- Newcastle United are in the market for new attacking midfielders and their prime target is Leipzig's Dominik Szoboszlai who has had a great season in the German Bundesliga. Eddie Howe wants to build a squad capable of competing in both the Premier League and Champions League next season so he will be hoping to add £60m 22 year old Szoboszlai to the first team squad this summer.

I have seen him a number of times over the last few years, not in the telly, but live in the stadium at Leipzig as I live close by. He is an allrounder. He can easily fill in the spot as the right winger as well as a central midfielder on either side or even on the left wing. He is two footed, so to speak. He isn't the biggest goal scorer, but he is very much a playmaker. Something that Newcastle needs very much. Him and Trippier on the right hand side would be a force to reckon with. What you haven't adressed yet is how good his set pieces are. He isn't as good as Ward-Prowse is, yet, but I dare say there are not a lot of players in the world that are as good as him. Whether it's corners or free kicks, he is very dangerous. If Newcastle can get him and go after said Ward-Prowse, Newcastle would be the most dangerous team in the world at set pieces. Imagine them and Trippier fight over who gets to take a free kick. Either way, if you can get him for 60 million, he'll be worth 100 shortly thereafter.

If you care, in Hungarian we differentiate between S and Sz, single S is the S from Sugar, however Sz is the S from Steven the z stays numb it only indicates which one. The “i” at the end of a person’s name should always be pronounced as “e”.

In the long term he’s a better signing then Maddison & I can’t see us signing both, however Maddison is prem proven, not saying he can’t do it here I’m sure he can but high risk high reward
I reckon the club would rather take that risk tbh. It fits the model of what they’re trying to achieve. It’s whether we can sway him over Liverpool if they come in for him.
He would be preferable to Maddison, tbh. (I'm not convinced with Maddison).
I think we should sign both. Maddison will get us an extra 10-15 points next season. If his performances for Leicester at the start of the season were for us, at a time when we were struggling for goals, we would have been in the title race. He'll allow the other new players to take their time settling in.

Love a player of his quality but I didn't realise he was trying to pimp himself out to city and liverpool. We cant be falling into the trap of getting players that think we're a stepping stone for liverpool etc. That just causes disruption, and messes with the harmony in the dressing room imho.
I haven't seen when he's actually said those things about Pep and Klopp. I could be wrong but I don't think it was in the same interview he did recently for the Hungarian publication. It's entirely possible they were made before our meteoric rise up the table and into the champions league this season. In any case Pep and Klopp have been the standard bearers in recent years for elite European quality, that doesn't mean you wouldn't accept a club other than Man City or Liverpool, he more than likely seen them as aspirational targets. But perceptions can change very quickly in football.

You are right, the "Klopp interview" was couple of years ago. He mentioned not only Pep and Klopp, but Mourinho and said, there are a good few managers (in the pl) any football player would be happy to play under. I read a recent - Hungarian - interview and didn't want to name managers or teams, but he made clear, he is ready to move. Would be interesting to see a Hungarian play for NUFC. For me as a Hungarian with a Geordie husband, definitely. 🤘
For me most important target should be winger or even wingers, we need a goal scoring wingers. Obviously we need players on midfield position to.Madison will be 30 after new year but szoboszlai only 22 ŕ

Not even close to Maddison. It amazes me that everyone wanted Madders and a few rumours and a couple of CZcams videos later lots of folk have been pursuaded that this Guy is better for us than Maddison (like the folk who wouldn’t have Kane and his 25+ goals per season 🤷🏻♂️). Maddison is a consistent top premiership player, he would be a game changer for us.

Food for thought- E Howe is a cracking developer of young players. This guy is only 22 and already capo of his country. Any thought my toon brothers.
alot se him play becuse he also play CHL football, and many all watch BL he is great super player, but 1 thing Maddison has over him is Maddison is proven in PL but fans, has diffrences tast in players, dont think any will be dispoint if we get either of them.
