- My first highly medium DJ set that I had a lot of fun making. Hope you find something to enjoy, and if you're trawling the internet trying to talk yourself into buying an entry-level controller (like I was 2 weeks ago), do it!
#herculesdj #djuced #edm #dj #beatmatch #godthisishard
Just got this as my first deck couple of months ago and is so much fun! It seems like i would go through same stages as you did during your mix (including the accidental stop of the track XD). Thanks for the video :)
Well done mate, good choice on controller. the Inpulse 500 is a cracking little thing!!
Everybody is talking about getting the serato pro software so its nice to see the djuce getting some recognition😁
Great first mix. My parents are getting me a ddj sb3 for Christmas so I’m gonna use your don’t look down transition
Awesome! If I can answer any questions, let me know. Show us your mixes when it's time 👍🏼
This deserves a follow
Well done dude, keep practising and having fun with it. Good job!
Thank you so much!
Late night trawling CZcams waiting for DJUCED to download wondering if I should give this a go and I gotta say what you did with the two Zedd songs was magic - those were some pinnacle songs of my early 20s :')
Awww, thanks. Me too! Really glad you liked it. Hope you can give the DJing game a try - it's really fun.
Great job! If you ever decide to upgrade, I'd recommend the Numark mixtrack platinum fx with it's built-in jogwheel display, longer tempo fader & a dedicated fx section.
that would be a downgrade.......
That’s fab bro , i like your mix 👍
Thank you so much for listening!
I enjoyed it ❤
Congrats bro 🤜
I'm so glad! Thanks for listening 🤛🏻
Just ordered my Inpluse 500 today. excited to get going on my DJ journey I've been wanting to do this forever and I finally pull the trigger . Keep it up man. Where do you get your music from? Beatport Link, Beatsource etc? Thanks for the information in advance
I'm so excited for you! Hope you have tons of fun. Ping me if you have questions. I have a new mix on my channel that I didn't annotate, but hopefully it'll still hype you up. You made a good choice 👍🏻
Bpm supreme has rlly good music and make sure u use serato dj. Bc when u upgrade to a different deck you will have to move to something else than djuced. I made that mistake and didnt start with serato lol
@@lv_ranger3708 I feel that aswell I started on inpulse 300 on djuiced but swiftly moved to denon dj mc 7000s on serato and had to learn that
I’am buy my 500 next week. it looks so awesome thanks for your time and reviews .
I also just got an Inpulse 500 and P32 DJ controllers. I've always wanted to DJ ever since the 1st time I went 2a club many moons ago. I suffer with three autoimmune diseases one of them being the most painful disease known to man and one of my ways of keeping my mind distracted is music. I'm disabled in a wheelchair and I was looking on Twitch and time across a bloke using a controller with his nose and mouth because he had no arms and legs. And that inspired me to get my controllers. But I can't seem to get my headphones to work with the cue on my desktop PC. Are you using Windows or mac and which versions and what settings do you have for your audio?
Nice mix i also have an have an inpulse. Keep playing around with it. Ive had it for a year and im still finding out the full power of the controller. Its a great beginner controller good luck in future endeavors
Woow, great job! Nice done. There will be time to come to me.
Thank you so much! And thanks for listening.
Good job, keep grindin'
I'll do what I can 🙏🏻
Great job!! Nice mix
Nice bro!
Thank you so much! Thanks for watching/listening.
太棒了🌟
谢谢!!
Just a little bit of criticism on the part where u forgot to fade out try not to kill it that quick I've found that even just fading out slowly or echoing out and killing it sounds much nicer than just a sudden cut. speaking of echos the part where u had a echo out still try to fade in the next song rather than it be at full volume to begin with doesn't have to be long maybe 2-3 seconds of fading up will make it sound much smoother. But overall good set Great job
Hi there, how did you set it up so that you can only hear the pre-listen through headphones? With me you can even hear it when recording and even in the live stream.
Where do you stream the songs to create a playlet? Beatport, beatsource and etc..?
Hey @Ben Stein do you know why at 4:09 the tempo goes slighty off without you changing the pitch fader?
Very nice set, i want to get into DJaying myself but still can't decide between the Pioneer DDJ-400 and the Hercules Inpulse 500. Are you happy with your choice and why did you choose the Hercules? I heard that you cant use FX effects and the Filter knob at the same time. Is that a big problem?
I hope you can help me there a little bit :)
Hey! I totally understand struggling with this decision, as I had similar difficulty. I actually wrote a huge blogpost for a subreddit about why I ended up with the Inpulse 500 and how it's going:
benstein.io/blog/2021/9/30/inpulse-500-buyers-guide
TL;DR - The build quality of the Inpulse 500 is clearly better to me than most other $300 options, and I really wanted something that felt reliable and fun to use. It also has more inputs/outputs, which are useful if you plan to do gigs. However, the DDJ-400 gets you access to Pioneer's software "Rekordbox DJ", which is apparently very very good, and it doesn't have the weird FX problem that the Inpulse 500 has. The DDJ-400 is also $50 cheaper if that matters to you.
Also, yes, the filter knobs on the Inpulse 500 are also used to apply effects in Serato, which is a bummer. If you use Hercules' DJUCED software, they can apply both the filter and an effect, but never just an effect. It's bizarre. I actually think the Numark Mixtrack Platinum Pro FX has the best effects implementation at this price point.
I would say that if you think it's likely you'll be DJing for a long time, start from the DDJ-400 and make sure you're enjoying yourself, then try to move up to a flagship controller like the DDJ-1000 or an all-in-one like the XDJ-XZ if you like being away from your computer. Feel free to email me at ben.s.stein@gmail.com if you have more questions! Have fun, good luck!
@@jammerware thanks alot for that nice and detailed answer :) actually here in germany I can get the Inpulse 500 (240€) for less than the DDJ-400 (270€) That doesnt make the decision easier for me :-/ I mean the only down side really is the strange way how the effects and Filter works on the Hercules but its quite a big problem I guess.
I read your blog post and now Im more on the DDJ 400 side again :D I planned to use Djuced because I dont want to instantly spend so much extra money on Serato Pro, but I I see the problems you mentioned and I think Rekordbox is superior here.
Wish I had a store nearby where I could test them both and decide if the better build quality, size and feel of the Hercules is really that important.
So, I found an offer for the DDJ-400 for 240€. Will be delivered next week :-)
@@hannes5633 Awesome! Link your mix here when you make one ;) Good luck and have fun!
@@hannes5633 Hey, having the same problem. Inpulse 500 or DDJ-400.
Are you happy with your choice? Could need advice here. By the way...also from Germany ;-)
How do you get past the copyright laws when you dj?
Come si realizza un video così?
