B&H taking body orders at US$5,995. Leica fixed length lenses at ~$5K. Going head-to-head with the X2D. If Leica has the AF that Sony has it is killer. Now if HB just had the really fast AF. Upgrade? Hopefully. The SL3 looks like a winner. Leica makes nice gear.
Interesting changes to the SL. It's a serious piece of kit aimed at a particular market, and likely too much camera for the average Joe - who possibly wants to travel light - something the M System speaks to. For commercial work, studio work - it's likely a winner, especially with the awesome autofocus tech. Are you planning to buy and replace the Sony kit? Hmmm .... 🤭
It’s a great upgrade and I dive deeper into whether I’ll buy it for commercial work in a video today if you can withstand watching me talk more about this camera.
📸 The stuff that DREAMS are made of & if you don’t have a dream how can you make it come true. Like a good ROLEX watch a LEICA SL3 is a good investment and wonderful camera to have as a family heirloom to hand down to the next generation of photographer filmmaker. I now know what I am working towards and saving up for.✌🏻😎🇦🇺 fyi - $20k to $30k camera & a couple of lenses (AUD)
I agree with you I really care about a 1TB SSD internal storage for example with a 1Gbps is just a small electronic chip to do all that, and they don’t even to invent a new one
@@aobane841 Leica ethos would have been making a flush screen(like x100v) or not making it at all. I thought that was the reason the previous models didn't have it
@@AskMOTTI sure did watch that video! I believe it's a good decision! Lumix S5M2 is great for video as well, had it for a while but am moving to the SL3 now! My eyesight being pretty poor, I will pass on the M for a while, but keeping all the M glass, because it's great with the SL system! Looking forward to seeing more of your experience using the SL3!
The weight is ideal but the extra dial and the new on/off. It feels foreign for a Leica. Just a nobody giving my 2 cents! Gorgeous sensor though. @@AskMOTT

I feel it’s a winner indeed , not Sony level tracking focus but it’s a much better experience in feel and function.

Almost all physical changes make it look less of a Leica. Adding a chamfer, and a giant On button with a glowing disc around...really??
I don’t love the new on/off button either but I don’t hate it either.
Agreed. I'm not a fan of the flip-up screen. Cheapens the camera, IMO.
