Gundo's role at Barca is completely different from his role at City. at City he mostly played as a left-sided CAM where he used to push the opposition's defense and due to his abilities in the final third, he could maintain a goal-scoring rhythm there. but at Barca, Xavi is playing him in a proper CM role, perhaps similar to how Xavi himself used to play as a player. Maybe??!! and that's how a good player adapts to a new role, he has got everything and think about it, even after showing such a great display, people are praising Frenkie more and calling him our best player.
ps : I dont hate FDJ, I just had to tell the truth.

Frenkie and gundos role are really different. Each has their responsibilities and both are doing great with only de Jong lacking because he plays better with a pivot. Gundo is doing great although I heard people say he sucks, which I don’t know why they would say that

I'm just saying that Gundo has always been an all-rounded player who can adapt by understanding the team's situation and making sacrifices accordingly, which FDJ could never do. until you provide a proper CDM alongside FDJ. FDJ is not a midfield controller, people are just deluded. he has always been a box-to-box overlapping midfielder.

Gundo's doing his job very well at barca but the team's overall garbage performance has overshadowed his contribution.Imo he has been our best player this season. He is giving his all but he doesn't have any support. It's very painful to see a trebel winning captain struggling for support

    • @alexmarques4432
      @alexmarques4432 Před 2 měsíci

Look around ! The coach is a two-treble + one sextuple winner (leaving aside his WCup, 2 Euros, 4 UCLs and more) He won LA Liga and the Spanish Supercup last season, but did the club help him ? The new Football Director, Deco, didn't even bring Xavi's only request, that all-important good quality defensive pivot to make up for Busquets' absence as much as possible. Instead, Deco bought a Brazilian 18 y.,o. striker costing 35M€ cash + 15M€ easy variables + 8M€ difficult variab. as an "inversion for the future", when we didn't even had a present at that point in time. To cover the team's actual needs he brought a 3.5M€ pivot by the name of Oriol Romeu because there was no more money (Oriol is a good home-grown player who was doing great for Girona, and besides he is a culer through and through, but with all due respect, he's not what the team required and he was overwhelmed by the job). In short, did Xavi get the help he required and the team needed? He was asking for so little, and his having just won the Liga and the Supercup the way we did meant that Xavi had all the credit any coach could possibly need to make such a reasonable petition expecting a positive answer.
Even the captain won a treble in 2015, for God's sake !, and he's been getting all sorts of hate from a zillion self-appointed "culers" in the internet!!!
However, I agree Gündo has been one of the best players in the team, some matches the best, and I'm confident he'll do even better from now on after Xavi has brought in new blood and made a tweak or two to the squad that seem to be working so far.

Gundo was a clutch player for us at City, and we fans know that. We wer so dependent on him. He used to score goals for us wen we needed, created Assists and was involved in def duties in the mid.
But the dif is, gundo has to do more for barca to win, he had less movement in city when compared to barca.

He doesn’t get shots off more often than not, he drops deep and off loses the ball or plays the wrong pass unlike ferran and Felix who have better mobility and understand the link up, and he isn’t always in position like at back posts. He has his pros and has quality but getting 20-30m and his wages off could help a lot, he should at least not be hindering roque and maybe Marc Guiu

Lewandowski has been criticized for his rough performances the past year, and it's true his form has been rough. but those stats that claim he had all those chances is actually a half-truth half-lie. I watched all of Barcelona's games in full and did not see Barcelona create many good chances, not especially for Lewandowski. I was surprised when I learned about those stats because Lewandowski for the most part was not given any good service. The so called chances were mostly Lewandowski taking a shot in very difficult circumstances such as being surrounded by several defenders. This was due to Barcelona being slow on the attack and allowing defenders to markup. Barcelona still moved the ball around quite a bit and dominated possession and this created the impression they were dominating and creating "chances", but all that was mostly ineffective. They were not creating many openings. Also, nobody can reasonably expect any player, I don't care if it's Haaland or Lewandowski consistently score goals every game if given just one or two chances throughout the entire game. Haaland by comparison gets much more good chances to score than Lewandowski.
Good news is, Lewandowski's form seems to have improved as well as the teams understanding of his positioning.

      @@ethanpenaranda5518
I don't think you really understand the type of player Lewandowski is.
He's not a "link up" player.
If it was about linking up, Xavi would have taken him off long ago.
Lewandowski punishes you with one move. That's it, one move is what it takes. Whether that's a pass or a shot. He's always looking for that one final lethal move.
He'll even lose the ball 4 times. He'll fumble around the ball like a complete buffoon, but then will absolutely crush you with his next touch. Other players need far more touches on the ball to be as effective as he is.
All Lewandowski really needs is a bit of space. Not even a lot of space. Just a bit. To put it in the back of the net.

Theres patterns where each Man City players that left the team has become somewhat mediocre, pleasing but still well failed to surpass previous standards at City with an exception of a few.
That's because City tactic doesn't rely on individual brilliance, it's all based on a system rehearsed to perfection. Even if they lose De Bruyne, there's players capable of playing the KDB role. We saw that when Zinchenko left, city are still able to play that LB position so well with CBs.

News flash... Barcelona aren't out of La Liga. And they certainly weren't a month ago lmao.
What a wild assertion to make. You don't need to make inflammatory statements to make your point. Gundogan needs rest so we don't riddle him with injury - just like all of our other players.

As much as I hope but to be really honest, Barca are not ready to win a champions league. What happens "if" we beat Napoli and progress to the Quarter finals and get one of the top teams that are scoring for fun? I'm really not in the mood for another champions league humiliation. Our defense is in shambles and we play stale football. We don't even counter attack that much, always build up play that leads to no mans land. If Lewandowski shows up and our defense is solid, we can pretty much beat any team in Europe. We need a solution and we need one fast!

What are you even talking about? Different role from City, different teammates and different system... same thing happens to most players and it is up to them adapt, improve and be better. The premise of this video is wrong, you are saying all of the changes going from city to barcelona is not a factor but somehow magically he is just the best version of himself in 'barcelona' lol
