‚66 charger. Mom used to complain it would pass anything but a gas station lol lol
why are the rivits wrong on the vin tag? someone changed the vin tag and used regular pop rivits and also a washer on one.
I noticed that too and they never said a word about it. Just talked about the painted screw on the fender tag.
Reason I stopped watching was reposting old episodes and I finally see one I haven’t seen numerous times.
My 70 440 6bbl 4 speed Cuda' never had carb issues like the round man was saying.
Probably because you left them alone. Problems came when people tinkered with them and they went downhill from there.
So is there a time stamp when this lie is revealed?
Girlfriend in 1980 told me she bought a new 71 challenger. Was gone when we met. She had a new mustang when we met.
I love these model comparisons so much!
I love this show. It inspired me to purchase a 74 roadrunner...
Saw some great cars on the Mannix show, including a Cuda convertible, nice seeing the old cars when they were new.
thats one of the reasons i like watching adam 12
Hollywood Knights is a great movie, Iv seen it many times, there’s a lot of bad Ass cars in it !!! 👍👍👍
just getting some burger
I liked Greg's 56 Chevy even if it needed restored
Was that a 56 Chevy?
It's been a million years since I saw that show, but I thought it was something Mopar?
Yes, and he gave it a ground up concourse resto in a car port no less. In like a week. Who needs doors when you own a convertible 😂😂😂 Greg and Mike Brady’s screen chemistry was always comic gold.
At 7:15 Barracuda VIN tag held on with round rivets with washers.... Um No. Looks like a Tag Swap occurred
I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but did they have two different year Cuda Convertibles in that season? I see one pix (where Mike is moving crap out of the way while Greg is pulling in) and then another episode where Greg backs into Mom's station wagon. They each had different tail lights ('71 & '72 (custom made)).
As we now know, everything about the Brady Bunch was a lie.
Don't be talkin bout my Brady bunch like that.
Its almost like it was a fictional tv show , thats what they'd like us to believe. 😆

Mike was in the closet -
@@crspcritter And the mother was in the tent with one of the kids off-camera
It's even more interesting that after the "one of none" '72 Barracuda ragtop they split the product placement for '73-75 with Mike Brady driving big Chevy convertibles.
The Mod Squad TV show also featured a "special built" 1972 E body convertible, and as far as the Brady Bunch, Mike drove the convertibles, Carol had her grocery getter wagons. Poor Carol, LOL
lets not forget in the day you could special order anything with Crysler that even more special
Ha ha! I can't believe you covered this. I watched the Brady Bunch w and I knew there was no 1972 Barracuda convertible produced, but I figured it was made especially for the show. But when they made the show, they figured, who would notice?
I always thought it was a shame they didn't either bring back the A body ragtop for '72 or made the E's coupe-only all along and kept the A convertible...straight through to 1976. Makes an interesting what-if the Caddy Eldorado had a costar for the "Last Convertible" crown in the much cheaper Dart/Scamp.
i feel like i’m in college watching my professors having a cage match 😭
Richard over at gmg just bought a butterscotch 71 cuda 340 with whitewalls, one owner car.
12:00 Allysa brought the whole bakery with her....dang.
I had a 70 Barracuda with a 6 cylinder 3 speed, I'm not much of a six-cylinder guy but the car was only $500 it was last century and got good gas mileage and I understand that it was a pretty rare car even though it wasn't a performance model
I found a original 1969 Dodge Charger with a slant six, auto trans, in about 2005. I was original unrestored, needed everything. I missed it someone else snatched it up. I hope it was restored with the 6 cylinder in it. The originality of that alone was priceless.
This place is Mopar Heaven!
I agree!!
my mom owned a 1970 barracuda with a 318 automatic . and it was an robins egg blue color
Grill on van cought my eye as design cues found on older Dodge vehicles still on the face of todays Dodge. Would not have noticed but the Chrome made it pop right at you.👍🏻
I loved that intro! Great editing.
Here's a story of a man named Mark and his team, who are restoring so many lovely Mopars, that's all I got LOL
Mark needs to get cousin Dougy his barracuda back and restore it on the show. Just think because it can be found it should come home to Dougy
I also believe the carpenter who is still living owns a 70 cuda 440 with the red hockey stripe original black paint and he is the original owner so
Maybe it was a dealer option vs a factory option? Mark is pretty wily with the wording of his questions.
You`re right, and Richard Carpenter said he sat down and picked out the options he wanted.
@@willythewave it’s a jay Leno episode
@@chrisgreenaway6696 I know, I watched it.
@@willythewave don’t like mopar except for a 1971 duster from the ad
My first Mopar was a 1969 Dart Swinger 340 - 4 speed. My 2nd Mopar was a 1969 Coronet 500 convertible, 318 car but had a 440 transplant. I miss them both.
Tried to sell you the top of the line one of one 74 cuda ,but you were to cheap to make a respectable offer!
one of one 74 cuda?? theres gotta be a story behind that...??
Ego and tight fisted millionaire is what gets in his way!
Love this Show. 💖
Tony: "Most of the special stuff came out of Detroit"
Mark: ""Not all of it, but a lot of it"
Me: "THAT'S WHAT HE JUST SAID!"
Mark: "Alyssa, tell me what you like about the interior"
Alyssa "Well I"
Mark *immediately interrupts*
If Mike Brady wants a 1972 Barracuda convertible Mike Brady gets a 1972 Barracuda convertible.
I can't believe I just found this channel.
I couldn't get through even the first half of this video. Mark is just too annoying. I could feel the other employees cringing inside, and contemplating where else to apply for work.
