Swear Sundowning was like "Shall we do this?" And TPWBYT is "Let's fooking do it!" and man I can't wait for their third album now, sometime in 2024 or 2025.
I hear deftones vocal and word patterns in this, that remind me of Chino. Theres a hint of deftones ambient sound in this guys singing style. Word placement and all that. You can even picture Chino singing it. Whch is a good thing.
Can't stop listening to this album. I discover something new every time. Wachting the visualizers from front to back with the music videos in between is such a journey! I already did it three times. The start and finish of this album are so strong and everything in between stands for itself. My faves are Atlantic, Mine, Distraction, High Water and Missing Limbs. Worship!
I'll shoot you straight, I can't get with Missing Limbs and Like That. However, the ones I disliked at the start and fuckin adore now are Telomeres and High Water. But uh... Atlantic is in a league of it's own. Interpreting it as if "I woke up surrounded, eyes like frozen planets, orbiting the vacuum I am," as waking up in a hospital bed after a suicide attempt... then "They talk me through the damage, consequence, and how it's a pain they know they don't understand." interpreted as doctors explaining how his life will be different after trying to take his own life... That whole fucking stanza wrecked me for days on end. Genuinely fucking wrecks me.

No. While they're both very good bands, Spiritbox and Sleep Token are very different. Spiritbox is a Modern Metal band with melodic and athmospheric influences. Sleep Token is a Sleep Token band.

High Water is fucking god tier. The Love You Want is absolutely mesmerizing too, though. And Alkaline. And Mine. Just...the whole album.
