    A very good video, you give a much better explanation than any I've seen for getting bigger yellowtail, thanks

    Thank you for the feedback. It will help me fine tune for better catches. I already know to cast past bait schools, let it sink and come back under them, that is where the other species big ones hang sometimes. I live in Big Pine Key since beginning of April.

    Thanks for passing on your knowledge Capt. Will be using a lot of the techniques you mentioned in the video. Maybe you can touch on the topic of what to do with those pesky barracuda’s taking your big YT’s / thanks again, keep doing what you’re doing 👍

      You're welcome! Those cudas.. man, good cut bait, but all we can do is deal with them... Not sure what's worse, Chum all day to get bull sharks all over us eating our cobia and snapper, or cudas biting anything in half.. AHHH!!

    I have only seen people put chum bags at the back of the boat. Are you saying that you have 2 "chumming stations" deployed here? Bow and midship? Are they both down deep? Thank you.

    Are you anchored or drifting?

    • @RichieLott
      @RichieLott Před 10 měsíci

      We're anchored when we do this type of chumming.. However, in some areas of scattered natural bottom, we will drift with a similar method. On coral laden bottom such as patch reef in the Keys, we would rather stay still and make the fish come to us due to the large amount of habitat on the edge of the reef.

    *You get flag yellow tail at your chumbag if you have a lot of meat chunks in your chum. Flag yellow tail want meet and will come close. Oats and small chunks of pogy are for small yellowtail, if you catch a cuda, chunk him but use small chunks for hook on bait. Never cast 15 yards back, flags will come to the back of the boat. One line in the water at a time, do not cast. No wait. Duh!
