- This episode finds us back at Fusion Motor Company (Fusion Motors) shooting the true definition of a "restomod." This is a fully restored 1969 Plymouth Road Runner with some modifications that make it an incredibly fun driver. Tubular A arms, big disc brakes, 707 hp Hellcat power plant, 6 speed Tremec transmission and a few other things. It looks almost factory but is so much better than what it was in 1969 so sit back and enjoy the ride...

Rallye Green for Plymouth and Chrysler) was only available for a limited production run in the spring of 1969. The seasonal availability of the color not only made it incredibly rare, but also earned it the nickname “Spring Green”. Even at the most prestigious of auto events, you’ll be lucky to find an original, real-deal “Spring Green” car.

My dad built this car in his shop in Iowa!!! So cool for you guys to show it off! ❤️💪
That’s so great!! Please tell him I loved the look and it drove perfectly!!
Grandpa knows how to turn heads
Your Pops did an amazing job🤙🤘😎
That's cool as hell shout out to pops 💪
My Great Grandparents were from Sydney Iowa then moved West to Seattle
Then moved to Vancouver island British Columbia Canada
Your Dad built a sweet Mopar!
This is why I love cars
Why we
Ohh this is why??
These cars don't need anything to improve their looks. They are absolutely awesome they way they came from the factory
Pistol grip shifter!! Yes!! This is how a classic MOPAR with the Hellcat engine should be set up!!
Whoever built that car nailed every element spot on .
I thought the same thing
Dude! This is easily in the Top 10 of cars you have featured! This thing is so damn cool! This is yet another reason I love watching your videos! Can you imagine calling a Road Runner a "Sleeper"????? Rad!
I agree Ryan!
Love this build. The perfect mix of modern and keeping the classic looks
This car is perfection to me, I love the original look with modern drivetrain and suspension
Taking me back to my childhood days with my dad's 69 road runner 440bb 4speed on the floor. Love it awesome car
I love these older cars. My dad had a 68 T-bird coupe with a short stroke 429...I totally enjoyed being pinned to the seat in it as a kid. We talk about it all the time, he's 78 and I'm 48. Wish I could find another one 😢
This roadrunner is absolutely stunning in that green
This right here is the stuff 70s era muscle car lover's dreams are made of!♥️
69 roadrunners are beyond awesome, had a 383 4 speed car in high school.
Street raced a 68 Roadrunner with a 383 and a four speed in the mid 70's. Put a Hurst shifter and a Hurst T handle on that car and then you will really be impressed! It weighed about 3/4 of a pound so it gave mass inertia and going from second to third, well, like punching someone in the face with heavy brass knuckles.
Love the comment and analogy!
Love this car, including the pistol grip. And that's the way I'd do it, even though the pistol grip wasn't available in 69.
EF6 Bright Green/Rallye Green, In the spring of 1969, both Dodge and Plymouth debuted one of the first and arguably one of the rarest High Impact options. Only available on a limited production run, Dodge named it Bright Green, while at Plymouth, it was called Rallye Green. No matter which name it goes by, EF6 is a rare and desirable color.
Thanks for the spot on answer…I read some of the same info but didn’t know for sure. I appreciate and hopefully others see and read this comment for accuracy
That is not only mopar-perfection, but muscle car perfection. The stance, the color, the wheels and tires, the motor. Everything! Man, there's a lot of "need and want" there :P
Don't know what's cooler, the paint scheme, the red line tires or the hunk of iron and aluminum under the hood. Terrific build on every level.
I’m right with you. Absolutely love this build
That's how a classic car has to look
I am a Mopar guy. Sweeeeet love it. OLD SCHOOL
Gorgeous, the way I would do one. Subtle and bad ass. Color matched rims and the dog dish caps are killer
This thing has the stance of my youth. That is how the hot rods were back in the day. Still love it today
This, Hellcat and 6-speed, and LSA 6-speed swap Nova are the vehicles I dream of being able to afford to restore and build one day.
One day. Gotta keep busting my ass and it’ll be a reality
now this i love, old school looks with modern engine and stuff
Me too! Such a perfect combo on this car
That car is a perfect example of mixing old with new. It all looks and works great together.
I owned a 69 Road Runner 383 4spd, and I miss it when I see another one. 69 is my favorite yr. I do not like vinyl tops but when you put a HEMI in one I could fall for most of them. I love the whine and giddyup Thanks Shawn you made my day. I hope the clutch pedal is softer than my old 69, mine was like a very heavy spring and made a sound of its own. I let some folks drive it and would giggle if we had to set at a stop light too long lol. You could see their leg shaking anticipating the release. Fond memories.
