#Daily Drum Exercises is a 52-week study plan and each week we'll cover a different style.
This week we continue with more Bossa Nova and some variations, including the use of the ride cymbal and the application of cymbal closures with the foot on the "&" of each beat. This is a common way of phrasing Bossa and prepares us for the Samba patterns later on. Although there are other ways to play the kick drum with the foot, this is a very common approach. Take your time, make sure you can coordinate both feet, then when you're confident add the hands.
Again, feel free to lead with whichever hand you're most comfortable with (so no maneuvering patterns are included).
