  • In this video, i will build 3S 40a li-ion battery pack using Lithium ion Cells.
Item required for this project are :
1). 12pcs of li -ion cells.
    2). 1pcs (BMS 40a).
    3). nickel strips.
    4). spot welding machine.
    5). some good quality wires.
    Thanks for watcing.

The previous commenters are confusing Amps with Amphours.
For example: A typical Samsung 30Q 18650 cell has 3000mAh of capacity. (3 Amphours). However, it can deliver 15 Amps of current to a load.
Some people mistakingly call it a 3 Amp cell, instead of a 3Ah cell.
Other people call it a 15 Amp cell, because it can deliver 15 Amps continuous to a load.
Please understand the difference between Amphours…. And Amps.
Amphours is a measure of how much CAPACITY a cell contains.
Amps is a measure of how much CURRENT the cell can deliver. Those are two completely different things.
Some commenters clearly don’t know the difference!
Now, I can calculate the Amphours of the cells in the video to be 2 Amphours fairly easily. However, I don’t know the current delivery of those cells in the video.(Amp rating)
I looked up this 18650 and found it on Ali-express. It has a maximum current delivery of 2C. (That means 4 Amps for these cells).
Ok, so each cell can produce a max of 4 Amps and there are four in parallel… so this is a 3S4P design, 8Ah battery with a maximum current delivery of 16Amps.
Please do your homework before commenting.

Hi there if your BMS is not giving output please check your connection and also check the order of your battery connection you can. Follow my video and then also your didn't get output then take a 12v lithium ion battery charger also remember that you connect your BMS then you have given in put of 12v charger to your battery pack for 2 to 3 minutes after that check with multimeter that BMS is giving output or not . Still you don't get output please replace your BMS or lithium ion cell . Thank you...

Most strange, I followed your video and constructed a pack identical with yours. After balancing and charging I found that 8 cells balanced perfectly at 3.8v and the remaining 4 at 3.4v used the same balance board as you did. All cells were spot welded and had good connection. Any Ideas ?

You have four cells in parallel, so max charging for this 3S4P design is 4 Amps. Anything higher than 4 Amps and you will damage the cells and possibly start a fire.
