Great to see a normal golfer in the mix on the channel.
I love my Grand Bassara shaft. You can often find them as used demo shafts for fairly cheap.

Enjoyed this video. I hope you guys continue to do this several more times with lots of different types of golfers with all parts of the bag. There seems to be some criticism about this video and the participant's need for more golf lessons but I think that's harsh. The guy put himself out there and he was happy with the results. That's really what matters and I'm excited on his behalf. We all could use more lessons and speaking for myself, I've taken many lessons (and followed through on some of them) but sometimes it's more fun to try new golf clubs...

Arcos needs a monthly subscription so us in the Midwesterns can use it and not pay for the full year when I use for 3-4 months of the year lol
That's also my issue with arcos, even though in aus we generally can play most months only die hards are out in the winter here, wet and miserable muddy etc. Most of us play all the other months

I was thinking that the only club in my bag I would not want to get checked is my LAB putter, and the guest also has one. No quintic numbers would convince me to switch.

How often do you play? The price is eye opening, but I hear nothing but good things about the quality.
@@philippeters3253less than once a week, but the issue is less about how often I play but how much I enjoy when I play. Moreover, a LAB putter stock costs about the same as a new stock driver, and a custom LAB putter about the same as a custom driver. I have had the putter for 3.5 years now, and several drivers in the same amount of time (although I think the current driver will be hard to beat for some time).
Cool video! Had a feeling it was going to be easily beat as Black Ops was the worst performer for my most recent driver fit. Still wishing I was picked for the Roulette.
What's the thinking behind having him try the G430 Max instead of the G430 Max 10K? From what I've seen of the 10K it seems to add a decent amount of distance compared to the original G430 Max while still being super forgiving

We old timers need pilates/yoga to gain flex and mobility to increase swing speed and consistent contact.
10000% - Anyone over 50 can see so many gains with better mobility - myself included in that age group.
Off topic Ian but I play a handcrafted Project X Evenflow Black 6.5 85 grams in my TS2 7 wood and love it. I’m curious to when I update it what are some similar shafts to this profile?

What an awesome series! Shout out to Mitch for representing a massive demographic of viewers who are just trying to get over 200 yards in the fairway. It's a bit discouraging to see "mid handicappers" who are striping it 250 on the channel all the time. Thanks for having the courage to do this!

Needs a lesson or 10 WAY BEFORE he needs a new driver. Would get better value out of that in the long run.

@@stevemccrory9130these guys only also pick people they know are a surefire guarantee for the channel. i doubt we’ll actually see a player who’s own stuff is well fit on the series

Why not turn the pgx down to 10.5? Wouldn't that fix the spin a little bit?
Maybe would help the spin but old boy would be launching them at 8 degrees. Spin was caused by a lot of low strikes and heel strikes

Lots of golfers swinging in and around. I saw this so much when I started I was swinging out and dropped it inside. I was hitting a high hook and block. I got more distance from my draws. Had to work on my swing path to get it straitgher. Would love to see this guy reroute the club instead of coming over it. He still has a decent delivery but at his age he doesn't have time to hone in the swing. His back couldn't take it
Really found this content useful. Many similarities between the two of us - swing speed, age, and carry distance. Just coming off a six month layoff due to rotator cuff and bicep surgery. This gives me some hope and ideas on how I can make some gains back quickly in the short term as I continue to on the rehab journey. Thanks once again for some great and applicable content.

If you can get this guy of his back foot should resolve his out too the left shot and increase his distance
I know its not enough FPS to see for real but Mitch's club is parallel to the ground at the same time is right arm is. Dumping so much power before getting to the ball. Swinging way too hard for 80mph club head speed. He has 90+ clubhead speed in him with less effort.
How? Looser hands? I struggle with speed myself
@@joepawling4735I’m not a coach but I think of it as trying to make the fastest part of my swing right after the ball. Smooth start of the downswing so I don’t loose the angles I created in the backswing.
This is great, but another fitters worse nightmare where you go to someone else and there is a huge difference. Always interview your fitter, just like you would a golf instructor. Hope PXG takes trade-ins... lol
I could think of about 13 clubs in my bag they could make better 😂

Too much movement in all parts of the body - more Happy Gilmore than Happy Days. Inconsistent swing, especially rotation, and lots of balance issues. Trying too hard to grip it and rip it. Needs to slow down and achieve good swing plane and centred strikes before adding in the speed again. Better off at the gym / chiropractor / yoga studio than in the fitting bay. $1k wasted in my opinion, and the wife should have done a better job of hiding his car keys.

This guy needs a lesson before getting a fitting, he doesn’t swing the club, he wraps it around his waist. Get the basics right first, then groove a swing, perhaps then have a fitting
Older guy hitting it 200 in the fairway. Lessons would probably do more harm than good
I am 67, have monthly lessons, still 6 handicap, was plus handicap when younger. I fly it 245 carry, speed work and lessons, not down to fitting, albeit I was fitted for a AiMax 9 degree turned down to 7.5, to manage spin
I stopped watching the moment I saw that golf swing and those massive 188 yard drives (sarcasm).. Dear golf fitters everywhere, stop taking money from people who need to get lessons first. Have some integrity and just be honest with people.
5 drivers and 8 shafts did less than Ian saying "move back 6 inches".... The lesson here is to get a lesson... 🫣
