The judge was 100% like "Yeah, fuck him up, Mike!"
I'm your 1000th like
Kids got sick, and an insurance company knew. If I was that judge, I'd want an answer too.
😂😂😂😂
There's a non-zero chance that judge had a kid in that school.
Damn right they want answers!
Lolol
Judge was like the third friend just egging you on and making the situation even worse
That judge was all about it.
It was a very valid question, one that needed answers, and there was no reason the witness couldn't answer this question then and there
The judge did exactly what any good judge should

He said God damn question in front of the judge n Judge was like fuck yea

The judge heard the team America world police theme song in his head
He channeled his inner Harvey.
No further questions, your honor.
In my non-lawyer opinion, the jury would eat him up.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Suits, but there’s SO much wrong with this scene 😂

Scrolled too far down for this.
Yeah this was likely intentional, and they reference that movie a bunch throughout the series.
Post Jail Mike after passing the Bar was a different animal, full of self confidence and no fear. So sad we didn't get to see him more because of Meghan.
Why because of Meghan?
@@Spidr-Man because Meghan Markle had to quit the show in order to marry into the British Royal family. So Mikes actor had to quit because they couldnt explain writing out Rachel without Mike following suit. They could have kept Mike only by explaining they broke up but the entire fan base would have cancelled the show if that happened
@Kyle Goyak honestly a lot of the fans just hate or don't like Rachel, they could've said she was working at another firm far away.
@@kylegoyak this isn’t fully true. Patrick Adams chose not to renew his contract during season 7. He said he started thinking about leaving during Season 6 and as the seasons went on was finding it difficult to be away from his family for that long. He also didn’t know how the character would continue to fit with the main line.
You can’t just blame everything on Meghan. Actors leave shows all the time, and shows find a way to continue. They could have said she died. Some accident, disgruntled former client/opposition, workplace mass shooting (not like Hollywood is shy about gun issues).
Her leaving is not what ended the show. The whole premise of the show was this genius lawyer, who never went to law school, and was practicing without a license. Once that was resolved, there wasn’t much further they could take it. Then Patrick Adams (THE main character) wanted to leave too. So they just wrapped it up.
Judge: “ FINISH HIM”
😂
Heard that in the Mortal Kombat sound😂😂😂
“Get him Mike!” -The Judge
“I want the truth!”
“YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH”
In the next scene, Mike is offered 1 million per plaintiff, up from 100k per plaintiff.
He demanded it
Judge was like "Let him cook!"
This what I wish Suits would have done more of. I wanted to see the Courtroom and what happened. The office was the focus, and a lot of great stories around it and the characters. But I would have loved to see Mike, Harvey, Louis, and Jessica really rip up the opposition more often.
Thing is, if you get to a court room you failed the first stage as a lawyer anyway
Avoid going to trial has been a key principle of Harvey, which makes sense because they practice corporate law most of the time anyway. Also, a lot of other legal dramas focus in the courtroom already, I think Suits made this choice to distinguish themselves.
@@bfoo Excellent comment.
The choice of the writers to almost never make them go to trial is very good, makes the show more realistic. And considering how much wrong they get in the courtroom scenes, probably a good thing too lol
Some defendants don't mind lying because they're narcissists and would rather be defeated than admit defeat.
The judge was like, *_"YEAH, FUCK HIM UP, MIKE!"_*
If someone's yelling at you like that and you got nothing to defend with, Just Collapse
Just plead the fifth
@@adrenalinemadness3340
Only works in criminal proceedings. Pretty sure.
A Nigerian politician once did this lol
@@armstrongolusojiwhen was that?
@@adrenalinemadness3340not a thing in civil trials. Like you can plead the 5th but the jury can take that as evidence of your guilt/liability. The 5th amendment doesn’t apply to civil cases. Lots of em don’t.
Thos has real "DID YOU ORDER THE CODE RED?" energy and im here for it.
"it's what you've been prepared to pay for almost a year"
"Objection your honor: speculation"
"Sustained"
No because speculation only works for someone else mindset. The witness can say no or yes to his own mindset but not someone else's.
Objection: argumentative
He was definitely trying to leas him to the conclusion of him knowing it was toxic
@@NicholasSinard Opposing counsel is allowed to lead a hostile witness (i.e. prosecution can ask leading questions of witnesses brought in by the defence, and vice versa.). It's literally their job. You're not allowed to lead your own witness unless you've received permission from the judge to treat that witness as hostile.
The insurance policy was set up so that they would be covered. The questioning was not about the mindset, it was about the practical level of preparation in place, and those were facts on record, not speculation.
Harvey created a monster 😂😂
Even looks like him too at this point

