In comparison to the 2012 Insinkerator Evolution Compact 3/4hp that it replaced, it's a little quieter and I can tell it's a little more powerful (not significantly for either). I only replaced it for this review and it was working perfectly fine 11 years after install, which is a testiment to how long they last. I have two other lower end disposals in other houses and it is MUCH quieter than those. If you have an older Insinkerator Evolution that is still working fine, it's not a significant upgrade.
FYI, the Evolution 1hp is the one that ISN'T sold at Lowes. That one has one year of extra warranty at a similar price to the Lowes unit. I believe everything about the unit is the same as the Lowes unit, but just the warranty on the Lowes unit is 10 years as opposed to 11 for the Evolution 1hp.

No, air switch is not included. 110v cord is not included either, only direct wire.
