UPDATE: I must come clean, I found out after this video was published that the signature on the postcard is NOT Sean's (It looks very much like something Sean signed for me in 2007 when I met him in Liverpool !), but it is the signature of someone who I know would rather remain anonymous who helps manage the Lennon estate! Oops, my mistake! 😄

I took a 10 day trip with a Beatles tour group in 2013 for Beatles week. Our time was split between Liverpool and London. It was fantastic to see so many places that I had read about for many decades!! We stayed at the Adelphi. So many highlights but one of the best was the Casbah. Roag Best gave us the tour - he seemed a bit hungover from the previous evening. 😂 I would love to do it again. We met Freda Kelly. I just saw Freda and Chris O’Dell at the Chicago Beatlefest 2 weeks ago. I go every year for the full 3 days. This year they showed an almost completed film about Colin Hanton called PreFab. Love your videos!

    Hi mate
Good to hear you enjoyed Liverpool
This video woke up a lot of memories from my Beatlesweek visits. I went from 2016 up to 2019.
I wish I could go again, but my back is that bad, so I think I'll never get there again.
But I was great everytime. You said you saw an Indonesian cover band. In 2016 there was an Indonesian band as well.
In the band you saw, was 'Yoko Ono" on keyboards? In 2016, there was.
I visited The Casbah, and luckily I had a tour with Roag.
Of course The Liverpool Beatles Museum, Strawberry Fields and The Cavern.
In 2017 I went twice. In July and during Beatlesweek in August.
I talked for a while with Rod Davis and Len Garry at the Woolton Chyrch Hall m, exactly 50 years later. Goosebumps and tears when I left the Hall. I had to sit down at a bench at St. Peters Church graveyard. The bench was the first one on the left to honour Jimny Tarbuck. I was completely overwhelmed, being 54 years old,at that moment. Just like the screaming girls during the Beatlemania years.
When I went there I always meet a Liverpool bloke, whom I came in contact with via Catawiki
    Always a great time.
I ordered the Blaney book, McCartney Legacy Volume 2 and the Elliot Mintz one.
But I don't go for the Meditation Mixes. For me, it isn't John.
Maybe the McCartney SHM-CD's, but I am in doubt because they aren't the half-speed Mixes, but the Archive Mixes.
Keep listening records and take care

@@PeKe999 Thanks Pe, no there wasn't a keyboard player with the Indonesian band, BUT, I know there was more than one band from there on during the day so maybe the band you saw could have been there!

Andrew, I thought as you are a 'professional' Beatles fan you would be at the L'pool convention every year !! I've only missed a couple since 1986 !! great to see Chris O'Dell there,if you want to read a great music book her book 'Miss O'Dell' is fabulous working at Apple she saw it all, in the 'video room' at the convention she showed a 30 minutes of highlights of a new documentary about her amazing time with The Beatles, it features Patti Boyd and others and she is interviewed by Mark Lewishon in the film, it should be released before the end of the year on some streaming service, should be very intresting.

A little additional info; for what it's worth...In the book "A Day in The Life" The Beatles Day By Day by Tom Schultheiss 1980, he sites that the boys were at the Embassy Theatre in Peterborough, England, on the bill with Frank Ifield, Ted Taylor and Julie Grant December 10th, 1962, then the next posting is December 12th where George Martin comes to Liverpool to see Brian's new protege, Gerry Marsden and then attend an evening concert by The Beatles at The Cavern. So it surely must be December 11th, 1962 like you stated. Only 10 miles from Liverpool which they were on the 12th. So is Peterborough close to the La Scala Ballroom? If so, this all seems to check out. Thanks again for your posting and info!!

