Smash Bros Infinite 3.0 is finally here!
Makeshift narration again, and my nose was a little stuffy so it's not the greatest. Gameplay I did while I was tired too, also not the greatest but it gets the job done.
I went off on a tangent but to sum it all up, there's 3 new characters, a handful of updated ones, a bunch of new costumes, loads of new stages, lot's of bug fixes and also PM's Stamina mode added to the mix.
I highly recommend using a 4GB SDHC card or loading from Dolphin now, as it just barely (if at all) fits on 2GB cards.
If the guide doesn't work for your 2 GB card try deleting the files in (private/wii/app/rsbe/pf/sound and private/wii/app/rsbe/pfmenu2 . These will remove the bgm from the character select and revert the title screen and main menu to default, but it should still be playable.
Also as I mentioned this will be the last major release of Infinite. Don't have as much time to work on it anymore but it's been loads of fun seeing everyone enjoy it.

I am really glad people like you upload their work. I cannot really do all of the work because my pc cannot run dolphin. So every time the wii crashes i have to wait a lot to make adjustments and test them. It takes me hours to just add a few stages and characters cause i am too noob to flawlessly mod everything without crashes. So thanks man.
Gotta love the new backgrounds...and how it even switch ost's after every match....that just means Smashing never gets old! Also how the stages are all organized and easily accessible....and everything! Amazing work!

My interest in the project is pretty null at the moment, I really don't have time to work on modding as much with work, college, etc. Smash 4 also hasn't quite been cracked open yet beyond model and sfx edits from what I can tell, so I'd probably stick with what I know should I work on more in the future.
secretchaos1 iut of curiosity what do you plan on doing as far as modding brawl now that you have reached your limit? will you be working on new mod packs when the time comes?

This is such an amazing mod! I played the updated version a couple of times, and I'm hoping to show this to some of my friends. I looked through the readme, and even though it is most likely there won't be more huge updates, I think this is the best update (So MANY stages). Thanks secretchaos, and everyone else who made custom stages and characters on this hack. ^-^
Question, can some of the Brawl EX mods like Metal Sonic and the custom skins used here in SSB Infinite be used in Vbrawl if I just rename them to the corresponding characters they were once over?

someone would have to merge the files with an original brawl game and compile that together. This usually takes a lot of time...
Probably, but it would be hard, since brawl builder tools only have pf options.
idk the files but use img burn you can add a bunch of files together and itd be an iso

Tried using Peppy Fiddle but I didn't get a .wbfs file. Instead I got a blank .txt file titled RSBE01. What do I do?

Same here, i've tried multiple times but i keep getting the same TXT.
A lot of people seem to not be using a clean ISO file. It only works with a clean file, not that compressed one that's been circulating around with all of the SSE cutscenes taken out.

i must of messed up in my download somewhere. but the stage names to the side dont show what gamecube controller buttons i need to press to access the stage. is there a file somewhere i need to add?

I had the same problem, but I figured it out. You probably set the wrong smash bros as the ISO. Try the other one, the one with 3.94 GiB. That should work.

I could really use some help from someone. I've been trying to get this mod to work for days now with no luck. I have a 16gb SDHC sandisk card and the farthest i've gotten is the character screen but no new characters load. I checked the troubleshoot file and it says not all the files downloaded correctly, but I compared both file sizes and it is the same. Not sure where I went wrong. Any advice would help and be appreciated.

You should add dash dancing l canceling and wave dashing and this mod could be played competitively. PLEAASSE. Either way though this is beautiful and definitely respect the time and effort you have put into it.

Hey there, secretchaos1. I don’t know if you’re still reading/answering comments, but I was wondering if you could help me out with a couple of things...
First, (and most importantly), I’ve downloaded both the hackless and SD card versions of the game, both usually start up ok, but neither of them want to get past the hooktype message before freezing. I’m using my hacked Wii U, and I’m not having any luck. However when I tried the hackless version in my non-hacked Wii, the problem didn’t occur. I’ve read the included instructions that came with the mod, and I concluded that it could be due to the SD card being old, but since it worked fine on my original Wii, I’m just not sure.
Also, is there any way to change the menu CSS music in the Dolphin version? I can’t seem to find the brstm files. I can only assume that I’d have to somehow extract the sd.raw file that the mod comes with. If that is the case, Is there a program I could use to do this?

@@glowkirby cool! I used both minima and USB loader gx, however it's not properly loading. Games basically stock except CSS music is k.k slider songs and on page two are many repeats of hanebow and pokemon stadium and choosing stage (page 1) locks up game, choosing stage (page 2) locks up game while blaring that annoying "siren" sound (also does when trying to edit music for page 2 stages)

How can i change the stage by using the wiimote or the nunchuk? Because i don't have either the classic controller or a gamecube controller and in the screen letters like Y, Z, B, or A don't appear next the stage name
you replace the stuff in the codes folder with the stuff in the Wii Remote users folder make sure it is still called codes

Wish someone would create some Chrono Trigger characters , I know there is a skin of Crono but it would be nice for someone skilled to actually create him and give him his own move set.

even with all the smash mods that came after Infinite, I STILL play this mod with a group of people. We love this mod and I wish somebody could remaster this into a more complete move sets and HD visuals. I love how you guys included a large roster with an even bigger stage list. No mod compares and I don't have a brawl iso so I can't play this on dolphin. If you ever consider coming back to this project, please do and hopefully it can be booted up with dolphin w/o brawl iso (:
Unfortunately I don't have plans to come back to it, modern modding culture has changed a lot so I wouldn't really be able to distribute something like this anymore. Appreciate the love though!
Update Metal Sonic to v3.0 already, he does not look good. (seeing bits of v1.0 and that dsmash from that awful metal sonic psa from years ago)
Can i make an unofficial update? I want to fix some gfx and fix the KO sound. When fighting classic ridley (which uses Wolf's soundbank) Metal Sonic sounds like Wolf when he dies.

