Tips & Tricks:
>Platforms only make stairs by default when Smart Cursor is on. Otherwise you can change them into stairs with a hammer, just like you would slope blocks or modify rail interchanges.
>Upgrade your lesser health potions with Glowing Mushrooms at a brewing station (put an empty glass bottle on top of your creating station).
>Fighting the Eater of Worlds underground is *absolutely fine.* Your main problems were not noticing that the heads do way more damage than the body (~30 vs ~1), *not having the Shadow Bow,* (still not sure why chat wasn't yelling at you about that) and not making effective use of your Jester Arrows; they have infinite piercing, and the Eater of Worlds is made up of tons of smaller segments which each take damage individually, meaning you want to try and line up your shots lengthwise along its body to hit as many segments as possible.

>Do Dungeon Defenders sooner rather than later, and save up enough Defender Medals to buy the next tier of weapons before progressing onto Hard Mode. Personally I feel that the way he plays is awesome. Do I scream at the phone sometimes while he's looking for things? Yes. Is he going to struggle through expert? Yes. But he's learning pretty quick~ especially considering the first couple episodes of expert 😉

You don’t need more space. That long tunnel is literally there for the boss. You’re not supposed to build arenas and crap. That’s not how it’s meant to be played.
Jordan mixed up the Arms Dealer and Demolitionist in BOTH playthroughs. Amazing.
Use worm food! It summons the boss as long as you’re in the corruption, so you can make an arena and summon it above ground.

Try using a different class this time. Maybe use different loadouts for each class you haven't used much, like summoner, mage, and ranger. summoner is really good for eater of worlds because of the whip's huge range and infinite pierce. You should also make an actual arena and start trying to dodge. Just tanking attacks isn't gonna cut it in expert mode
Get this to the top, the people want diversity
Whips are no good for EoW, they deal reduced damage when hitting multiple targets in one swing. The only whip availabe at this point loses 50% dmg per target. I think a ranged build is most likely to work for Jordan.

I really wish someone would explain to him that he can place a platform or any other block/furniture you can walk through on the inside of his doors to prevent blood moon enemies from being able to open them. Even torches work.

(only been mentioning it every time you griped about non-symmetrical houses. lol)
- Viable houses only need to HAVE a door (or platforms). They do NOT need to have a door that opens to the outside.
- Blood Moon increases spawn-rates clear across the surface, and disables the protection NPCs give you when near towns.
- Expert is just way more brutal. EoW is easier than Brain. Like someone said in an earlier episode. It's the easier of the two bosses, but you won't think so, because you are also in Expert mode now. Also... Underground is actually where it's meant to be fought, as of 1.3, it's gotten some... defenses... to being above ground. It can shoot projectiles out its sides in Expert and up, and if you're on the surface, they can hit you SO much easier, then when they're underground with all those blocks in the way.
I don’t think any of those npcs dislike the jungle, and also the door thing I assumed was just a looking good and convenience thing rather then him thinking it had to be done bc it’s what I do.

I always put external doors too, but with Jordan here, you never can tell if he legitimately things he 'has' to do something, or just 'wants' to. So I erred on the cautious side. Not like he reads any of these anyways; but I feel better from it. lol

I facepalmed so hard when he built it and literally went "Wow I didn't make it even this time!" After he looked at it and counted each side
Protip for dealing with lots of ground enemies: Enemies with Zombie AI (including Goblins, Skeletons, Pirates, etc.) follow you down platforms. If you want to clear a platform of these enemies, dip below then come back. Super useful for keeping enemies away from you during events like Goblins, Pirates, etc.
Eater segments drop hearts, so if you can get above ground you basically cant die to this boss. The head is the only part that deals the real damage and later on vile spit too. So just get above ground, keep shooting jester arrows and remember that you can basically just bounce across his whole body and not lose like 3 hearts of health. Avoid the head and you win. When he splits focus on killing the little pieces instead of the big one since that only gives you more targets

For fighting underground Jardon actually got pretty close to beating it surprisingly. For my recommendation I definitely would fight it above ground and if you put the arena high enough while still being in the corruption you can make the boss pretty easy. Also once you are able to this boss is very good to farm for money at this stage, basically selling what it drops.
Also, if you cant dodge

Honestly eater of worlds is so easy just use the jester arrows and he would've won. He only used the sword 90% of the time.

just a note for healing up box yourself in. other note is for beating that boss you can hook yourself somewhere and use a flail(or yo-yo but less effective) or go on the surface and make a platform so you can deal damage over lengths rather then in 1 spot getting hit.