Hey it's not even what midday where you are it's 21:22 here, get busy get busy 😅😂😂 I'm watching......Zombiiiieeeeees 😂😅🤣....then bed time 😬 ✌🏻❤️🙏🏻
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
They say there is a few Cudas from the Orginal Phantasm film that still are out there today. I still shed a tear each time I watch that Cuda get sacrificed for Don Coscarelli on the set of Phantasm 2.
I don't see how people work with this guy.
Mark was also wrong on the color of the General Lee too.
Ive watched this video many times and each time I have to give it a thumbs up something might be wrong with CZcams
Joe Mannix also drove a '72 Barracuda convertible in season 5, can be seen in episode Cry Pigeon, aired 1/26/72.
Why are we just finding this show now... The cars are friggin tight ...
this could such a great show if mark never talked.....seriously,he is toxic.
the rest of the cast and the cars are Great.
also,if you are a fan of the show, then you know already hes behind at least 2 YEARS on the customers cars so whos actually paying all those bills?
Have you noticed all mopar fanatics are the same? The reason old mopars are worth so much is they rusted to nothing in 3 years
@@outlawten5750 Yet they advertised all the rust-proofing they did at a the plant.
what i love about this show , other than allysa , is that MR Mark can insult his workers and guests , but has also figured out out how to insult at home viewers !
Damn all the Cudas... Just gimme that '74/'75 D100. I had a blue '74 D100 Custom that was a 318 2barrel truck and I put a 4 barrel on it for a couple months and I was smitten... To the point I put a 440 in it and tubbed it... Also had a white '75 D100 adventurer that I was gonna lift but ended up selling both trucks. I will always regret selling the '74. A lot of work and money went into it that I'll never get back. The memories I'll always have though...
Took a 4 speed 340 with a Carter Thermo Quad frpm a 71 Cuda and put it into a 62 Plymouth Valiant. Most fun car I ever had.
I was the owner of one of the 318 convertible with three speed but changed it out for 340 had no idea there was only 125 made mine was yellow with black top black interior paid 1100 in 74 for it sold it in 77 for 800
Let me tell you why I remember the Brady bunch car.
I was born in 1970. Convertibles had gone away by the time I was old enough to know what cars even were. I don't know when they stop making them, I don't know why they stop making them. But by 1975 or so, when I was starting be old enough to understand things, convertibles did not exist.
But we had reruns of the Brady bunch after school everyday. I remember the day I saw that car, and I thought it was the neatest thing in the world, because I had never seen a convertible before. To me, as a kid, convertibles were from antiquity, from a time "before I was born," and a thing of the past that I would never know in real life.
Of course, we all know convertibles came back later. But that's how it seemed to me when I saw that car.
Of course I didn't know enough about cars yet to know that it was a cuda. My dad even had a Challenger, but I was five. I only found out that car was a cuda when I watched another video, from another guy, who thinks he owns it now (He's pretty sure, but he didn't say he was certain) And he referenced this video when he was doing the walk around on it.
Good storey bro - !!!
That car was iconic
Yes it was Tom!
The ladies love their chocolate cookies - I'd hate to be that machine once the camera is off it.
Mark might want to look into some ginkgo biloba supplements. He's not getting any younger.
I like that they stopped rehashing all their videos everyday and acting like it was new stuff
Take a real good look at the picture where Mike is pushing the wagon. If you zoom in on the rear panel on the Barracuda, you will see that the car is a 1971. The second car was in fact a ‘72.
WOW ! Shocked this is your first Hollywood Knights viewing. Clair car guy 🍿
I had a 72 Charger with a 318 2 Barrel carb it was ok had a good take off but I had always wanted a 426 Hemi but after a few too many set backs thanks to a repair shop I traded for a Plymouth Duster but wish I had kept the Charger but that is a regret on my part
I clicked on your post because of the Brady Bunch car. Don’t like click bait. Unsubscribed.
Will a Viper V10 motor fit in a 71 CUDA ?
Yes. It has been done. It may have taken some body modifications on the firewall, but I have seen one.
Hahaha....as a kid growing up in Australia we used to watch the bunch religiously and never knew what this mysterious car was!🤣
👍🇦🇺
Clickbait.
I thought it would be a Brady Bunch episode where they had a cool old car in it and got this instead
Wow. Its almost like that was a TV show and NONE of is was real.
are1964 Plymouth sport fury 4 door cars worth much? 383 4 barrel
No.
The brady bunch 72 made conv. had the marker holes covered and they used decals as 71 markers. I thought you would have known that Mark.
In 1977 my Brother bought a 1974 Plymouth Barracuda 318 2bbl Automatic that was B5 Blue with a white interior white stripes down each side and a white vinyl top, how many Barracuda's came that way in 1974 as I wish he would've kept that car but in 1979 he traded the car in for a 1978 Ford F150 4x4 Leisure Time Products Customized Leisure Truck!!!!!
The Mod Squad - they had a 1971 DODGE CHALLENGER 340 CONVERTIBLE
Don't you have to let the paint sample dry to get a good match?
Fucking Ford Imperial Gold on an Aussie Fairmont, All scratched and dinged) - 5 variants, and ended up painting the bulk of the car.
Even the paint supplier was baffled, so I didn't have to pay for the actual paint, but what a shit of a job.
Great vid...................... 👍👍👍
I bet every time Tony comes down him and Mark have a nice lemon party 🥳
I thought my 71 Challenger was a manual top?
The mod squad had some nice mopars I believe challenges were used?
Mark is as funny as any comedian out there.
Imagine having all those VIN codes taking up room in your head
It's not hard, when you deal with them for a living. I was a mechanic at a Chrysler dealer in the late 70s. I didn't know all of them, but knew all the VIN break downs. I would go to the parts counter, to get a part I needed for a car, and the parts guy would rattle off the part number for a good number of parts, without opening the parts book.
Mark sounds like a real piece of work NOT
*15:45** She just don't give a fluck !*
