10 trillion IQ strats
1: Get 99 of the packages & unlock all the weapons before starting the 2nd mission
2: Do as many side missions as you can before you piss off every single gang faction
3: Use the wanted star replay glitch to dab on super cops
Half of the packages are on the other 2 islands.
But it is advisable to collect as many as possible before furthering the story. Same with doing the side missions like Taxi, Vigilante, Ambulance, and the Chonks/El Burro missions

Hey, at least you speak English. I played this game when I was a kid. Before I learned enough language to understand it. No tips, no mission objectives and no walkthroughs because I had no internet. And I fuckin beat it.

To be fair though, the game has some outdated mechanics and I say this as someone who likes and plays this game regularly. Take look at the Colombian Cartel hiding in the garages, they pretty much one shot you. There is no chance you'll make it on your first try because you can barely react to it, it's bad game design. Or Donald's last mission where you escort the security van. The AI can barely make it without crashing into everything and he sometimes gets stuck trying to get into the garage. Or hell, when you bait the Colombian into following you to the Yakuza's trap where you can fail mission if the AI is too incompetent (they drive off and die accidentally or the Yakuza are killed by the Colombians and thus fail because of them). Then there is also the fact visiting certain parts of the city is almost impossible after you reach a point in the story where the gangs hate you because every car blows up with 2 shotgun shells. Anyone who is going to play this game in 2020 for the first time is going to have a really bad time with it due to its frustrating and somewhat outdated design choices.
It's a 19 year old game, such stuff is to be expected. The best you can do is adapt and be more vigilant
JKL yeah the mechanics are a bit rough here. Like not being able to exit moving cars, no bikes or motorcycles, no planes (except the dodo), and Claude and Tommy being stiffer and less mobile than CJ.

I remember trying to play gta iii for the first time several years ago. It was such a painful experience. I gave up playing on second island and never touched this game after that. So, I can relate to Darkviper

GTA 3 is my least favorite because of the controls and how unforgiving the missions can be. Now if you ever stream Vice City Stories, you might have some stiff competition there.

This game has to have the hardest missions if you don't use cheats or watch turtorials for an easy or correct way
i remember beating this game 3 times as a kiddo on my ps2, i never used save abuse, so if i died i died and never used cheat codes, this game was super hard
this game sadly broke my ps2 console, cause i used homeless glitch to get unlimited molotov coktails, my console crash never worked again

Not true about roundabouts. The northeast got them but we call them rotaries. Although you always know when someone not from around here is on one cause they do not know how to drive around one.
Fun fact: this game was banned in australlia, making it impossible to be played upside down

American video games don't use them because they slow you down. While in real life that is kind of the point, there is little sense in doing this in a virtual space, as it just makes the experience more frustrating for the player. Also, many video games are mapped after big cities, which in real life have too much traffic to be able to make significant updates to the roads.
It's more recent in its history.

I was able to get 100% in this game two years ago because I wanted to get 100% on all GTA games.