When fought above ground in Expert, the EOW's vile spit has increased fire rate and movement speed
best advice I have for the worm is either stay ahead and shoot down its body for a lot of damage across segments, and try to aim only for the head so it doesnt break up too much. Also above ground would give you more room to move, but in expert mode, his segments all spit at you, doing a good amount of damage, and its somehow easier (at least for me) to dodge that in the cave... not sure if thats cause im lucky or because he just doesnt shoot from close range, I havent tested that or looked it up and I don't plan on changing that

i cant believe he still makes his houses 1 block too tall, forcing him to jump/grapple every time he wants to replace the ceiling or fill in walls.
My favourite series at the moment
Just blast the centre area wider with sticky bombs and then run a central platform along the length. That lets you stay clear of the ground giving you a chance to dodge when it's surfacing, and gives you more room to pierce multiple segments of it with arrows or some of the melee options like flails.
Also be aware that dodging through the body hurts less than letting a head hits you, but that requires you to avoid shield charging it
You should fight the torch god, not hard and easy to spawn… just place 101+ torches while in the caverns
I generally fight the worm with melee since the head sections drop hearts if you kill them. Definitely use ironskin and regen, and campfires and heart lanterns, and sunflowers if you can plant em. And go for accessories/reforges.
Doesn't the absurd amount of the Eater's segments max out the entity count and prevent spawns anyway?
@@breadsticks2140 you would reduce the chance of an enemy spawning just before you break the last orb. Sunflowers also increase movement speed.

For eater of worlds a good strategy is making a large relatively flat area either underground or on the surface and then simply running the length of it away from the boss while shooting jester arrows backwards at it, it should prevent him from wrapping you, and it'll keep his body as 1 long line that the jester arrow can pierce substantially better, increasing your survivability as well as your dps
A couple of notes:
> The third shadow orb that spawn the Eater also drops loot. Shadow orbs can drop a weapon that absolutely destroys the boss, you might have already had it drop but you didn't go get the loot from the third orb (the left most one) and now it's gone
> Vile mushrooms (from corruption surface) and rotten chunks (from the eaters) make worm food, a spawn item for the boss, that you can use anywhere in corruption, even on the surface
> You should try focusing all your efforts to a single class at each point in the game. You have always worn meelee armors, but you might want to look into ranger or mage stuff, or maybe even summoner. Just keep your loadout focused on a single class, or it will suck
> When you do eventually build a "main arena" where you will fight the mechs and moon lord at least, don't build it so high up that wyverns will spawn. A bit off the ground, and way more massive than last time should get you through. Don't put solid walls on it so you don't get caught on them. Put down heart and mana lanters, campfires, bast statues and everything else. Movement will be key in the harder fights, so a very wide arena with some good space between a few rows of platforms will help immensely.
> Try all the weapons and accessories that you get, but haven't yet utilised. Some might have "low stats" but piercing or homing abilities for example. Those can multiple the actual damage you deal, and are sometimes much more important than a few points in base attack.
> Don't be scared of mana. Get all the fallen stars to get up to 200 mana, and then look into getting a mana flower. It is an accessory that really makes playing mage very different, as it will make sure you never run out of mana. Mage is one of the coolest classes in my opinion, and can often deal way more damage than meelee, the tradeoff being lower defense. Just don't get hit.
> You should only use smart cursor when you're actually using it in my opinion. Most of your misclicks (opening npc chat instead of chest for example) seem to be happening because you have smart cursor on and the npc happens to be between you and the chest. When you want to dig or build walls, smart cursor is great, but it will make your inventory sorting and such very tedious and slow.

