I haven’t been this excited for a new product in decades.
I am really looking forward to this, I have already purchased the go, then the mini and am going to get the spark 2 and the live. I just love the tone and simplicity. Each one has its job in terms of volume / portability. Just being able to plug into an iPad and Logic without having to fire up a separate DAW / laptop means I play and create more. I just make sure I have a guitar next to couch and wireless connect to amp and bingo. No wires. Recharge once a week. Well done PG! 🙏🏻
Same. I wasn't a believer til I bought the Spark Go. I have a decent collection of vintage tube amps and yet the Spark Go really impressed me.

Spark v1 was an amazing practice amp, I wish i had access to it when i was first learning guitar, would have made life so much easier. The Spark 2 looks like a monster upgrade!

This upgrade would be lovely but my nephew bought me a SPARK 1 as a present recently so it’s sentimental to me and great so wouldn’t want to replace it and buying an extra amp would be too much of a luxury ! I just need to learn guitar properly 😝
But a looper would be good. Any way to use a looper with the original SPARK ?
@@steffyweffy777You'll still be good to go just plugging in your guitar into a looper pedal and then a second cable out from the looper pedal into the input of your spark. ✌️

The bass has been completely redesigned. It's a combination of a new speaker configuration (2x 4" FRFR angled horn speakers + 2x reflex ports for improved bass response) and HD remastered amp models courtesy of a dedicated Sonic IQ Computational Audio chip. The improved tube emulation and virtual bass augmentation from the chip provide a tighter, clearer, and more dynamic sound and the low-end range is no exception.
A lot of people complain about that but i always thought it sounded good. Now i do back off the bass some but i dont think its unusable as a practice amp by any means. I just use it in the living room because it’s far less conspicuous than a traditional amp.
I love my Spark. This looks like a fantastic evolution of the platform.

What'll be the upgrade price for users with a registered spark 40?
Nice Demo. I appreciate the Spark 2 Looper having a count in feature. ALL Looper's should have this count in feature for dummies like me who are really bad at timing the press of the looper pedal to start looping! 🤪 Audio Interface? Android App?
It's been mentioned elsewhere it's an audio interface, the Android app already exists.

I’ve primarily used my Spark with headphones and haven’t had an issue with muddy bass heavy tone that these speakers are known for. This thing does the job, I returned my Katana for it. As of now I don’t have a need to upgrade but I am considering getting a Scarlet and Guitar Rig or Amplitube. I want my GnR solos to sound tighter.
Ordered one, my first Positive Grid purchase. The battery operation is a great addition to the equation, and added the Control X and bag to get the best of its capabilities. I’m hoping it’ll be the perfect grab-and-go thing.

They charge extra for everything.. Battery. Wireless. Pedal. Hendrix style.etc... Can you use a different wireless that's not from Spark ??
Can I re-arrange the order of affects? Can I use more than 6? That was the big issue with me, and stopped using the app and product altogether.
This. It feels like a lite version of Bias and I'm hoping for it to be similiar Bias FX 1/2 someday...

I don’t like having to have the app on and Bluetooth connected to use features. I understand it for editing patches, but if I’m practicing or performing often I’m using my phone or tablet for other things like charts or recording… or even text or calls.

I appreciate the direct sound comparisons. That alone has me excited as v2 sounds more lively and dynamic, without that bass heavy muffledness you have to dial out of v1.
did they fix the sound balancing issue where the Bass was WAY too heavy even when turned all the way down?
Just got mine today. So for sounds great. Took me awhile to figure out WiFi and Bluetooth connections to firmware update . How do you use Spark X Controller to control looper ?
II have the 40 and was getting ready to purchase the mini for travel but I might just buy the 2 and then use the 40 for travel.
Does the speaker sim support custom IR files? Its become a standard feature in pretty much every digital platform now so hopefully this hasnt been overlooked.

Have the Go. Been researching a more substantial amp including Tube Amps and half stacks. But me thinks the Spark 2 basically seals the deal with the looper, drums and the software being so easy. The alternative if course is a JTM45 and a pedal collecting addiction! But think the options, looper, drums, smart Jam and ability to find new songs and play along just blows everything else away including in my view dare I say it the Katana! Now what’s the New UK RRP likely to be 🤔
Can you save your loop with drum track? So later you can just click on it when you want to jam?
Does version 2 solve the problem of newer Android devices automatically disconnecting the app after 30 seconds?
Will it have a pitch shifter option? Like the digitech drop?

I just received it today. I felt excited until I tried to connect it to my spark cab using the left mono output not the headphone jack. It still muted the spark 2, I thought I was going to have 50 + 140 watts output. It was the reason I upgraded. I'm disappointed. Now I see why no one is talking about it on reviews in youtube. Or maybe I just don't know how to do it.
Why did you remove the AMP SELECTION KNOB? Now we have to use the app to select amp mode, which is used far more often than the preset selection! Bad move there vs the Spark-40. Can the foot switch be used to select the amp models, at least?
Good that it's not boomy any longer, though...
How much does the 'optional' battery add to the price? I didn't see it on the PG website - or here.

Will it have lengthen overdub features like the ditto looper+? I use that all the time… have a loop, and repeat it for the new overdub that lengthens the total loop.
Also, footswitch looping!
It looks great! My only nitpick with the looper is how can you record perfectly timed loops without a footswitch? Seems like a missed opportunity there.
Has the Spotify connection issue been fixed with the Spark app so that I can import songs from Spotify to play on the new Spark 2?

