  • Faster-than-light travel? It's possible," claims a pioneering scientist. Here's the proof: Shine a powerful laser at the Moon and give your wrist a quick flick. Watch as the spot races across the surface, potentially faster than light! Could this be a glimpse into our future travel capabilities?

    Moving the spot of a laserpointer over the surface of the moon is not light traveling over the surface. Continuosly new photons making up the spot, so it's more like an animation that make it seem like the spot of light is traveling. Also likely slower than the actual lightspeed anyway. Btw, takes light 1.25 seconds from earth to moon, so all movements would "lag" by that amount of time

      Kind of a perspective experiment. We can say the animation is moving faster not the original photons itself. I mostly agree with you though.

    At 00:10 you were supposed to see the light on the moon about 2.4 seconds later after shining the laser. Light takes approx 1.2 seconds to reach moon and approx 1.2 seconds back to Earth after being reflected off the surface. And when you move the laser the light on the moon would start to move 2.4 seconds later as well.

    They have an episode of Star Trek The Next Generation in which they have this(for a lack of a better term "relay station." And inside of that "relay station" there is a kind of projection portal device that shows images from very far away places and if You step into the portal, You're there quite literally between the ticks of the clock regardless of distance. Like stepping through a television screen. I don't know how to spell the name of that particular episode, but the approximate spelling is Contagion or Contagion. Or perhaps Contagion is the correct spelling of the episode.

    Theres another problem with quantum teleportation that most dont consider (especially Hollywood) If you're going to do it from one location on Earth to another or even from orbit to the surface (like Star Trek) then you have to take into account the Earths rotation. The Earth rotates at 1000 miles per hour so if you teleport from one place and re emerge at another...it would be like trying to step onto a vehicle thats moving at 1000 miles per hour. You would slam into the first object that comes by (or rather, that object would slam into you). Even if theres no object anywhere nearby the ground itself would be speeding by and as soon as you teleport anywhere on it...well...

    • @FieroGT3400
      @FieroGT3400 Před 12 dny +1

      ya or you would just leave your office teleporter and suddenly appear in the middle on (space) nowhere... which would be the best case, vs appearing in a planet or moon or sun.,.... heh, not only earths rotation, but all galaxy/universe movement... you would have to run a full system simulation, to know where everything was at the time/place you wanted to go to.

    Emergence theory and e8 symmetry have kinda left string and m theory in the dark 😂. You can't study (light) by focused light through a Lazer. We shouldn't get stuck on ideas that become soooooo complicated . The universe shows time and time again that it takes the simple route. Light doesn't travel in a straight line in nature. Its a bubble where parts are taken like an onion. From fusion comes fission. An atom in space being split. If light didn't have mass. It couldn't be bent!

    IMO i dont think that we will ever be able to flight faster than the speed of light. And even IF we somehow manage to build such a device, how big it should be? How heavy? Weight plays a huge role if we talk about travelling in space. If we send Voyager 1 to Proxima Centauri b, with the current speed, it needs 72.000 years. Imagine sending a spaceship with some millions of tones weight there..... I can only laugh about it. No matter. Even IF somehow we pull that out, who do you think will travel there? Me? You? Or the BBW next door? Nope. It will be the elite. Few people which concider themselves important(LMAO!)! You and i, we will never be able to go there, even if we build tomorrow such spaceships and theres enough space in them for all. And of course, something that NOONE mentions in no video that i have ever seen, is the simpliest of things. Who CAN make this journey except from astronauts?!! You need years of training etc in order to just go out of the Earth!! So.... yup. Thats that.

    Its impossible for living cells to go that fast or even half that fast your mass would destroy your cells 😮😮😮

      It’s impossible for anything with mass to travel at light speed, but half the speed of light will not destroy cells unless said cells are hit by something.

      An interesting science fiction idea would be a fictional universe where nothing biological could survive faster than light travel and the different inhabited worlds of the galaxy have to settle for communicating with each other by sending unmanned probes to the other planets.

    Nothing interesting ever happens in real life. All of that bull cr@p you see in Star Trek or Star Wars won't ever happen. The best our world can ever hope for (and even this is a long shot) is being able to explore our own solar system like the tv show The Expanse. And even that is probably many centuries away.
    "Star Trek" is NEVER going to happen.

      @TheCybershot90 it is happening all the time through the infinite mind that we call reality each identity is finite while the whole is ultimately 1 so when you die you have the ability to travel to anywhere instantaneously through the actualization of consciousness
