you should definitely check out the live stage of obsession! theres EXO version and X-EXO version and another one where they combined both in one single video....its not like a normal live stage it is high quality and its there in their own youtube channel!
The choreo is very intricate if you watch the dance practice and a lot of the moves incorporate the clone concept...
fun fact: obsession was chosen as the best kpop song of 2019 by billboard critics!
If she does react to it, it would be better to react to the exo version and the x-exo version, instead of those two combined. Because i see many reactors react to the stage mix version but it's better to see the original stages in its full form first

You can fit Obsession lyrics into their concept for the album but the actual lyrics is about self doubt and mental health issues, how it keeps creeping and trying to possess you (it changes reality and keeps changing how we see things). When you're struggling with mental health issues it's an endless battle of the "disease/problem" saying "I want you" and you saying "I don't think so". You're battling against yourself and the darkness inside you.

EXO Chen is a bias wrecker of the highest order with that fluffy black hair and I love Baekhyun's silver and Chanyeol's pink hair. I have nothing else to say about this MV as there is so much to say and everyone else seems to have it covered one way or another. Well done on trying to work it out. This is why I enjoy your reactions so much!
Normal suho's not just floating normally, but the blue light is like he's floating in his own element (water)

@@meryemseid9827 Suho said in an interview (the iHeart one, I believe) that he used his power to drain all the water from X-Suho; that's probably what's happening (he's pulling all the water in the area to him). That's why we see the shots of the hands coming out of dark water for X-Suho plus the shot of X-Suho grasping his throat looking dried out plus the "statue" splitting.

Ahhh! This by far this is favorite mv from them. I like how they paired the members up, it gave me chills. It’s funny how you found X-EXO scary 😆 For me I think this concept is the superior concept of the superior concepts.
19:21 I mentioned it in some replies and someone else mentioned in another comment, but Suho semi-explained what he was doing in the MV in EXO's iHeart interview for Obsession. He pointed out that people are made up of nearly 70% water. He's using his power to essentially pull all the water out of everything in the area (that's why he appears to be floating and there's a quick shot of him in a submerged city) & we also see dark hands reaching out of water towards X-Suho, X-Suho looking dried out, and later the "statue" splitting. It kinda confirms, in my opinion, the theory that they are physical dark clones of EXO made by the Red Force, whole separate beings (and some teaser stuff confirms that too!), and both EXO and X-EXO have their powers to some extent.
I'm interested, based on your remarks about being creeped out by X-EXO's visuals, how you'll handle X-EXO's member teaser videos~~~^.^
P.S. In the Power of Music album there are written out descriptions of the members' power including some more unique ways each member can use their power; for example, Baekhyun can use his power over light to create illusions, like holograms. It's an interesting read, but sadly because Lay wasn't part of that comeback there's no description for his powers; I'm really curious if they'll give his healing an offensive ability!

favorite exo concept hands down if my bastard icon doesnt give it away... i love the way the album is too and how even some of the less intense songs still feel “off” cant wait for that. obsession the “do you have anxiety? You Will” comeback

