    Correction on the French:
    3:24 An SGTIA from the 13th Alpine Chasseur Battalion replaced the 4th Company SGTIA from the 7th Alpine Chasseur Battalion in November 2022. It'd be more accurate to say that the 7e BCA company was part of the 1 Royal Welsh rotation while the 13e BCA company was part of KRH's. There was confusion because 7e BCA's 3rd Company had deployed there in March 2022 as an emergency due to the invasion of Ukraine (France's formal contribution was going to be relieved by the Danes). This company was relieved by the 7e BCA's 4th Company in June 2022, so it was an odd cycle
    3:31 About 14 VHM armored personnel carriers (the French version of the articulated Bandvagn 210 Mk II) are also deployed. They're mainly used by mountain troops.

This results in cases where second battalion has indirect fire support, while First doesn’t.). Not sure if the Battlegroup would be split from First Brigade and put in the British Brigade. Greetings from an Estonian! At 1:14 , that’s not very accurate. 2nd brigade does exist as well beyond just being an reservist brigade. They have active units such as the famous (at least here in Estonia), Kuperjanovi infantry battalion, an Combat support battalion, and brigade headquarters company. (So basically regiment strength at peace, brigade strength when called up).
    Also for those interested, in 2022, the British upgraded their mission here so in case of crisis, they will quickly send in a brigade, which would operate within our Estonian army Division. (Created at the last of the last year)

      it would be so interesting since it's also my country. Unfortunately our army's structure down to the tactical level is still outdated since it changed it's organization ( lowering manpower, capabilities etc) to fight against an asymetrical enemy like in afghanistan or iraq and also thanks to the very low defence budget, the budget was rose only last year hopefully so it looks like the armed forces in general will start to change soon. Basically the armed forces ( only the navy and air force are ) aren't ready for a possible war.

      Same. I think particularly interesting topics could be Cavalry Regiments (the ones that employ Centauros, for reference) or Bersaglieri Regiments (Dardo IFVs) - they're both quite specialized roles that respectively focus on reconaissance (as cav usually does) and quick, light but mechanized actions for the Bersaglieri.
      Alternatively, Alpini Brigades and Regiments are also quite specific in their role (harsh terrain and conditions) and have very unique capabilities for which even the US comes here to train.

I noticed that you have a video on the Stryker's so I'll look at that after I've caught myself up on what's going on in the Channel man!
    I have been working on an "AI Forces Inventory Overhaul" Add-on for the Search and Destroy DLC (aka the Weapons DLC) for the Stormworks: Build and Rescue Community for about a Year Now. The main focus is to have the AI Forces get a Massive Buff to the Equipment they Use as it Currently stands at....
    Air Force:
    • Eurofighter Typhoons
    • Eurocopter Tigers
    • Bell UH-1Y Huey "Venom's"
    Army:
    • Main Battle Tank that looks like a Horrendous Cross between a Challenger 2 and a Leopard 2.
    • Self-Propelled Anti-Aircraft Tank that looks like a Horrendous Cross between the Challenger or Leopard Marksman and the Shilka or Tunguska.
    Navy:
    • Fast Patrol Boat that's still unidentified.
    • Destroyer that's still unidentified, but has Gun and Missile Armed Versions.
    Local Community member @Toastery has gotten a Decent bit of improvement with his "Improved Conquest Mode" Add-on, but that's just a Slight improvement as you see the AI Flying A-10 Warthogs and F/A-18E Super Hornets and Some Fictional Ground Vehicle Designs as well as the Allowance of the Tanks and Ground Vehicles to Move and Possibly Hunt you down instead of just Spawn-Camping at every Capture Point. What I plan on having my "AI Forces Inventory Overhaul" Add-on do is to Bring the Military Forces of Nations like The United States of America, The United Kingdom (and the Commonwealth Nations of Canada, Australia and New Zealand), France, Germany, Italy, and the Russian Federation to the World of Stormworks and with the Release of the "Industrial Frontier Expansion" DLC I've now had to adjust those plans to include the Military Forces of the Middle East like Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Qatar, Kuwait or even (By Extension) Egypt. I'm hoping that there isn't a Jungle-Themed DLC around the Corner because then I'd have to include the Military Forces of The Philippines, Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan and North Korea.
    What are your thoughts on something like this man? Do you think Fighting AI Forces of Stormworks backed by Actual Military Forces will be a Challenge? Let me know what you think about it and I'll catch you in your next video!

