Toyota Hilux diesel injectors flogged to the absolute last millimeter of their life probably has blow by leaking injector seats at the base of the Injector in this 1KDFTV diesel engine and blow smoke on start up nasty!

Mine 300k lol I'm actually doing major service rite now my injectors are fine. Ot blowing any smoke at all no noisy injectors. But I'm doing all rear wheel bearing and all bushes

40,000 ks on my Anthony injector package going great so far, special plate , full clean and mesh in the sump still spotless each 5k service.

Sigh . 40,000kms is like every 2years for some of us to change expensive injectors....sigh...so basically hilux are high maintenance ..not unbreakable

140 thousand k is more likely the case. Toyota advises changing the heat shield washers between injector and cylinder head every 40k but it's opening Pandora's box.

You don't change your injectors every 40,000kms.

Here in South Africa we seem to get much, much higher km before we change injectors.
Son in law's Hilux bakkie/ute now just short of 600 000 km. First change of injectors at around 450 000 km.
My 2012 prado 150 now heading for 180 000km still on first set.
What I noticed when visiting our son in Aus is that the Ausies tow very large trailers/boats/caravans. Perhaps that is the difference.
We also travel long distances on gravel roads in very hot (or cold) conditions.