What you saw in the "Obsession" MV was that EXO's doppelgangers were actually their alter ego clones and they were using their superpowers, such as Chanyeol with his fire power, Sehun uses his wind power to deflect the arrows, Baekhyun uses his power of light in his fencing match and Suho controls water in the room with all the pictures of water, etc. to fight their other selves. You see the planet on fire in the end of the MV because it's supposed to show how the world is coming to an end as EXO (the good guys in all black) and X-EXO (the evil ones in the colorful outfits with crazy hair and makeup) battle for control, etc.
X-EXO has been created by the evil Red Force and EXO and X-EXO are fighting each other. EXO are trying to prevent X-EXO from taking over and corrupting humanity and X-EXO are trying to stop EXO from finding the Tree of Life and putting the two halves back together and restoring peace, etc.
So each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. However, the introduction of "Obsession's" part of the story really threw all of our theories for a loop and it has made us question everything we have ever thought was happening in EXO's storyline. Since "Obsession" some think maybe EXO has been trapped somewhere from the very beginning and it has been X-EXO that we have been following all along. But I think it's still even more complex than that. I think at times we have been watching EXO and at times we have been watching X-EXO -- with the release of "Obsession" we have only just discovering that it hasn't necessarily been EXO the whole time.
With the new information provided to us through "Obsession," it also makes me question how Lay fits within the X-EXO/EXO storyline. Maybe he is one of the members who has been able to break free or avoid the Red Forces' control. In Lay's solo MV for "Sheep," the Allen Walker relift version, we see everything burning outside as if an apocalypse is happening. Maybe "Sheep" is showing us the planet burning from Lay's viewpoint, like we see the world burning at the end of the "Obsession" MV.
Also, I believe that the storyline in "Obsession" is connected to SuperM's "Jopping" storyline. If you pay attention to what Baekhyun and Kai were wearing in the "Obsession" MV, those outfits are very similar to the black outfits that Baekhyun and Kai are wearing in "Jopping." Kai is even wearing the same backpack parachute in both MVs. Which seems to be SM Entertainment's way of making sure we see the connection between those MVs. So because the members in black are supposed to be the EXO members who are the good guys, it seems to also indicate that the members who are in SuperM are the EXO members and not their X-EXO clones. So it is thought that, as part of SuperM's storyline, EXO has gathered the best of the best of SM's groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT/WayV -- to help them battle the Red Force and maybe eventually take down X-EXO. Just like the Marvel Avengers come together as individual superheroes with their own storylines to create the Avengers and to fight evil, it is thought that SuperM is coming together to create the ultimate supergroup to help EXO fight the evil and corruption inflicted on humanity by the Red Force.
You don't know who wins because the story isn't over yet. They battle continues in their future and past MVs. The battle continues within SuperM's and aespa's storyline, etc. as well. Nothing is in chronological order, so even though this was the most recent MV, this isn't necessarily the most recent part of their storyline. Things within their past MVs may have actually taken place before what you see happening in "Obsession." Nothing is in linear order, so you really have to connect the dots sometimes. ;P
If you want to get into EXO's theories more you should watch all 23 of their pre-debut teaser videos and their 10 Pathcode teasers that are part of their "Call Me Baby" era. (They are all on SM's CZcams channel.) Things like the marbles you see D.O. with in "Don't Fight the Feeling" are connected to D.O.'s Pathcode teaser storyline, etc. There teaser videos aren't just teasers to the specific MV that they go with, but they often are designed to be an extension of their storyline, that is why we say you have to pay attention to every minute detail.
I can't wait for you to now get into the members solo and sub-unit music, especially Lay's solo music. Lay's MVs in particular help connect him to EXO's storyline at times when he wasn't able to work directly with EXO and all of EXO-CBX's MVs are connected to the storyline. That's not to say that everything else isn't also connected, but Lay and CBX have some of the most important parts of the storyline.
19:08 yes, it's Suho. His power is water and human body is mostly water, so I believe it's the visualization of how he would look like if all the water was gone from his body. If that makes sense.
They are kind of using their powers. Sehun shoots X-Sehun and gets shot himself because X-Sehun uses wind to turn it around etc They are pretty much fighting each other (Chen vs X-Chen; you can see them both sitting at the chess table facing each other etc.)

I'm also kinda freaked out by X-EXO to the point where I can't really be attracted to them... Even when I ordered the album, I kept hoping and praying I'd get the regular EXO version (which I did!) and I prefer the regular EXO live stages too. Don't get me wrong, I looooove the concept but I'm a regular EXO loyalist for sure! lol

I've always theorised that the bit with Kai in the inverted colours is him inbetween worlds, considering his teleportation power. I haven't seen too many people saying the same, so idk if this is just me... but it makes sense to me, haha.
Suho's power is water, right, which means he can dry out a person, haha. I believe he spoke about that in one of the interviews during promo for Obsession. How a person is 60% water, and how he can pretty much dry someone out, or something. heavy paraphrasing here :')

Idk if I'm right, but my theory is that the fact that they have split selfs started when they were captured back in overdose, lucky one shows us its continuation with them being injected some kind of blue liquid, that same blue liquid is seen as a concoction xiumin makes in love me right and later in kokobop they take it in as well, this has allowed another of them to be formed but they are not them. Actually idk what I'm writing also, but it's just fun trying to think and connect all their mv details. I'm most likely wrong hahaha sorry for the long unnecessary message

there is an exo theory on obsession, rennari. if you like you should watch it. and almost all of their songs have a theory with regards to their concept. this is to help you understand their songs better.

I saw that someone already wrote it, the lyrics also fit quite well to a sasaeng and in the scene where Baek is fencing and all those red eyes are watching represents the media.