Actually, I lied. I realized you're one of the few out there who keeps his coding nice and organized when it comes to gfx calls. I can probably whip up a quick patch tonight but this is gonna be my last major change. I'm a fan of your work, so I really don't want to leave an old version in there for what's probably going to be my last build and I've realized just how outdated it is now compared to your earlier release. Won't have time to change the video, but I'll replace the download when it's ready. Might be a day or two though since I need to recompress, reupload, test dolphin's buggy SD.raw, etc.

I have two other mods on my SD card; Legacy XP and CTGPR. All the files (I.E. gameconfig.txt, boot.elf, etc.) are tucked away in each mod's respective files. I downloaded and extracted all of the necessary files required for Infinite to work onto the SD card. Items such as GeckOS are properly installed, (I checked. Everything is in there.) but when I go to Homebrew to launch Infinite, (Via GeckOS-- I have the settings, which are AVNextFrame or however you say it, and SD cheats set to ON.) it loads regular Brawl. What gives? I used to have the previous version of Infinite, and everything worked just fine.

If someone wanted to by all means, but I don't think modding for smash on wii u has quite reached the point it has on wii to make the same sort of thing possible.
@secretchaos1, I'm having some problems that aren't covered in the FAQ.
Several of the character costumes (gordon freeman, minions, agent 47, among others) are not working. They don't crash the game, but they don't seem to load correctly, and they look like the regular character with a plain silver texture on them. Is there a solution to this? I think i'll have to rebuild my iso...

Hey just a question, what's up with the character selection music and some of the stages? Unless you changed them the main menu music is changed from the awesome selection music to what I think is animal crossing sounding music, and some stages don't have music at all.
Sounds like mods are missing or something wasn't setup properly. I'd look over the instructions again and try copying the pack over fresh to your SD card. There's an FAQ included as well that might be some help when troubleshooting, it's been a long time since I've worked on this so it's probably a better guide than I am that this point.
What should be done if the songs aren't loading onto the ISO correctly, but the ISO is the right size?
So the Dolphin version works, copying over the SD card and using Gecko, but why doesn't patching the ISO with all of the files with the code file work? I really want to customize this mod with my own models, but the dolphin method only gives me access to the vanilla characters.

How did you make Phantom Ganondorf work? I wanted to add him to my custom build but when i tried the game crashed I replaced him over ganondorf and lucario. It crashed when i tried ganondorf and when i tried with lucario it worked for i while and then it randomly crashed. If i take his files from here will it work? and which character is he a clone of?
He's a lucario clone, he should work if you take these files. I had to remove a lot of variables and such that weren't compatible with vBrawl. I also had to add in a lot of item animations too.

Is there a possible way you could have two character select screens? Y'know, kind of like you have two pages for the stages. Maybe you could do something similar with the characters so you could put more in?
There's two pages of stages in vanilla brawl (Unmodded) but not 2 for characters screen, so i don't think it would work.
Does it change much of a gameplay, game mechanics, et cetera?

Buddy, this is the BEST ssbb mod ever, but i think that mod can get a 3.1v with some 2020-2021 characters, lego mario, siren head, and others....
this version doesnt have an AY folder in the private" folder is that intended and if i downloaded the sdhc file can i run it using geckoOS or do i need to use project M
AY folder isn't needed anymore.
PM launcher is required to enable SDHC.

I downloaded the 2017 update and followed the enclosed instructions, but the ISO builder just never seems to get past 0% extraction.
i just wanna ask now that you reached your limit in this brawl pack what do you plan to do as far as modding brawl? would you ever start a new brawl pack in any opportunity or is this the complete end of your work in brawl modding?
I don't think I would start anything new. Infinite could definitely use some refining, balance isn't my strong point but there's still some bugginess/stiffness that can be ironed out further. Between time to work on it + desire to work on it though I've been a bit short on both. I do occasionally have bursts of interest were I do a bit of work on it, but since I don't get the opportunity to play it as much as I'd like the inspiration really comes and goes.
I have seen that work is being done to make dolphin SDHC compatible, when that seems to be stable I'll likely push out a quick update to have Dolphin match the SDHC version of the pack.

how did you fix marth skins for the sephiroth moveset? I found a better Kingdom Hearts Sephiorth model to use than the one you have
I don't plan to update anytime soon, but it's a shame I couldn't have found a better one sooner. You need to reverse the culling of his models, and sometimes modify the rigging of his sword to get them to work properly. The animation pack essentially turns the models inside out, so reversing all of the cull settings on his materials tends to rectify what the animations do.
I can't use any of the Sephiroth models from JRush's moveset however, as they have bone edits to reverse him instead of animations.

Is there no way of making megaman's metal blade not disappear in hand? It's not that much of a problem but its a little frustrating sometimes :)
It was designed primarily to work as mega man's special, so I think that's why it was programmed to disappear so quickly. If I ever get the time I might try to look into that cause I've felt that frustration too, but it's not high priority for me.
So me and my friend have a Hackless Wii, a 2 GB SD Card, and a computer. We followed the directions correctly, did everything right, so we went to the Stage builder and when we clicked on the SD card, it froze and started making a noise. We waited a couple of minutes, nothing changed, so we decided to turn it off and try again. When we did it again, we got to the stage builder SD Card side and we found a 'map' and we clicked on that. The game froze and we couldn't do anything, music still played, motion was still intact. Any solutions? I tried looking up some but to no avail.
Make sure there's no custom stages on your wii or already on your SD card. Delete the default ones, that sometimes helps.
