  • A "TO-JI" is a long-term stay in a hot spring resort for medical treatment.
Although the number of inns for hot-spring cures ("TO-JI" inns) is decreasing nowadays, there are still many traditional "TO-JI" inns remaining in Tohoku.
"TO-JI" inns are different from ryokan inns in terms of the quality of the spring water and the freedom of stay.
We would be happy if we could convey the charm of Touji inns to you. We hope you will visit a "TO-JI" inn in Tohoku.

    ・What is "TO-JI"?
Onsen have been used to treat illness and injury. A prolonged stay in Onsen for medical treatment is called a "TO-JI" (therapeutic hot spring cure). Ryokans for TO-JI, with their old architecture, inexpensive accommodations, and self-catering facilities, are unique from ordinary Onsen Ryokans and remain in many parts of Japan to this day.
