► In this video, I head to the newly reopened Disneyland Hotel in Disneyland Paris, to try lunch at the Royal Banquet restaurant. Royal Banquet is the most expensive Disney Buffet restaurant in the world! I ate dinner there a few weeks back and loved it, so wanted to see what the lunch experience is like. Lunch at the Royal Banquet is the only option for guests NOT staying at the Disneyland Hotel. As long as you're staying in an official Disney hotel, you have the option to book lunch at the Royal Banquet, and this is how I managed to do it (I had one night at the Cheyenne). The lunch buffet options are a little different to dinner, so I hope this video is helpful if you're choosing to eat at this 100 Euro Disneyland Paris buffet restaurant! As nice as the food looks, I would be sick to my stomach paying €100 for lunch. One stop away on the train and I can feed my entire family in a restaurant in Val D'Europe for the same money. Disney is taking the Mickey (excuse the pun)

Thank you for your honest review, it really is great to see as some disney vloggers don't do that and it really means a lot to know you understand for many we save hard for disney holidays and things like this are a treat so its important to know where to spend our money

That’s really good news to here that everyone has the opportunity to visit the Disneyland hotel in order I think since some guests can’t afford this hotel it really gives them the perfect opportunity to allow guests to go inside ❤❤
We have lunch booked for March and we are staying in Cheyenne so your videos are amazing help! I’m glad this has us prepared that it may not be the same amazing experience as the dinner but fingers crossed!🤞🏻

Good review Sam. Disney''s pricing is pricing a lot of families out. They're increasingly targeting the rich and I don't think these people will be happy with service like this. 300 euros for a family meal and then the characters don't show up. It just isn't worth it. You can let the Cast Members know but as you point out you're then losing valuable time from being in the park from waiting all that time.
That’s when the dining plan comes in handy as it’s a lot cheaper! Looking forward to do this in a few weeks

Hi Sam! I visited the Banquet for lunch last week and honestly had the time of my life! All the characters came round to our table at least three times each! We sat in the same room as you but by the window and it seemed as though every other table was occupied so it was quite quiet which was nice. It’s such a shame you didn’t have as good as an experience as we did and the consistency issue does make me worried to book it again as €100 is a lot to only see the characters once briefly 😞 thank you for trying the lunch to compare it to dinner!

Interesting to get a second take Sam! We did the lunch slot too but we were in the room where the food is, we had all four characters within the first half an hour or so… and then got all four of them again towards the end. The menu however, was completely different to this! There certainly were no chicken nuggets, also no duck pie (it was a joint of beef), no mushrooms, and I noticed the CUTE Tiana desserts seem to be missing this time… and I loved those! Perhaps they’re still experimenting with the menu to decide what’s popular with guests, but the banquet seems 50% different to when I went for lunch two weeks ago… and character wise, we also had Donald and Daisy. Whilst there’s no fixed pattern, it seems that the ducks are most often at lunch with Goofy and Pluto at dinner…
Glad lunch was a better experience for you :) The characters was just a fluke, I think. Yeah, the food options will differ day to day, possibly cuz they also want to keep it different for very rich guests staying at the hotel (who may want to eat there every night of their trip!). As long as it's enough variety every time, and enough "expensive" food like lobsters, then it's fine, I guess?
I also had at plaza garden, i was on solo trip and the characters keep skipping me but lucky a staff member asked me if i all ready meet one and i didn't, so at the end i meet the characters all after each other 😂
I think it’s slightly unfair that the food choice seems less compared to dinner, when it’s the exact same price. Looking forward to trying it in October though :) glad about the chicken bites my son will be happy 😊

I’m visiting in May. Would you be able to do an updated accessible video for the priority pass. I am entitled to one but I’m worried I don’t know the spots for the parades, shows etc and where to go for rides. Your last one was really good but an update would be great- especially to ease my anxiety ❤

Character dining experiences can already be stressful as is, but waiting for characters that never come and having to talk to cast members about it sounds even more stressful. I imagine it was hard to enjoy those last three character meets as well since you just wanted to get it done with and leave by that point. A shame for sure

Is lunch available if your staying in any disney hotel but tea is only for dlh guests, did I get that right? I'm really going to miss getting my ap discount but I just can't justify the new prices. Ive been a few times to eat at inventions before it changed worst time i unfortunately went was easter so higher prices but unfortunately i think they tried to cram too many people in and a lot of people missed characters as the line for food was too long. My husband missed a lot of them i tried asking if they could come back so he could see them and they refused.
Best time was when all 7 drawfs were there aswell as snow white

It’s a shame that you had that issue with the characters we had them come to us multiple times during lunchtime but might have been because we were on the first session and in the buffet room. I loved the food quality but yes maybe some extra options would have been good outside of the seafood area

What do you do with your stuff when you are dining at a buffet alone or even with 2 and want to get food at the same time? Im always scared my stuff will be gone but I also dont wanna take everything with me everytime. A buffet is already difficult enough to navigate 😂
I take my camera and phone with me, the rest I generally leave at the table. Normally, it's nothing too valuable. But if you're worried, the best thing is to just leave a coat/hoodie on the chair and take your bag with you :)

What are the other options for meeting Donald and Daisy? Last year we met M and M at their pop up but my daughters were disappointed to not meet the Ducks! X
They don't have any permanent meet & greet locations atm, but sometimes pop up in Fantasyland/Adventureland :)

I’m confused. I’m staying in the Marvel hotel and I’ve gone to see if I can book the lunch but it says I need to be staying in Disneyland Hotel
It shouldn't say that, as long as you've connected your booking to the app/website.

We are going to go but having seen this review I think I will need to clean up the oysters and langoustines to make the price worth it! 😂
Best way to eat oysters is to put plenty of vinegar and shallot sauce on it, loosen it with a fork and then slurp it up using the shell like a spoon! But you described exactly what I love about oysters, that they taste like the sea 🌊
At the very least the kids will eat the chicken bites and mac & cheese so those were good to see! Thanks Sam!

It is a catch 22 situation with character dining…
You want to eat your food and enjoy it,but you want to meet the characters and not have a mouthful of food…
Imagine how heartbroken a child would be not meeting the characters but seeing them greeting everyone else…
They should work round on a rota system…
€100 no way especially as you kept saying not as good as dinner last night..
