I'm beyond terrified about one day having to deal with YT customer service. I really hope they set up a contact for creators almost like an on-call 24 hour service. Hell I'll even pay like I used to pay the Nintendo Power Hotline back in the day when I couldn't beat Metroid. Well my parents actually paid but...

100% accurate. Then there's tech support at my work who, if they can't solve your issue within 3 minutes of Googling, will tell you there is no solution and close the ticket as "resolved".
Is this an American thing? I have been working in customer support for... Over 13 years... (Jay not finishing college) and the amount of times I couldn't explain why something had happened is maybe a few dozen times in literally over 10.000 calls 😶
@@SyntheticFuture I'm Australian and I must say I've only noticed the sharp decline in how helpful support is in the last 2 or 3 years. I'm sure there are still plenty like you who are good at what you do, but you're getting very rare in my experience.
@@ashchaya7676 what you say is true to an extent though. There's always been a slow decline. Companies always test the water with how little they can do for their customers. Aka: how little money they can lose on support. I guess at least in the Netherlands that lower limit seems to be a bit higher than in most places in the world? 😅 Or maybe there's still a few more people working in support that give a damn about their job 😅 I'm somewhat afraid companies will soon jump the "AI" bandwagon and things will go south very fast.
THIS IS THE EXACT thing that happened to me. They refused to tell me anything. They just kept telling my to delete the video in violation, and wouldn't tell me which one. And it was a video that was up for over a year and I had over 300 videos to choose from. I ended up deleting one by one untill they finally gave my monetization back, and then ended up taking it away anyways. This whole thing has happened to thousands of us. It's absolutely terrible. I've since went to Twitch and I refuse to go live on youtube again
This is EXACTLY the same experience I had last year when they demonized me for four months. I ended up deleting over half the videos on my channel before they told me they didn’t find my channel in offense of anything. While I am glad you found what caused it, I still have NO idea what I did wrong. They still won’t tell me. Despite the subject matter, this was very well done.
Most likely som asshole that just wants to troll people reported you to youtube and you got AUTOMATICLY banned. CZcams do not want to ever admit they do anything wrong so they give people the run around when they complain and after a few months they just lift the bann silently without comments...

Let's get real for a second. I believe there's something like a thousand hours of content being uploaded every second to CZcams? It's at least in that order of magnitude. Unless they gate who can upload there's no way in hell they'd be able to check everything. If CZcams send a mail (kinda dumb... Why not post that in chat only visible to the creator and pinned to the top?) specifying what was going wrong that's fair enough.
The real issue here is how copyright laws are being created and enforced which is not something CZcams can do a whole lot about.
@@SyntheticFuture considering the budget that youtube has, and who they are affiliated with - they absolutely have the budget to hire more people... but that would mean google execs wouldn't much see an *increase* in their bonuses, and they just cant have that.

@@nathanr7931 the problem with CZcams community guidelines are that they are written by lawyers. They are as vague as they can be and can be interpreted however CZcams sees fit. Aside from that the report system is very easy to abuse.
I started my channel like idk... 13 years ago.. With the idea of doing drum covers but really quickly stopped doing that. It's just a minefield. I'm surprise so many people are still willing to deal with the stress.

With the amount of revenue this platform has generated off of YOUR channel one would think they'd be more apt to this resolved. Maybe time for a big change? Hopefully it can be resolved, it seems like the lack of communication aspect has been happening to many youtubers alot lately. You'd think a company like google would be professional enough to handle good communication with the people who keep the interest in the platform.
To be honest, a company as big as Google doesn't care about individuals and is big enough to not have to. I used to do outsourcing for Microsoft and people at the bottom of the corporate hierarchy (who might actually care) have no say in anything, while Microsoft managers give zero fucks - multinational corporations just are like that.
This problem is many orders of magnitude larger than you realize. It's practically unsolvable at this scale.

CZcams can suck it. I've always watched you on twitch and I give support when I can, but CZcams has never and will never get a dime out of me for this very reason. It's the most ridiculous thing and it pisses me off seeing hardworking and dedicated creators like you getting thrown under the bus with no way to refute it.

It’s weird though. Twitch is arguably worse with its higher ups, especially considering that the moderators are basically disconnected from the rest of business, yet CZcams will enroll insane business tanking policies on a moments notice as well as pull this shit.

I had a similar thing happen. Blocked video from days after releasing, strike and instant fear the channel and work would be gone 😭
Honestly, it's a miracle this doesn't happen to everyone more often than it does. Viewers always get bent out of shape whenever this type of thing happens, which is pretty reasonable, but they are actually trying their best to make their users happy. It's just an impossibly complex problem that's effectively unsolvable at a scale like this. Glad you're back, and I'm sure they'll remove the strike.
I feel your pain. I never had an issue with any social media from their inceptions until 2019..... after that I have been dinged for multiple violations and no answers as to why. The customer service on these platforms is a joke at best. Keep up what you do!

Apologies to hear about this Samus. I do think it is better to stream over to Twitch if CZcams decides to ban you with the same rule and putting your channel at risk even further. I do respect Spinefarm records for being by your side and giving you credit from your honesty and your difficult to digest words about CZcams. More record labels should've been able listen to feedback like that if any copyrighted issues has been addressed.

