Josh from the Game Helpin' Squad actually tries to get some work done. Or, rather, he complains about how people didn't appreciate it when he got some work done.
I loved Google Wave, without it... I would have failed History. Several of my classmates all shared a wave to take our notes on. We would attach our reading notes, and take over each others responses. Made building a study guide for tests easy.
Well, yeah, but also you could publish the chat as a blog post, and edit documents, and there was a chess game for some reason? And people can go back and edit their earlier remarks so you have no idea who said what when, or even where you should be replying, but don't worry you can turn the whole thing into a damn Facebook retrospective video, like "Hey, user! Remember when you tried to use Google Wave but it was a hopelessly confused muddle of different paradigms thrown together." It was incredibly stupid in the way that only very smart people can be sometimes.
TheMutantMindframe oh no! It's sooo much more than that! It introduces realtime chat functionality into an email program. This was cutting edge stuff! I mean how many times have you used AIM, ICQ, AOL, ExciteChat, MySpace, Facebook messages, Skype, yahoo messenger IRC, or basic SMS text messaging and thought, "if only they made this more like email!"
@grits207 it has been open to public for about 6 month.yet, as not to many people used it, they canceled the project. servers are still being run until the end of the year. god knows what is happening after that. it is a pitty actually. i liked it a lot.
there was a chat program that showed the person typing whatever it was, that felt weird to experance. This is basicly that i guess. but i dont know if its real, or whatever but its great i hope you come out with more game geek stuff and stuff
Hey Cody, I came here while learning about operational transformation technology. I am sad I couldn't use this. Just wanted to share after watching this video, you guys built an awesome product :)
So it's a craigslist thread? I am so confused by what was so innovative about this. We already have chat rooms and group text which is basically what this is. We also have forums, which is basically what this is. It just looks like some awkward unnecessary hybrid of the two. Not impressed.
This video didn't really explained well all the possibilities with Google Wave, try this one if you're interested czcams.com/video/p6pgxLaDdQw/video.html, it sounds way cooler in it, it's actually a mix between e-mails, Google Docs and Chat Rooms. You can even add bots in your conversations!
ah well google :/
"...which was invented always."
LOVE. IT.
this is a news

So they made Email basically as a chat client? 1993 called, they want their ideas back.

people weren’t morons, wave was just yet another garbage google product.

Phillip Arnesen it’s also 2010. So this seems like something really powerful for the time.
Yeah it predated all that stuff