This is the look I'm going for with my road runner. That hell cat motor is just a dream though. I'll be sticking with the 383 😢
Yeah it’s a helluva car right ? It is a dream but my 71 RR is still a 383 with a pistol grip. It works fine for me on my budget…
@richarddevoe5871 71s are Wicked too. I miss the 72 we had. I want to own a 71 with a 72 grille and taillights. I hate the cheapo standard raised side markers Mopar went with across the board in 72. The 71 marker lights are a thing of Beauty. 👍
Damn what a car, it looks factory especially with the steelies and then you hear that Hellcat whine but the cherry on top of all this build is the pistol grip shifter, this car just blows me away.
I saw this car in person on hotrod power tour in 2021. Pretty sweet car.
When I had my 69 RoadRunner back in the day when you would see 5 or 10 of them on the streets every day I was running Cragars at all 4 corners, then later around the mid 80s I took the Cragars off and put the black steel rims on it with the dog dish hubcaps like this but said Plymouth on them.
MOPAR OR NO CAR!!!! BAD ASS CAR!!!!!😎👍👍
I need to add this car to my collection..
This would be an awesome road trip car
Call me ocd but that’d drive me nuts to have 3 headlights. I’d have to go twin turbo just for that reason 😂
I agree. If it were my car I would make those hood grills functional and have a custom air box feeding the motor cool air 😎
At least balance it out and take away the passenger’s light also.
you can have the supercharger without that
Make a wire mesh to cover the opening of the openings (I would also remove the passenger side interior headlight) and paint the mesh a silver white to blend in more with the headlights. BTW, I LOVE the white interior. My first car back in the 70’s was a 1970 Mach 1 with deluxe white interior.
It certainly is a bitchin car. However, I gotta admit…my OCD alarm was going off as well.
The pistol grip shifter, what made the Roadrunners so awesome. I looked at a 69 GTO at an estate sale. Had a pistol grip that was used in the 71 up b bodies. It was perfect for ergonomics in that GTO
Love a pistol grip
I do agree that pistol grips are where it’s at. However, only 70s and later would have had one. This 69 would had had a ball with the shift pattern on it.
You are correct sir
Back to Tuesday Friday videos luv it
Easily my favorite. Everything I would do to my car to make it fun and reliable the still look original. Absolutely would not have taken out one of my headlights though.
I love this build! And it drives perfectly
How's that work with 2 on one side and one on the other.
Beautiful car
this is my favorite kind of 60s build
Cruise Control was available from the factory in 1969, my 383 automatic Sport Satellite had it. The option code was N88 if I remember correctly. It stands out in my brain because it was an uncommon option, especially in a Plymouth.
That said, given the choice between an original, numbers matching Road Runner and this car, I'd go for the original. But then, a Pistol Grip in a '69 sticks out like a sore thumb to me since it wasn't available until the '70 model year.
You have a good memory. N88 it is.
Beautiful car, love the build! Not everyone will will be able to afford electric cars, and I'm in the oil & gas industry, we're not going away anytime soon. Cheers!
Luv a tuff MOPAR shoot.. thanks Shawn 💪🏻
...and the builder or owner didn't go for goof ball 22" "pro-touring" rims. Respect.
Yup, you can stuff your modern electric cars up the chimney for all I care - this is absolutely GORGEOUS! As Steve McQueen once said, "New stuff is NO good!" This most certainly IS!!
Sweet Ride..Pistol grip with modern technology..Nice!!
Perfect Plymouth Road Runner, Rally Green sweet mopar. Excellent looking car so original.
my father had a '69 Roadrunner with the pistol grip. A such beautiful car. My hearts pounds so fast when he revs up the engines
I luv the whine of a SC early in the morning
Nothing like it
Such a sick Modifikation🔥😎🤩
I could go for that. 69 Roadrunner is my favorite. No extra frills.
Very sexy 69! I own a 69 with a 440 4 speed manual. A lot of fun! Great content! ✌️
Really cool car didn't know about the Superbirds having vinyl and the Daytonas not having them. Big fan of the steelie style rims.
Absolutely NOTHING cooler than a hellcat swap while leaving the vehicle looking original
Agreed and this one is really well done
Now that's one Mean Green Machine Dude ! 🫡🇺🇸
That's a real sweet car. I love old school sleeper muscle cars, just like what I grew up with. Perfect. 👍🏻
As soon as you drop a new show, I watch.
May be one of my favorite cars on here. The white interior is perfect.