Best Mike moment in Suits ever
The kind of judge we need irl
"mom, I want a few a good men"
"We have a few good men at home"
*A few good men at home-*
Literally what I was thinking watching this scene
The look on Oliver's face makes this so much better for me, mike is everything he wants to be and seeing him bring this case home makes him realise that one lawyer can make a difference.
That was Mike's
You can't handle the truth
Moment
Autism moment, only happens in fiction, unless it's a poor person on the recieving end. Haha.
Look at the judge jizzing himself on the bench and instigating 😂
See this is why legal shows always make me laugh. No matter how good the writing, they just can't stick to procedure. Lawyers don't get to just talk, they have to ask questions. If it's not a question, you can't say it.
You can't just make accusations, you can't just have a conversation. You have to ask questions, let them answer, and ask more.
This is so not how it would go, the judge would have shut it down 30 seconds in.
Exactly, plus the content of settlement negotiations are strictly confidential and cannot be brought up in court. Additionally, a defendants liability insurance is also not not admissible. This entire scene is insanely stupid lol
The judge holding back the friends while his boy goes to town, that guy was priceless.
This is really one of those moment that Mike shines and make sure there is justice for disadvantaged victims.
It’s like they fired all the legal consultants on this series
People keep recommending this show but these clips are painful when you are a lawyer
@HolySpicoli Eh does it have to be realistic to be good? Jim Carey's first job was on a sitcom set in an animation studio. As an animator, it was not realistic in the slightest haha. But still I enjoyed the show.

@@Bubblegum-pk3yn 5th amendment. You can always shut your mouth
@@Bubblegum-pk3yn They have to prove contempt, you can plea the fifth to prevent incriminating yourself. Any lawyer who defends you will tell you that when you don't know how to answer a question.
@@AllenHanPR Unless they can prove criminal charges could arise from this and be used against them you cannot use the fifth in criminal cases (1924 SCOTUS ruling), and it goes over this in season 1 of the show.

I’m always amazed at how realistic this show is
Not how any court would handle objections but still love this show!
My utmost respect to the admin for adding the series and episodes of the video
Reminding someone they are under oath in front of the jury is grounds for immediate objection

Idk why but “why so much insurance” makes me laugh
Arguments like these never happen in real courts. No one is allowed to be this loud in the court other than the judge.
It’s a show. 😂😂
Judge was like nah let him cook lol
“I wanna the truth Goddayum it”….
This scene and when Jessica defended Leonard Bailey in court were the two best scenes in the show IMO
Mike was going crazy!
Mike swearing like that is so unrealistic. Any judge worth their salt would find him in contempt and throw a huge ass fine at him.
Agreed...
Wait what part did he swear? When he said goddamn?
Are u a judge or a lawyer?
That’s the least of the unrealistic bits of this scene.
Is goddamn a swear word?? Lol. If you said swearing, I’d assume mike called him a cunt.
It is against the rules of evidence to bring in the details of a settlement negotiation. This would immediately get objected to and may even cause a mistrial. The courts want to incentivize people engaging in settlement negotiations without worrying about it coming back to bite them.
Edit: Oh wow, the bit about the insurance would also cause a mistrial. Cannot use the existence of insurance for the purpose of proving negligence or wrongful conduct, since they want to incentivize people buying insurance.
Edit: okay 4 events in this clip would’ve caused a mistrial and 1 would’ve caused an investigation by the Bar (cursing at the witness). Also these are all extremely basic evidence rules that are tested on the Bar exam lol
Yep, which is why I hate this show.
@NotThereJustGone why are trials so different from a professional debate (without law stuff in it in general) when all law/trials are debates with law stuff in it.
Why no surprise in trials but there can be surprise in professional debates?
Edit: Of course professional debaters should do rebuttals but they have to research not only their side but the other side(s) as well to make the rebuttals.
They dont get to see the other sides points until the day of the debate as far as I know. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
@NotThereJustGone Trial by surprise sounds brilliant to my ears. Let's bring ot back. "Surprise motherfucker(s)" is something one should be able to hear in a courtroom.
@@Kas_Styles Because debates are about who makes the best argument using limited time and info, and are at essence a competition. Trials are about the finding the truth, or the closest thing to it
@Neolithicman true. I wish debates where more about the truth.
I like how Mike Ross is so much more mature than he was ever been