You should definitely NOT focus on a single “class”, because terraria doesn’t have classes. You are meant to use any and everything you want. Magic, swords, bows, and anything else. There’s no fun in using only one.
Also, you don’t need to spawn the boss on the surface. The underground tunnel is literally there specifically for the boss.
@@Kevmaster2000 There is no class locking mechanics like in some rpgs, but terraria definately does have classes. I'm not saying stick to a single one, that can become boring, but you should try to use magic weapons with magic boosting armor and accessories, or they will be nearly useless. There are accessories and weapons that have great synergy, and those that have none. If you have a meelee damage build and try out a magic weapon, it will be very bad so you might discard it right away. You're gonna miss out on a lot of the fun if you just throw on everything you find and throw out anything that doesn't do well at that moment. Considering the different classes and their different playstyles, strengths and weaknesses will help you a lot.
The Eater of Worlds spawn underground in the tunnel designed for it, like queen bee spawns in her nest full of honey that slows you down. If you're struggling, or just want to try a different approach and want more space to move around, both of these bosses can be summoned elsewhere with items like the Worm Food (or Abeemination) I described. The eater fight will be a lot easier on the surface in normal mode (if you don't use something like the vilethorn to make it trivial even underground).
So fun fact about Eater of Worlds. In Expert mode his head deals a lot more damage than his body. So getting rammed head on is horrible, but running into the middle of him is not that bad.
And when he breaks apart ALL of the heads share that damage boost. Also Fighting him below ground is fine if you have a lot of armor and health, but fighting him above ground gives you more space to move. But even above ground he has mad hops. He's a fun fight... I like him much more than the Brain
You can shimmer shadow scale armor to turn it into ancient shadow scale and vise versa
idk why they want you to use the bow on the Eater or Worlds so badly. melee is the best for him because the bow breaks him up more. with a sword you can just step to the left and right as needed and try to keep him in 1 or 2 pieces. also killing the pieces drops hearts that refill you life so i can usually just grapple to the ground so i dont take knockback and just full on tank him
summoner is the best because of the huge range and pierce that whips have in comparison to everything else. and the summons themselves are obviously really good too

It melting
A golden or platinum bow with jester arrows is probably the second most viable weapon for Eater, the first being the vilethorn.
He doesn't really need to worry about worm bosses though.

you got some pretty nice loadout there, it tanks a lot of hits from eater of worlds, ig maybe find more crystals? you almost killed it! ooh, or maybe if you have the goblin tinkerer you could buy some 18 copper coin spike balls and place them in advance before you start the fight? great playthrough!
Use your banners appropriately. you can use them to weaken the enemies. Like your eater of souls banner you can place it on your little arena
The fact he said "With that armor I'll be able to tank his hits" shows he hasn't listened at all or cared that people have told him he can't just stand still and tank hits in expert. In the fight with EoW he spent half the fight standing still and grappled to the ceiling while he got hit continuously instead of using his bombs to make his arena bigger so he had room to run and dodge and instead took the "lazy" way of just saying "Hey its already a tunnel I'm okay with that"
You don't have to go above ground for the boss, but bombing out some space, crafting potions and maxing your health will greatly improve your chances
funny thing is i just fought the worm boss underground but it was in normal mode and with a friend in version 1.3.3.whateverthelastnumberis so it was definitely much easier than it'll be for you lol
summon the EOW above ground w/ an arena and w/ worm food, much easier to battle compared to being underground

You asked the other day if you could build mini golf courses in game, and I think I forgot to mention it on that video, but if you go to the steam workshop for terraria there are a bunch of maps people have built for golf in terraria.
You can afford a Minishark. Perhaps go for a ranged build?

