It is so easy to spend LOADS of money on stationery supplies, fountain pens, planners, & desk accessories...UNLESS you hit the thrift store! Thrift with me at my local Savers to find some fun items and ideas to help you save some money on great pieces!! I hope you enjoy it!
You have to try the antique stores! I have found some beautiful stationery accessories. Like vintage ink wells, nibs, ink blotters, etc…
I managed to pick up a calligraphy set and an 8 pack of inks at the weekend for under £10. Definitely worth having a look in thrift/charity shops.
I have been using a Paperage notebook for a gratitude journal. The paper handles fine to medium nibs with a little bit of ghosting. Thanks for inviting us to your home to talk about pens and things.

Paperage notebooks are surprisingly good for fountain pens! The pages are on the thicker side [I think 100 gsm], but they’re not super absorbent or coated in anything that makes the ink act weird, so I’ve had really good luck with them.
Loved this video. By the way, I'm sure you know a "scrivener" (spelled different from your pen brand) is a person who could read or write or who wrote letters as well as court and legal docs. They made a living by writing or copying written material. There you go, a new job for you. Ha!

Most of my "early" fountain pens came from Levenger, and I used their covers for years for my planners. Great brand and a great find! I have a friend who always stumbles upon luxury brand bags every time she goes to a thrift store--I need to go with her more often!

Thank you Lori!! #1 Keeping things out of the landfills. Our hobby of fountain pens (esp if we use cartridges) & all the notebooks and accessories and the packaging yikes!! Thank you Tara for another fun & informative video! I live on the West Coast of Canada and I’ve only visited one Savers when I was in Las Vegas, but there are thrift shops all over the world 🌍☮️🕊🌷

Some of the best finds came from thrift and antique stores. I got a bankers' green shade, brass lamp for my desk, and a Waterman fountain pen & bottled ink. In fact, it is the same Canadian vintage bottle discussed by the Pen Addict. I also got an oxblood, leather lined briefcase for $7 CDN, under the cost of the top grain leather & finish.

Love this overlap video! I always check out the office section at the thrift store too. My best find was a Filofax leather cover. I haven’t found a fountain pen yet, but maybe someday! Did the sunlac red pouch sell? I didn’t see a link for it.