Spark 2 is compatible with both Spark Control and Spark Control X.

I'm wondering if it's 100% compatible with the Spark 40, concerning presets and stuff. Is it the same app? And I own a XSONIC Airstep Spk Edition, can I use it with the Spark 2...? Thank you!
Spark 2 officially supports Spark Control and Spark Control X. The Spark App and 40 presets are totally compatible. We will have instructions on how to migrate your presets at launch, so that you don't miss a beat upgrading.
Does the line-out cut off the speaker?

I just got the Spark 2 and having an issue when using the looper. I hit record and about 10 seconds into recording, it is auto-switching to play. Any ideas?
From what I’ve found (in 2 days) - in Simple, (using the panel) it’s only 4 measures long 🤷🏻♂️
That’s makes sense. The support said I had it in auto mode but it’s not. I can record ok on app. But in CZcams I do notice it switching automatically. Case Solved.
Well, I finally got into the phone app…. And we can change the length up to 16 measures - but perhaps the default is 4 🤷🏻♂️

Is there independent volume control for the speakers vs the output jacks by any chance? Can you use the cab speakers and the outputs simultaneously, or does one bypass the other?

Had spark 40 since it's inception . Modded with battery .Got rid 18m ago for a katana because of the looper or lack of and the line output problem. Looks like I'm back.
Careful on the line out - this one mutes the speakers apparently. Don't know if they can change this in a firmware update, or if it's physically built into the circuit. Daft choice either way. Katana one also is separate from the master volume - another must in my book.
Is ai function available on mini?

Is the grille magnetic? I don't see any velcro. Also, will there be custom grilles available like there are for other spark models?
How many seconds does it allow for your loop?
Does the Control X connect directly to the Spark 2 as it does with Live so the app doesn’t have to be open? Does the Control X work with the simple looper (the one that is controlled by the hardware buttons) without the app?
Found the first answer - YES, per the product web page under the Wi-Fi blurb! Just need to figure out the 2nd question.
I usually am not too impressed with these, but this is quite promising, it looks great and it looks like real upgrades to the Spark which I love! Looking forward to this. Great video ! Anyone knows the price ?

Apparently not. It can be used without the app but I wouldn't write that off as a license for stability.

Biggest downfall with both Spark 1 and now 2 is the songs still being in chord formation. Tablature surely could have been added to this latest model and certainly for the solo’s on songs you want to learn.

@@ArgonautDrums When used with an FRFR, both sets of speakers would create phase issues, which is why line-outs typically bypass internal speakers (even in standard combo amps).
owned multiple spark products physical and software and I've never been disappointed! the tech for guitarists is frankly amazing.. but to play devils advocate I always thought the form factor of the og spark wasn't.. it's a brick. about as portable an an 80's boom box lolz the spark 2 is definitely firmly on my radar. but I'll be waiting to see the price before even thinking about committing. but put this tech in a spark mini .... and I would crack my wrist getting my CC out ...

I'm quite disappointed with my Spark 2. Compared to the Spark 40 there are 2 big issues for me:
1) Much reduced gain/distortion on amp models.
2) A very mid scooped tone.
My 2 favourite amp models on Spark 40 were Lux Verb and Plexiglass. Neither now have the level of distortion of even the real amps. I own 3 real Plexis. The Lux Verb model is almost impossible to distort with a Strat vs the Spark 40 where you could get amazing crunch.
I really don't like the scooped eq on the Spark 2. They should let us decide if we want Metallica eq, not force it on everybody.
Yes, I can really hear the added fidelity of the Spark 2 vs the Spark 40 but I'm afraid the Spark 40 is a much sweeter sounding amp.

It doesn't seem that much of an improvement. It would have been better if you could download your Bias FX presets. As it is it seems like it is still the very simplified version of Bias FX. I know your amp is aiming for portability as well as for the beginners, but it would have been great if you could start producing something that challenges Neural DSP.
At an amp for £300? Not all that likely I'd say. They tried much more expensive head in the past and it didn't sell for them.
I am pissed that Overloud beat Positive Grid to it with David Gilmour pack after all these years. They just rolled out the actual Hiwatt / WEM David played on Animals record and supporting tour. How does one beat that now? And Tony Iommi's personal Laney too. But I wanted PG to do it, not these guys! 😡🤬
Wow. First PG gets tons of people to buy the cab, then they release the Spk live which tons of people have bought, and now this. Pure greed. I have been on board since JamUp through Bias FX 2, love them, but where are the Celestion speakers promised coming soon from the time of release. They put out the Jimi and Omnyss packs out to purchase, but still no Celestions. I also have a Riff (bad marketing), Spk Go and Mini. Love them,, but I’m done with PG.

I think every single person in the entire universe knows that this amp has too much bass. It would be nice to know if they fixed that.
And then of course there is the idea of a volume pedal. I don't think I've ever seen a rock musician play in a band without one. And with digital amps you need volume pedals after the signal processing. Perhaps in a loop of some type. I mean even the catalyst has a send and return loop.
I could add of course what about the line in? What about all the billions of pedals that all the millions of musicians could be using if there was a simple line in on the amplifier? How many social media groups based on modding this amplifier have done this already?
Have the mini, the go and now want this. Pissed that they make battery optional. Thats the 1 reason I like those others.
Any idea on pricing with and without battery?