Nice video Andrew. I spent Friday to Tuesday trying to see as many events as i could.
Probably my highlight (apart from meeting you, of course) was seeing a talk with Colin and Rod from the Quarrymen which Roag Best put on at his museum on Saturday afternoon and then seeing them play live at the convention the following evening. I recorded them playing ISOATD on my phone but its possibly even lower quality than Percy Phillips managed in 1958!
In order, i attended events at LIPA on Friday afternoon (talks by David Bedford and Gary Astridge and various bands).
Saturday was the Quarrymen talk at Liverpool Beatles Museum in the afternoon and the Pete Best Band in the evening.
Sunday was the convention (talks by David Bedford, Ken Womack, Kevin Harrington, May Pang, The Quarrymen and various other bands in the Ballroom followed by the all nighter in the Adelphi's Wave Bar.
Monday, i didnt bother with the Pierhead gig, although it was included in my package, preferring to see a few bands in the basement of the Jacaranda. Then it was The Travelling Wilburys tribute in the Central Hall (not really my cup of tea but again, it was paid for so i went) followed by another almost all nighter in the wave bar. The Rolls, from Kyrgyzstan were possibly the most 'exotic' tribute band of the week. They were great though. Julia Baird was among the audience.
Monday i had about 5 hours in the Cavern for some more bands and souvenir shopping before driving back down to London.
While The Quarrymen and Pete Best were must see events from an historical point of view and many of the talks were fascinating, it was the sheer joy of being packed into some of the smaller venues, with other fans from different countries and different generations, listening to the Beatles music being played at high volume and at close quarters that i most enjoyed. Some of them had their own particular take on the music, some dressed up in the wigs and played faithful recreations of the old stuff. Didn't see anyone over the 5 days that was less than excellent.
Sorry this is turning into a novel, but ill finish by mentioning possibly the most random sight of the entire weekend. As i stepped out of the Wave bar briefly, to use the gents, there were a group of maybe 10 people sitting in the corner of the lobby. One guy had guitar and various other people were joining in playing shakers or tapping drumsticks on the furniture. The song the were singing as i went past was 'Happiness Is A Warm Gun'.

Hi Andrew, it was great to meet you yesterday at the convention. I think that it was the best one since the covid break. Yesterday there were loads of speaker guests and they were very accessible after having given their talks. Great stalls, of course but I agree that you need a good bank balance on the day (you may not have it the following day!).
It was a case of trying to fit everything in - live music, guests, stalls, live art with Shannon, films - needed to plot your day around it all. I hope that this standard continues in future years.
I think that your mystery autograph is that of Billy Kinsey. I can send you a photo of his autograph that I have which is from 2007 if you let me know how. You will see many similarities with yours (although I am not a handwriting expert!).
Once again, thanks for visiting us in Liverpool; thanks for all your great work and videos.
    All the best,
    Gordon.

The last Beatles week I attended was around the re release of the Yellow Submarine movie and the release of the songtrack. I still have all the promo stuff for that album that was given out while I was there. I got to see Sir George Martin, he was there for the movie's screening at the Philharmonc, but I sadly didn't get to speak to him. The John Blaney book looks fascinating, so glad the print is reasonably sized, especially for a blind as a bat without his glasses bloke like me, now in his early sixties. I was in Liverpool back in march to celebrate my 6oth and visited Strawbwerry Fields, had a great day out, and how they've really made that place a fantatsic place to visit. When I was there they had the famous Piano of John's that he wrote Imagine on, which is now the property of The George Michael Estate. Have you heard Julian's new single? It's out now with a great video. What struck me with this track is how Julian has got his own sound where his music is concerned, you here the first few bars, you know it's him. Also whilst on all things Lennon, one of the tracks from the Mind Games meditation mixes is available to stream or download and you can pre order the entire album from I-Tunes for £10.99. It's out on 11th october. I'm going to be in New York then, with plans to be at Strawberry Fields in Central Park on what would've been John's 84th. Anyhow, thanks so much for this video and also a big shout out to Beatley Tone, so good to see him looking so well and back on here posting video's. Take care my friend and Peace n Love to you and yours....

I want new Beatles box sets + dolby atmos blu-ray. Is it possible they will release new stereo / mono box sets, with the new audio restauration techniques? Still hoping all studio albums will get a box set, maybe they could combine early albums in one box set. An absolute joke apple is ignoring the demand for blu-ray, which seems no problem for e.g. Pink Floyd & their solo projects.
