@@ALMAX65 You notice they told him to go backstage and then he comes out again. Guess what? That wasn't 1 minute later. That was a while later. In which he got his music and they miked him and probably let him warm up in back. Now hopefully you get it.
They also told him he'd be miked as a 'random' person to catch comments made during the show, I believe.
He finishes the song and just looks right at his kids and his family.. like they're the only thing he sees. Hit me hard man, hit me real hard. I'm speechless.

@@pdoylemi it was a very surprising performance for Him. Dealing with the situation when he always avoided performing his songs in public was a huge challenge. He has enormous potential and an extraordinary voice. In my eyes he is already a star.

Whenever there's a time when a person finishes singing and there's dead silence, it means that people are so amazed and emotional, they can't even breathe, let alone applaud.
I totally agree! There was absolute and total silence that was deafening! The only thing louder was the roar of the crowd when they finally collected themselves and realized what they just witnessed. BRAVO DAD!!!

Don't worry everything will be ok. I went through the same thing, when I meet my daughter's future husband, I let him know the consequences of what would happen if he ever got out of line with my daughter. 15 years on, my daughter still tells me how much she is in love with my son-in-law. I am so lucky to have such a great guy who loves my daughter as much as I do.

As a father of 4 children, 3 of them girls, this was so touching and beautiful. The bond between a Father and his daughter(s) is something extremely special. 💟
It's something that can't be explained. I have 2 daughters. It's so true
And to see the adoring look in those little girls' eyes while daddy sang to them, wow !!!

The greatest accolade is that NO ONE - in the audience or at the judge's table - interrupted with applause nor shouting AND the very moving delay after the end before the start of the applause, shouting & standing ovation.
I'm glad that somebody caught that. It's something that I believe Simon has called the perfect silence. He has sucked everybody in with his singing and his songwriting and emotionally. The audiance just don't want to leave even when the song is done.
I've never seen that before ever, it was just absolutely mad to see!
Nick I've watched several of your other version of this song. Even studio versions. This is by far the best. It was unexpected, raw and so heartfelt, I have watch it again and again. Bless you Dad.
