Don’t worry about grass seed guys. The more you mow, the thicker the lawn becomes and the more is spreads over those patches. I would wait until your heat dies off a bit though as it will burn if it’s too short. Then every two to 3 weeks for a while and you’ll have full cover in no time.
Sorry you have both been unwell and hoping you are back to your old selves soon. Pillows are so important. I spent a fortune buying new ones until I found the right ones. My weimaraner, Wilhiem is suffering badly from the heat. We have him in one of my husband's t-shirts which is wet with the fan on a stick blowing his way. Poor boy was panting like mad and he didn't know what to do with himself. His dignity is a little hurt but at least he is cooler. Your village pond is a lovely place for a stroll. Seems a nice area to live. Take care.
Smart idea with the t-shirt! If you want to get him something nice for the next heatwave, cooling mats work well for dogs. They are basically a gel filled mat that the dog can lie on and it stays cooler than the air temperature. Great especially if you mainly have carpets in your house.
@@susie2251 We have a very spoilt weimaraner who does not do floors. Human sofas and beds only. He thinks he is human and acts like it at times. Highly intelligent clowns best describes the breed. He is a big dog as well so we constantly get pushed to the edge of the sofa or bed. Started with good intentions but he outsmarted us and wore us down with his stubbornness. 2nd weim we have had and still the same. Great dog though as we can take him anywhere and he is really good. Everyone praises him and our training which is a bit ironic as he does it without us asking.
Sorry to hear you've been poorly, and very glad to see that you are on the mend. It's been so hot in the UK lately! Not far from the heat we have here, and I live in the desert. (Tucson, AZ) Hope it cools off soon so you can take more lovely walks in your beautiful neighborhood. Thank you for sharing. Love to you two, Molly, Rory and Beau. xo
if you don't have mulch, you can put the grass clippings around your plants, it will keep the ground moist in that heat you are having!!!! hope you are both feeling better. you could use a shepherds hook for the bug house. you will have to get a suet holder (FASTEN it down squirrels will take the whole thing)
Elliot, per my garden advisor, during the extreme hot weather you should not cut the grass short. Keep it no shorter than the highest setting on the mower. Allowing it to be longer also helps it retain water. Cutting it shorter could cause burn out of the grass.
This heat won’t help hun - and be aware - you are going to get more plaster dust for a few months - we did for ages, plus new carpets (make sure you vacuum at least 3 times a week - as for the blocking, sneezing and eczema (and some stress from the move) you both did so much in 3 months. Sinutab is amazing for clearing the system - also avoid milk and dairy for a few days - that helped me - but the plaster dust from all the work you did goes in for at least 6 months. Also you should have worn a mask while doing the lawn hun 🥰
Oh, Elliot & Matt. 🤒 Sounds like you’ve both had quite a time of it lately. Glad you’re feeling on the mend. I noticed the white sheet of “paper” that was in the gift bag as part of the Redrow garden gift. It looks like it’s impregnated with wild flower seeds.🌸I’ve seen them successfully used to start a wildflower border around bee hives. How kind of us Canadians to share our geese with the world. They are just as annoying here. Sharing is caring! 😘 Stay well everyone and I hope you find refuge from the oppressive heat. 🇨🇦❤️🇬🇧
I have been following you guys for a little while and I just have to say how wonderful I think you are - truly beautiful people and I am so happy for you two in your lovely new home. Just wanted to wish you all the very best now and into the future. Lots of love from Cheryl in Australia.
You can buy a free standing portable AC to use in your kitchen area or your bedroom on those hot, hot days. It's portable. It works by pulling the air in from the room and cooling it down and blowing it back out.
Oh hun get a kingsize it would be fab - especially for Matt - if you get a divan type you’ll get 4 extra fab drawers for storage ‘essential’ and the bottom of the divan comes in two large single bed pieces and is bolted together then it’s just the mattress that comes in one piece and that can be quickly bent and manoeuvred up the stairs - you won’t have problems honestly - and you do have the room for a kingsize you really do ❤️❤️❤️
I don't think the mattress would easily bend but you can ask for two 3' ones that will zip together to go on the clipped-together divans. This works very well.
@@norabradley9108 the mattress wouldn’t have to bend - you can angle a mattress easily to fit up even the smallest, narrowing staircase into a loft room - it’s the bases that can be amazed - but a kingsize divan bed comes in two. Pieces that lock together.
I hope you are both feeling better! I've was poorly for two weeks with the flu. I love the new pillows! It's nice to the progress with your new house. Have a lovely week.
I used to have Clinique like 20 years ago it was quite good but like you I have a kind of eczema and I had to stop the clarifying lotion as it contains wayy too much alcohol in all formulas. Avoid this lotion at all costs ! Moisture Surge is a really good product especially the new one. I had the old version and it was already very hydrating. The lotion you have received in complimentary gift is not a cleanser but a " prep " for hydration routine. 7 day scrub I would not recommend as you have sensitive skin, you should avoid mechanical exfoliants. DDML is very basic, I think you have the regular one so I recommend to put it only on dry areas because it is nourishing more than hydrating.
