Including locomotives from UP and all its subsidiaries it's encompassed over the years, this is "every" Union Pacific Steam Locomotive reviewed in 10 words or less. "Every" because there are just too many Union Pacific locomotives to have ever existed eversince the company's formation in 1862. I will have likely missed a lot of locomotives from the 1800s, but I made sure to find every 20th century design I could find.
See where I got some of the photos and information:

Great video! Nice to see that many people have gotten inspiration from my series. Nice knowing about the various UP locomotives like the Shays (i didn't know about those). Fantastic work and cant wait to see what you have in store next.
Great video covering the various types of UP steam engines. I always appreciate coverage on the less famous steam engines such as the Shays and shop switchers, especially from railroads as famous as UP. Best of luck in college, and I can't wait for what's next.
You should do video on the Steam Locomotives of CN Rail and diesels of CN Rail
As an obscure UP steam enthusiast, I love this video! It’s nice to know that someone else knows about all of these engines, such as 4500, the 2-8-8-2’s, the shays, narrow gauge engines, and others! Always love flipping through William Kratville’s “Motive Power of the Union Pacific” to learn about these obscure engines. Also loved that “Last of the Giants” reference at 2:30 lol! If I may add one thing, UP’s early 4-4-0’s were actually named! No. 1 was named “Major General Sherman”, and 2 was named “Major General McPhearson” (Don Strack has a list of named UP engines on UtahRails). Overall, great video, and good luck in collage!
5:05 Excellent choice of using that one scene of 4014 pulling off that amazing feat he did back in late June of this year, Andrew. ;)
Andrew this video was good for me because I wanted a Union Pacific one here
Also have fun in college because my cousin Nathaniel is beginning too but not in Altoona but in NC/North Carolina also seeing that you made a video of Western Maryland number 202 I saw that engine in the past back in 2015 when I was 7 and that was on June 13th I got to ring the bell as on of the volunteers made me ring the bell of it but when I reunited it on the same day/ June 13th I wish it has a cosmetic restoration/repainting it is a shame that it will not run because they said they would do it but for now my favorite Western Maryland railroad Pacific and sole survivor will likely have a chance
I really love this 10 words or less video! I’d love to see one of the 10 words or less on the diesels, and the other with oddball powers.
did not know that Union pacific had shays but knew that they had ex C&O H-7 and ex NW Y3s, also the 2-8-8-0s
This is brilliant I want to do my own, but I can’t think of one to do
3:33 ive visited all three of those mikados featured in the pictures 😂
Great video, can’t wait for the Every Santa Fe Steam Locomotive review in 10 words.
Funny how people dont realize before the big boys, the GN R-2 2-8-8-2s were the largest locomotives ever made until the Big boys came
Love the 'last of the giants' reffrance at 2:31
Yeah, I chose to make those references myself as opposed to just inserting the actual clip into my video to avoid copyright issues
3:17 That’s at downtown Omaha, NE
That’s the Omaha Union Station in the top left of the image.
why do my neurotypical female cousins know a lot about Disney Princesses but not a lot about these Union Pacific steam trains?
Finally somebody acknowledges 4407, it's so silly
Great video. I have an idea for a kind of series of video for you so you know how you have dead on arrival what if you also had the opposite where instead of you talking about bad locomotives in this new series you could talk about good locomotives
The shay was probably bought and just had a random photo taken
The fef class is probably my favorite
Great video and good luck in college!
Have fun and be safe in college i enjoy your videos
3:10 The Locomotive Looks Like NYC Mercury

4:37 you should have said “Being the reason why Union Pacific formers exist since 1941”
Awesome video, Good luck in College.
is bigboy actually ptc fitted now? last i checked one of the biggest reasons for the diesel helper that everyone throws a tantrum about is so they could do the ptc from it and have the bigboy seen as just a really really long nose by the computer so they wouldnt have to basterdise the steamer with all the shit needed for all the electrical stuff. the screen in the bigboy last i checked was just a screen that connects to the diesels computers so the steam team can see the ptc info from the diesel
Yes he is. :) 4014 has been fitted with PTC since Mid 2021 onwards. ;)

Norfolk and Western next?
I thought Cowl Unit Productions was the only one doing this 😂
2:24 When did the union pacific get camelbacks?
They look alright...
They were a failed experiment to see if low quality coal could be burned in a Wooten firebox. Turns out it couldn't, due to "the refrigeration effect" from the air flow needed for combustion.

Diesels in one sentence:
Sounds like something a steam head like Baldwin would say back in its prime

2:30 Like Samson from The Brave Locomotive!!??!??!??!!!??
From UP’s 1957 film “Last of The Giants”, which mainly was about the Big Boys
Bro I did Union Pacific heritage units who know how long ago
I see you watch history in the dark
And, there’ll be further evidence of it in my upcoming Halloween special for this year.
Did you seriously call 1242 "A Sampson of the Rail's" I take it you too have seen Golden Age of Steam. Actually has inspired the name for a Thomas like character on Samson is a 0-6-0 Rogers class (I have picked my engines to fit BR loading gauge.) Still funny thing they say the T-57 are Moguls in that documentary. How odd when they are clearly ten wheelers, still won't need to take that into consideration for my toy production (loading gauge) since it is set in a world of toys. No humans never lived in this world our buildings exist because it is a parallel dimension. It has lore to it explaining oddities between them.
Yeah, both that and Union Pacific’s film “Last of The Giants”, the later of which I was impersonating the narrator of. I also suspect the Golden age of steam film copied LoTG, assuming that film was made first.
Big boy in 3 letters "B O I" OR "B I G"

And of course
“Mandated Cowl Unit Productions inspiration”
Starting to feel that this video is probably inspired by Cowl Unit Productions

It is debatable that you UP 4014 is the king of steam the only other contender I can think of is LNER 4472 the flying Scotsman
4014 can’t beat Scotsman as the most famous. That thing was already a record breaker before the Big Boys were even drawn up
@@AndrewTheRocketCityRailfan4014 you do have a good point