Bet you didn’t know if you go to the ocean you can get a chest or 2 which may or may not have boots that let you walk on water. Usually the first thing I go and get if I can survive the trip.
still blows me away that nobody has told jardon that you can use shimmer to transform ores into their ore alternatives, f.e. iron to lead, or tin to copper, and vice versa. not sure if it works for demonite/crimtane, but there’s no real reason to hang on to the copper sword.(other than simply having it so you don’t have to go through the extra work to get it again)

Hey cap, if you break a block on the ground outside of your door the mobs will not be able to open the door nor bang on them
Your load out was fair to take the eater.. a higher ceiling and smoother floor would have helped.. but now you know to hit primarily the head with luck arrows along the rest of the body. I don’t think you need to beef up just yet but it wouldn’t hurt.

i just dont understand why no one makes worm food for fighting eow. people seem to act like its just impossible to find six vile mushrooms and 15 rotten flesh. its not like youll get most of that in the process of making a sane and rational arena or anything.
Yes Jordan, you can get "heckstone armor" and "absolutely tank this dude" but you gotta realize that that's not the way to play expert mode. You're probably not gonna be able to just tank wall of flesh or most of the hardmode bosses, so making an appropriate arena is pretty important.
Pro tip: Max out your hearts already.

If he wants to get anywhere at a certain point in this playthrough he's going to have to prioritize not getting hit. If it's bad now, it's going to near impossible for him later if he doesn't dodge.

Theres no way to fight this boss in an enclosed space. Either lead it above ground OR sticky bomb the corruption to make an underground arena. Those are the only two ways to go about this.

Expert Eater of Worlds is way way easier than expert brain of chtulu
random tip (idk what your keybind for quick heal is), but i like having mine at "Q" since it's very easy to reach
also the eater does require a lot of space to fight in cause it's huge! you can tank a bit of the body segment hits however. Hit the head, BUT avoid the head at all costs. You can try to lure it into a straight line and use piercing attacks, cause splitting them can be pretty overwhelming.
Another thing to keep in mind is that when you use a grappling hook and is grappled to a block, you won't take knockback, so if you ever get stuck and knocked around, just grapple your way out of it!

First, you can get Fledgling Wings pre hard mode from the islands. Next, make the Blade of Grass sword from Jungle Spores. Each section gets poisoned and deals a ton of damage.
So, I am bad at video games. But even I managed to win against the eater of worlds. Why? Because I fought it above ground. So yes, please fight it above ground xD

A lot of facepalming and screaming at the screen on this one... Though that Abigail moment was comedic as heck, even if I did facepalm super hard.
You made 100 sticky bombs. Use them to make more room to fight the Eater of Worlds. You also didn't have campfires on that side of the tunnel.
You can get Fledgling Wings from the sky islands pre-Hardmode as well as some other useful accessories.

Seriously, losing to Eater of Worlds, the easiest boss in the game.
Bow was fine, Jester Arrows were fine, if he only realised how the piercing works and took a second to line up his shots, he wouldn't even be dying, tanking the hits is fine as long as you keep up the piercing and collecting the hearts each section drops.

Watching Terraria and Vault Hunters made me realize Minecraft is making players lazy. All you need is melee. It's hardly even worth bringing a bow or a crossbow in a vault. Mage, what is that?
Terraria offers many classes, however, you need to be good at dodging if you're doing a full class build. Melee armour allows you to tank the most. At this point you can get better armour than you actually need. But this way you'll never learn... Probably this _cheesing_ won't work toward the end.

.... just fight it above ground.... where there's already space....
it does move faster and also always shoots spit on the surface, but spit projectiles are breakable and the speed increase is negligible since you are in an open area.
splitting it too much is not good because head segments deal over 2x the damage of a body segment, but since youre also creating a tail segment which only does 17 damage, it buffs out and you can abuse i frames by getting comboed by body and tail segments.
And i know for a fact that 90% of people will cry for him to use worm scarf. Worm scarf is insanely overrated. You aren't even supposed to be hit; do not use worm scarf.
Yep, he needs to build a high platform on the surface.
Issue is he is notoriously bad at dodging, so Worm Scarf is super helpful to him.