I was humored by the "Canadian" geese. We have them here in Washington, USA but I always thought it was because we are just across the border from Canada. Geese don't need a passport to cross between countries. But didn't know you have them in the UK. Perhaps they came to visit the Queen.
I'm so sorry you two were sick. Glad to see you both on the mend. Everything looks great and I'm so happy for you. Hold on, the weather will break and get cooler. We have that weather in the north east of US and it absolutely horrible.
Enjoyed every segment of this video. BATHROOM n Pond n Garden. Sorry you guys were ill. 🤒 Grateful it's now behind you. The pillows look very fabulous. Eager for the two 2 week update. 😀 I miss your summertime morning 🌄 coffee ☕ chat n garden tour with cats. 🐈 😍
Elliot hope you continue getting better! Sprinkle some ginger on your tea and it will help you a lot! I just watched some BBC news on CZcams and couldn't believe the fires and heatwave in the UK! Wishing you guys the best! 🧡🧡
Hello chaps. Hope you're both feeling much better. Elliott, you got your flowers the wrong way round; the begonias are the pink ones to the farleft and the busy Lizzies are the ones with various colour flowers just to the left of your steps. Keep up the good work gents and take care 😎
Hi guys, hope you're both feeling much better now. Being poorly in very hot weather is not much fun. The pillows look great. I'm going to take a look because my hubby suffers with awful neck and shoulder pain. Love your cats!
So sorry you have not been feeling well. Hope you both are feeling much better. I enjoyed this vlog and the house looks lovely. I love your garden and the cats look as though they have settled in. Take care and I hope you all in England cool down soon . I know it is so warm there still. Bless you both. 💕
Just got back from Tenerife. A lot cooler there than the UK! 42 degrees in Lincoln, UK, this afternoon. Couldn’t wait to catch up on your latest VLOG when I got back and looking forward to seeing your latest one this afternoon too. Hope you are all keeping cool 😎. Any tips for keeping cats cool too?
I LOVE that window mirror on your back wall - it evens out the back of the house (still wish it was an actual real window - but understand that’s not what you wanted - I would get an even bigger version 🥰🥰🥰
Hi from Canada. Watched a segment on one of our morning shows today about how it's 41 degrees Celsius today, (July 19.) in London! OMG! No A/C? I realize British houses don't have it, so you all have my sympathy! We had a high of 31 here in Southern Ontario, and very humid. My A/C is keeping things at 23.88 C (75 F).
Don’t do it - put your current bed into the second room - and get the kingsize for your room - honestly the two single bits that are then bolted together will so easily go up the stairs - you’ll never look back ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I would suggest an air matress bed and sleep downstairs if it is too hot to sleep upstairs for now. Or maybe sleep on the sofas. Just an idea. Good luck! Stay cool and hydrated!
Had covid myself last week I wasn't very sick just like I had bad allergy....Glad you are on the mend...its very warm here in Ireland also...I was working yesterday in full ppe I melted.....love the cats and your house is beautiful...hope you both recover soon...
Clinique skin care is awesome! Happy Birthday Matt 🎈Everything is really coming together. Just waiting on the wallpaper! I still love seeing your socks 🧦😆
I have been using Clinique for 40 years and I am often complimented on my skin and told I look at least 10 years younger than my age. Don't use any other skin care range. My skin has changed as I have aged but the strength of the products are just adjusted. Love their foundation as well but as expensive I save it for when I go out.
hi there, glad you're feeling better and getting back to normal. I just had a thought Elloot some flower power from QVC would be fantastic for your flowers. it's the best thing I've ever used. take care.
Elliot I use SeneGence…. The absolute hands down best skincare I’ve ever used! I’m 50 and my skin looks better than it did in my 30s!!! It’s a direct sales company and I’m fairly sure it is available in the UK… but I think it’s called Sheer Beauty in the UK
Happy to see that both of you are feeling better. It’s been averaging 109F (43C)+ with the heat index. Air conditioning is mandatory here in the southern US. 🥵
So sorry you and matt havent been well but so glad you are feeling better. The most recent forecast ive seen said the UK was the hottest area over 90+% of the world including the middle east. We in north idaho will be feeling it in the coming week! Ugh!
Glad you are both feeling much better, Birthday wishes from Yorkshire. The heat today has been stifling Elliott I'm sure your getting your begonias and busy lizzies mixed up although I could be wrong as didn't get a close enough look. The begonias have a waxy shiny leaf. The garden looks fantastic 😍
Glad you are both feeling better! I use Liz Earle skincare and body care and have found it excellent for my skin. It’s worth every penny. Be interesting to see your future review of those pillows. Xx
Hi, for any skin care issues I would recommend Propolis skincare gel. I’ve been using it for years and it’s absolutely amazing and anyone I have suggested it to have absolutely loved it. x
Glad your both feeling better we all had it here a few weeks ago had been uber good at wearing our masks went to a family funeral didnt like to wear them and 2 days later the dreaded covid have learnt lesson masks on, the house Is looking wonderful and the garden is lovely well done both take care x
Hi - I know I’m a bit late on this one but how did you get on with the pillows? Did you do an update in another video as I haven’t been able to find it 😂
