When I hear about the problems at the border I think about the border agents and judges that would have been hired to address the problem... but weren't because Trump wanted the bill that funded the extra agents and the judges tanked. Right now someone can cross into the US illegally, make a ridiculous asylum claim, and then stay in the US for 7, 8, even 10 years before their claim gets a final ruling by a judge and they're kicked out. The bill that Trump killed would have meant that these ridiculous asylum claims would get ruled on very quickly... eliminating the biggest incentive for all these illegal crossings. It's just sad that Trump would rather have the problem to make political points rather than do what's right for America.
