    Card draw is king in this game. With Rabble, you have an opportunity to both play and raze Tavern, allowing you to draw three cards.
    -Build Rabble using one wood (destroy statue to pay Rabble's foundation cost).
    -Turn two workers into a pomegranate.
    -Make a deal using the Chapel card (spend your eggplant, gain a gold).
    -Build Tavern using one gold and one stone (gain a card).
    -Spend two workers to activate rabble and raze tavern (gain two cards and a wood, leaving a foundation behind).
    You have the option of skipping the deal; turn the two workers into a wood and build the tavern using that instead of gold. But I think the Chapel is more useful generating a gold every turn as a deal than it is as a building.
    Hopefully between your three card draws you got something that cost a wood and a stone, since that is what you'd have left. You even have a foundation available for a faction card.
    For the last three rounds, look to follow the pattern of build a common building with a building bonus, use it if it has an action, raze it yourself with Rabble, then build a faction building on the leftover foundation.
    Edit: it looks like Christan Mazzaretto beat me to the punch with an almost identical suggestion.

      @Anatomy0204 Před 7 lety

      I agree that card draw is king, and with your suggested strategy. I want to add that the Chapel be used to make a deal for the gold.
      If a deal is made with the Chapel, the first step should be to send two workers to scavenge for the required apple. The resulting gold may then be used for wood to build the Tavern and the Rabble. Depending on the card drawn, the remaining two workers can then be used to raise the Tavern to draw two more cards. I would draw one card from the general deck and then one of each when the Tavern is raised.
      If the Chapel must be built, it will probably not be built this turn (due to the limited wood and only one foundation). The four workers may be sent to gather wood to have enough to build the Tavern and the Rabble. This, however, will leave no workers to raise the Tavern this turn.

    Rabble: I don't think you want to build this, since you won't be using a lot of razing your buildings
    Chapel: It sounds like a good way to score points, since it can't be razed, and uses workers, which you have a lot.
    Carpenter: You're producing 2 wood from the forest, you might go for this one too, since it basicially gives you 3 points per turn, which is a good amount in this game.
    Tavern: I never liked this building, but you might want to use it as last resort in fifth round to gain some extra points.
    My plan:
    Build the Carpenter and shield it. (EDIT: Shield it when you feel that Pep is about to raze the Carpenter) Pep won't be able to raze it, so you'll be able to gain quite a lot of points, if you put a lot of your resources into it. You might find yourself in a situation, where you'd want to convert workers into that extra wood for the Carpenter. If you're not feeling so confident, you can go for the Chapel - but it'll net you less points. Raze the Tavern for two extra cards, and hope for a wood/barbarian production building, to have more things for the Carpenter. If Pep builds a at least a 2 point produce building - raze it if you can. (EDIT: If Pep razes your Carpenter, build Chapel.)

    • @DanielRedMoon
      @DanielRedMoon Před 7 lety

      Since Rodney is getting 1st player next turn, I see no point in shielding any of his buildings, as Pep doesn't really have anything to Raze him with, does he? That Shield would be kind of wasted by using it early.

    • @transportowiec96
      @transportowiec96 Před 7 lety +1

      Of course you are right - I should adjust my suggestion to mention that. But 8:38 - Pep took an Armorer which will allow him to Raze the carpenter

    • @DanielRedMoon
      @DanielRedMoon Před 7 lety

      Doesn't he need 2? Rodney could shield it after he has one, and before the next turn. Still, the Chappel might be better for points due to the amount of workers he can get.

    • @transportowiec96
      @transportowiec96 Před 7 lety

      Chapel can only be activated twice per turn - which will give less than the Carpenter. That's why I changed my suggestion, to use up the ruins of the Carpenter after it'll be razed for Chapel, so he can still generate some points each turn.

    • @ambierona
      @ambierona Před 7 lety

      Tavern is good for getting cards - he can raze the Tavern from hand to get 2 cards. I suggest drawing faction cards - try to go for Dark Chapel and any other cards that give you points for razing, since barbarians love razing stuff.

    nice video like always
    my suggestion is:
    play the tavern and draw a card (common) play the rabble card (pay the cost with the statue) and then use it to raze the tavern to draw some card (i suggest 1 faction and 1 common or 2 faction).
    if you find some production card build that (if needed use the tavern you razed to pay the cost) otherwise draw another card with the remaining two barbarian Vikings xD (i suggest faction) or use the 2 worker to gain a tomato and make a deal with the chapel card (but i think is better to build the chapel next turn to start make some points)
    i think right now you have to build/find some production building

  • @DanielRedMoon
    @DanielRedMoon Před 7 lety +3

    Since Pep can't really do anything to your common buldings, I'd say, leave him be and concentrate on your field.
    1) Send 2 [Workers] to get you a [Tomato].
    2) Use the gained [Apple] to Make a Deal with the [Rabble], getting +1 Worker.
    3) Send 2 [Workers] to get you [Wood].
    4) Build the [Chappel] with the 2 Wood, and destroy the [Pig Farmer]. As you are getting more workers than Tomapples, and that's a better way to get points! Also, cannot be destroyed by Pep.
    5) Use [Chappel] for +1 VP (Victory Point), by spending the remaining [Worker], or you can store it for later.
    You are left with 2 Stone.. which would be lost, I guess. The [Tavern] and [Carpenter] cards, you could have built with Stones aren't particularly useful to me.. maybe the Carpenter, and the Tavern can be Razed for +2 Cards later.

    A little note there, Rodney killed an imperial messenger at 5:00 there was a situation where the Hans had expanded to such an extent that they were satisfied remaining in Asia and since the Ottoman empire was boardered with them they sent some messangers from the Hans to negotiate piece and wish them prosperity, but the messengers were killed and it sparked a massive war that lead to the Hans invading Europe to hunt down all Ottomans ...

    Hi guys, I played imperial settlers, thanks to your videos it was so much easier. I came across a card that raised some questions, so I'm just going to ask how to use that. It's a Barbarian faction card, the Rabble. It's an action card and says "spend two workers to raze one of your own common location". If I activate it, does it mean I have to flip the location (I already built) to raze it? And like usual and get a wood and the resources "gain to raze" on that card? Please advise.

    • @WatchItPlayed
      @WatchItPlayed  Před 6 lety

      You've got it! You raze is just like anything else you'd raze, except that you get to raze a location you've built (which you normally can't do). Glad the videos were helpful!

    So I'm late to the game on this video, but I was watching to get a feel for the game before playing myself. Was there a mistake at 4:05 with the primeval forest? Shouldn't a common location have been scrapped to build the forest?

    • @BradJessup
      @BradJessup Před 4 lety

      Most faction buildings do require the scrapping of another building which is denoted by the building symbol in the top left corner (the "Pay to Build" section) of the card. However in the case of the Primeval Forest, there is no building symbol so it doesn't cost a building to build it.

    Does the statue gain you points for every grey building you build, or only for the grey buildings you had at the time you built the statue? If the former, shouldn't you have gained a point when you built the quarry?
