  • Hey, everyone! I finally made some time to do a drum cover -- and I'm near a drum kit where I can do stuff. Kamelot's officially entered my top favorite bands, and with it, their entire catalogue :P
I present to you their song "The Black Halo" off of their album... "The Black Halo." IMO, this album, Epica, and Silverthorn are my top three favorites. Hope you enjoy!

Thank you so much!! It was years of practice and building up. I prefer a "Mike Mangini" approach to fast playing (less fingers, more wrist/use of larger muscles as needed). From there it was bumping up the metronome periodically (200, 220, 240, 260, 280, etc,) and keeping them up for longer periods of time.
I'm nowhere near as good as I was 2/3 years ago IMO, but I can still muscle through as needed :P

Nice work! Is that a double ride stack on the right? I bet it's HEAVY to play? :-)

Thank you! Love the pun of course 😂
It's a mystery 20" Zildjian cymbal underneath a 17" Sabian AAX stage crash. Both have a bite or two taken out of them and somehow they both work as a stack together lol.

H a ha! The pun wasn't actually intended, but I see what you mean :-). It really does look heavy - must be like riding on a gong!

@@deantalbotdrums Not quite -- I've tried that and found a gong has more rebound lol. It's somewhere between a 13" rack tom at a medium tuning and a ride cymbal in terms of rebound
