  • In this video, I'm going to assemble and paint the cockpit of my new project - 1/32 Caudron G.III from Copper State Models.
    This is a first project of this year and I'm very excited to see how it will come together!
    Building and painting a cockpit is a great way to add detail to your model and make it look more realistic. In this video, I'll show you how to assemble the cockpit and then paint it.
    I hope you enjoy the video and please feel free to leave any feedback you have!

    That vintage advertisement look reminds me of the advertisements one sees in old issues of L'Aerophile magazine, so that's probably where they got the inspiration from!

    Excellent work! Your leather seat looks like you made it with leather--that is superb painting. Those CSM kits are pretty special and I know your Caudron is going to be great!

      Thank you very much, Mark! And actually, all that paint job will be covered with seat belts...

      Thanks, I really hope so, this model has even more rigging than DH.2, so it will take a bit longer to complete it

    I am quite impressed with the detail of the kit, now we dont have Wingnut Wings would you consider this the next best brand?

    • @FlyingCircusModels
      @FlyingCircusModels  Před rokem +1

      I would say so, yes. However I do not know about the quality of their previous kits. Also, I really want to try one of the resin kits from Lukgraph, but I haven't worked with resin before...

      @@FlyingCircusModels Resin is not much difrent other than the dust is not good so you should wet sand and saw to keep it down and mask up. somtimes you get warped or deformed parts but they can be corrected in warm to hot water. you can get air bubbles that need filling with CA, but from your evident skill wont be an issue.

    Beautiful job! About the alimentation cables from the battery to the radio, they should be insulated.

    I really enjoy your videos. I am always learning from them. May I ask, how long you let your oil paint dry before you coat it in Future? Thank you.

    • @FlyingCircusModels
      @FlyingCircusModels  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Thank you, I usually leave oil to dry for about 2-4 days, it depends on the thickness of layer

    I suspect that the quality of CSM models is close to that of WNW so it should build up to be a pretty detailed and accurate model. The job done so far is excellent so it must be exciting to move forward with the build. I wasn't aware that radios were installed in WW1 aircraft so I've learned something new. Looking at the instruction booklet, the rigging looks detailed, complicated and involved but I'm sure with your experience you will be all over it.

    • @FlyingCircusModels
      @FlyingCircusModels  Před rokem +1

      Thanks, the model is really great, and this particular plane was used in many different action, including observation and artillery correction. The rigging is even more complicated than on DH.2, very interesting thing about this plane - it didn't have ailerons, it turned with wing twisting, same like on Wright brother's plane

    nice detailed video 👍🏻 what did you used for the wire and those little pipes on the wire's??

    • @FlyingCircusModels
      @FlyingCircusModels  Před rokem +2

      thanks, for wire I usually use a black nylon beading thread and pipes - small pieces of medical needles. You can check my video of How to make rigging

      I used Vallejo Beige (70.917) color as a base for wood painting and the same color for linen, all other colors I showed on the video (I think), but feel free to ask, if you have more questions