WOW all I can say I just hope the owner humbles a few Challenger hellcats it's at least a half ton less.
Hit the road runner Jack…. Nice even in green
This video made my Year. Absolutely Love this Roadrunner.
Saw that car on the 2021 Power Tour. It's a killer machine...
Love the color 👍👍
I had 69' RoadRunner as my daily driver in the mid 70s until the late 80s. In the late 70s I had 2 vehicles so switched back and forth. No one complained about if I can or can not drive a vehicle all day or not.
Absolutely stunning car awesome color and love that the car pretty much looks stock but has all the goodies hidden 👌👌👌 so tasteful
MOPAR MUSCLE 💪🇺🇸💪🇺🇸💪
DAMN! the "Hell Runner"!!!
Really special car. I’m digging the poverty caps.
Fantastic build!!!! Everytime I hear that supercharger whine, I feel happier than a kindergarten on a seesaw! Every part of this car is perfect! That interior work, roll cage, head lights are crazy... I love it!! And the vintage a/c is a must.
Love the colour combo!
Very cool really enjoyed!! 👍👍
Yes that's another awesome build to driver
That’s all I’d ever want or need right there. Perfect setup for the street. Thanks for your channel it’s one of my favorites 🤘🏻
Old school looks with new school reliability. Soooooo sick
Perfect combination. At least for me cars from the 50/60/70s are way better looking then the toys the build today. Sure the tech you get in nowadays cars is more convenient, reliable and has more creature comfort.
If you have the money you can have the best of both worlds. The way better styling of the old cars with the way better tech from the new ones.
Perfect…. Simply perfect
I’ve binged all of your videos
Sweet car would like to see some more mopars...super stock cars
The cold air intake gives it more noise not smaller pulleys. Even with the stock airbox they still whine good.
A roadrunner for the 21st century!❤👍👍👍
Definitely got my attention 😁 clicked on instantly!!!! What a beautiful ride ✊
Very cool build. Cant go wrong with a supercharger EVER!
Great Looking Car Thanks Another Fun Video
Insanely amazing ride!! You guys are great together. Talk about being on the same page! great show, great car!!
Thank you. Yoel is a good friend and has an amazing business. And yes…I love this car!
Every week I wait for this program, Shaun; I never know what you'll have on it but I know that it will be cool. Love everything about this Roadrunner and am presently asking myself why in hell I ever sold mine. Little things make the car.....subtle, like the pipes running clear of the back bumper. Hey, if you're getting rid of exhaust fumes; get rid of 'em! The dog dish hubcaps, white striping, white vinyl top all coordinate to make this car stand out in a way that is different and one of a kind. Keep the Faith, Buddy. Tom P.S. More Mopar, if you please.
Love this. Had a green 1969 Road Runner in the 1990s and I’ll never forget how that thing jumped from a rolling start and the growl of its 383. Hope the next owner restored it and took it to car shows like he planned. Hawaii car with no heater from the factory if I remember right. Hope he got his $1500 worth. 😂. I’m not a huge car guy so it was just fun to own it for a while. I’m not bitter.😢
I Really Really like this car its just right in what I like in style looks right off show room floor with a very very nice surprise 😊 👌 ☺ 😀 😄 THOSE WERE THE BADASS DAYS ROADRUNNER,GTX,DAYTONA SUPER BIRD
Crap, it sold already.. I wanted it bad.. that is perfect.. great job keep bringing great cars.. thx
Thanks and yep…went quickly
@@AutotopiaLA Great content.. Keep it up.. Im heading out that way soon im gonna stop by. I have few cars out there you would love to drive.Dan
I saw 6 speed manual and clicked so quick
Thankyou for bringing this machine to us love it
Sick!!!!!
Bad Ass !! Love the 6 speed pistol grip , Super Rad build !
I love the factory wheel look. Yet the tires look like tiger paws grasping the ground with a good width....
This is pretty much how I’d do a Roadrunner if I had the money
i love this car. And the hellcat under the hood. It's such a great combo. if it was mine. i would change the top interior and rims to black.
Badd ass man thanks Shawn wow 😳
This to me is the perfect example of retro-mod. I love the white interior and vinyl top.
God this is awesome. I’d love to do this to a dart!
Beautiful Run'r Guys
Congrats Fusion👍
This car has everything desirable. Gorgeous build! I'm in love!
Man that is a wicked bird. I had a b5 69 in high-school 1978
Love the color!
Classic MOPARs deserve either a built 440 or a 426. This is sacrilege.
It’s a reliable every day driver
