I should have wrote this sooner. I've probably listened to this particular video a hundred times. It is one of my favorites of Linda Perry because of how serious she looks. Her seriousness, for me, in this video is captivating! Her feelings about what she is singing seems so intense--very moving.
Years ago during International Mr. Leather weekend we went to "The Rocks" off of Lakeside drive in Chicago. There, we happened upon a tent that was set up. It was 4 Non-Blondes doing acoustic sets. Their CD had just come out and I had heard just a few of their tunes maybe once or twice. Didn't recognize them at first but you can't miss that voice! What a treat that was.
I think anyone can feel this song, I do. The narrator's train of thought is so real. Questioning themselves, the desire to do better, worrying about the future. The title "Spaceman" is a reference to society's idea of success.

Linda Perry is an amazing songwriter, and the 4 Non Blondes rocked. I've even ordered Linda's solo discs now. I regret having missed out on all this great music for this long!! Simply amazing stuff.

She may have been a drug user but there are no drugs in this performance.....this is what soul looks like....this is what soul sounds like....it's like the soul departs the physical and becomes a puppet master of the body....you don't control what your physical body does......your soul controls it. That's what makes a great vocalist....and musician. She is one of the best female vocalists of all time.....most people don't understand this.....musicians do.....Thank you Linda for your music.....and your soul.