I feel your pain brother... the YT guidelines are basically implemented by "feelings" if you do or say something that hurts someones poor feelings or they are having a bad day they will just mess with you... what people dont understand is that getting a strike is scary as hell when you make a living on YT... they will actually start going thru past videos and start striking videos from years ago... 3 strikes and your channel is taken down and thats a wrap

If Twitter has taught me anything, it's that people _do_ care. I've seen people use Twitter to organize a mass false flag campaign to get a channel vaporized over hurt feelings. They abuse CZcamss bot system to get things taken down immediately knowing it will take days (if ever) for a real person to finally take a look at it.
If nobody truly cared, then there wouldn't be a problem to begin with. That's why the rules are vague as fuck. They want to be able to punish people without having to explain themselves. That's how dictatorships work.

I was posting the entire Woodstock festival. Chose not to monetize it. Once it started picking up views, YT decided to monetize it themselves by sticking ads on them. This resulted in 92 strikes in under 5 minutes and a lifetime ban from even using it. No appeal because of the amount of strikes. And I lost every bit of content including self published, self wrote, self produced, self performed songs. Years of work gone. So remember.... It can always be worse.

That sounds like a successful lawsuit in the making. They already do a bunch of things that fly in the face of copyright law, all it will take is for people to band together and hold them accountable. In your case: their decision, their mistake. CZcams does not own your content (no matter how they may try to spin it), it was not their call to make, since you chose to not monetize the video to specifically avoid that problem. I'm sure this issue has affected hundreds of other creators.
CZcams Facebook and Tik Tok are all the same. You can’t depend on it as a source of income. My wife is monetized through Facebook in the reels program. She was hitting her limit in a week then she got invited to the Ad program which was nice. Then it happened some hater mass reported some of her videos. She got banned for 90 days for her first violation. After the 90 days were up she got it back made her money in the first week and then bam violated again. Cause of one jealous person. That messes with a persons life when someone does that just because they’re a petty miserable person.
100% accurate, they straight up detele one of my channels, and they let you appeal, but rarely that works out
"Imagine you leave your house and you get arrested, and you're not even told what you are arrested for." - This happens. I know this comes as a shock to some, but this genuinely happens.

This sucks for sure. A similar thing happened to me on Facebook trying to advertise. No amount of trying would get them to tell me why they removed my ad for breaking their guidelines, it made zero sense. Where is YOUR protection? If you're earning a living from YT you should have rights like any other employee, like them having to tell you what you did before they can simply ban you. As a big fan of Sleep Token (mostly due to the drumming) I would have loved to have seen that stream too.

I’ve never had a strike against my channel but I have had the exact same conversation with CZcams about other things, lol
I to have the same experience with YT . Except my stream didn't gets shut down I just had the channel strike. Also had a Bryan Adam song eight years back.on my channel to be removed. It was one of my most views on my channel. Now I got to make a different version. All that time and work wasted. I do look at copyright songs list to see what songs I can play on CZcams.

Unreal, I was trapped in a similar hellish loop with Bell recently - spoke to 3 different people each time having to re-explain the entirety of the situation. I feel for you...great vid tho!
Absolutely accurate. They deleted a video that was 1) marked as adult content and 2) set on private sharing. It was a video of my and my pals at age 14 or so and one had a cigarette. Was this the reason? Nobody could tell!
This makes sharing those more than 30 year old video tapes worthless.

Sheesh. I love and very much appreciate the content that musicians like you put into stuff that entertains me on CZcams. But I have come to despise CZcams's extremely poor handling of situations like this. Several of my favourite channels have encountered this sort of thing, sadly. If all my favourite CZcamsrs were on Nebula I wouldnt bother with CZcams any more. All the best!
"Due process" has never been part of the vocabulary of private companies. For content creators, it's best to lobby in Congress for protective statutes; especially when the platform is provided by a company who has monopoly (or dominant position). Oh well... Most of us are glad that you are back...👍😁
Similar thing happened to me on Instagram a while back. It's nuts, like something out of a Kafka novel. If they've taken you down for a specific point, it really shouldn't be that hard for them to just specify which point.

It was like watching "Asterix and the 12 tasks". Specifically, the eighth task where they attempt to get a permit document from a multi-storey bureaucratic building.
I feel this, apparently I commented something somewhere that hurt someone's feelings, and i got a 24 hour comment ban. Not the same at all, but it was annoying, and they wouldn't tell me which comment it was, but I probably said someone was being psycho or something and they got triggered.

I'm not a streamer, but Ive watched Ludwig the youtuber livestream and when he watches a trailer or listens to a song with copyright, Ive seen him bring up his Streamlabs or whatever he uses, and it actually says 'Warning: Copyright Material detected' and then he turns off the song before he gets a strike. So I wouldnt expect you to have emails up while streaming but having whatever program he uses would be a good idea.
can you find out from him what this is??

Sorry that happened to you man. I’ve seen other content creators have similar experiences with CZcams support. A couple of those creators were able to obtain an actual support rep (yes, a real person) that allow them to bypass the normal support system. Maybe that is something you can look into. Surely your channel is big enough.

This is too on point. I had the same issue with facebook market place. I made an ad for a room for rent. Next day I try and check how many views I got and then saw I had been blocked from market place for violating community guidelines. I also appeal to them to ask what I did wrong and just kept getting told you violated community guidelines... to this day I'm still banned from marketplace. Can only imagine how crap this must be for him because this is his livelihood