      Iceland should man up and have a military. It’s the duty of every country to defend itself and not freeride on our alliance. Better they have a simple small battalion than nothing.

      With that, it doesn’t sound like the battlegroup is really necessary. The Hungarians should just make their military bigger with conscription or something.

      @@lembitmoislane. considering that hungary´s GDP is smaller than new york states gdp.... unlikely that this will happen soon.
      Hungary is modernising its military with 44 new Leopard 2A7V´s and 200 KF-41 Lynx and that swallows a lot of their defense budget.
      those eastern european partners have GDP´s that are smaller than some of germanies federal states (the 3 baltic states each are similar in economic power to the Saarland in germany)

      @@zhufortheimpaler4041 Well us Estonians have just 1,3 million and yet we can field an army division if called up, along with many thousands of national militia. Hungary has over nine million and a much larger economy. As well since Hungary is not as rich compared to rich Western Countries, there are benefits such as solider pay and other stuff not being as expensive. Hungary if they really wanted, could and should field a number of divisions (i.e though conscription and reserve units). It is better to have an army that can be large and can be in a conflict of attrition then having only few thousand top of the line soldiers who’ll be worn out quickly in any state to state war.

      @@lembitmoislane. well, you need to be truthful in respect to army size:
      Estonia has two very small infantry brigades as the standing army (and a few support elements of non relevant size).
      230.000 reservists, wich first sounds alot, but those will not be equipped as mechanised or motorised infantry but as light infantry on foot and only got limited acess to weapons and equipment.
      Its still 20% of the total population.
      But overall this wont help much in a conflict with an enemy that can bring substantial amounts or armor.
      (yes ukraine defendet itself with territorial defense units, but the hot combat around Kyiv for example was done by the Alpha Group Special forces unit of the national intelligence agency, the Special Forces of the Army and 2 already mobilised mechanised infantry brigades of Azov and a few other STANDING territorial defense units not the mobilised civilians.)

    Wow, this almost looks a bit too armour-heavy, for a reinforced Battalion stationed all the way in the North. I'm guessing the pairing with the Estonian Scouts is because they are the professional portion of the Estonian Land Forces, and they can form hunter-killer teams with the scouts, since the Armoured Group appears to be very armour-heavy.

    Shows that UK need to reform its Tank units to be reinforced Squadrons rather than regiments as the Regiment never deploys. I think 30 Tanks in a Heavy Squadron - 2 x Companies and a HQ. Then 144 could form 4 x Heavy Squadrons with the RTR ones being able to join to form a Heavy Brigade.

    5:43 - What am I looking at? Ar first I thought it was a minigun but then I noticed that the "barrels" are just inbus screws and the ammo belt is full of blanks. And there's the very M2 looking sight.
    Am I right when I assume it's an M2 blank fire device? The tiny muzzle hole in it would support the idea.
    It's kinda hard to imagine why on Earth would someone design a 12.7 caliber blank firing minigun resemnling thing when 5.56 can do the trick just as well with the added benefit of the whole thing being lighter.

    • @BattleOrder
      @BattleOrder  Před rokem +8

      It's a blank firing device for a regular M2.

    • @RobinTheBot
      @RobinTheBot Před rokem

      It looks more like it's trying to replicate a heavy machine gun, as the barrels don't really make sense like that... Maybe that's just how much assembly is needed to create a blank adapter for blanks that large and underneath is an entirely normal large caliber heavy machinegun.
      Most guns especially large ones need blank adapters to let blanks cycle the action, lacking the pressure of the bullet in the barrel and the trapped gas behind it, and with such large bullets it'll need to be very sturdy and very firmly attached to the gun. This way no new gun is needed, just a device attached to it for this and then taken off later.

    • @michaelsnyder3871
      @michaelsnyder3871 Před rokem +1

      @@RobinTheBot The original "blank" device was built to shred a wooden projectile. The M2 is recoil operated but even the blank cartridge is powerful enough that the blank adapter has to be firmly attached to the barrel and remain centered on the bore. There is also the issue of retaining the balance of the barrel for proper operation. A blank adapter just attached at the end of the barrel will result in excessive wear on the under part of the barrel.
