I am super happy that I saw ur video, I just saw it this morning here in Switzerland and immediately went to LV shop to ask if they can repair my Noe which is more than 30yrs old. I am super happy really and I got a quote that I will pay 630 Swiss Francs and that I need to wait approximately 2mths. I hope I will get my Noe earlier than expected time. Cant wait to have a new vachetta and looks like a new bag. The old canvass of LV is really durable so having the bag repaired is a good investment.
I'm happy too! I figured I'd share the info, because LV has raised their prices for new bags substantially but their new canvas isn't as durable as the vintage. Thank you for the support!
I went to LV the other day and they quoted 1070 for replace all the leather for the Noe, crazy! I am glad you repaired when you did.
Louis Vuitton does not put date codes in bags or accessories any longer. They now use a electronic chip that only they can detect to authenticate their items.
whenever LV does a repair, they remove and do not replace the date code if it was on the part to be repaired.
For the date code they said they dont put date codes anymore on the new or repaired bags, they said its data is computerized now.

I don't think they can't backdate stamp. It's an interesting question since the canvas date is so much older than the leather. I'm sure LV didn't stamp it for some reason... would love to hear if you ever got an answer. Either way, well done on the total cost... bag looks showroom from the outside :)

They could have put a chip in it. That’s what they put in the new bags. You can download an app and scan it until you find it. There are CZcams videos on it.
Maybe they put a chip in the bag instead. Louis Vuitton used chips now instead of the date code

Hey, that’s what’s up! Next time before purchase just make sure there are no cracks in the canvas, otherwise they may not want to repair.

They don’t do date codes anymore, plus you got all new leather and that’s where the date code is ( I doubt they would back date a date code ). But it’s looks really nice 👍🏽 like brand new !congrats!

Beautiful bag! Are you still enjoying your bag? I recently purchased a vintage 1993 noe gm. I paid more because the leather is in great shape. But still got a good deal. ❤❤The only thing that shows wear is the top trim so i may consider having that replaced. This noe gm might be my favorite LV style.

I took my vintage Noe bag to get repaired at LV in Bloomingdale’s beginning of the month to replace all the vachetta and it’s in the process of being repaired right now. The estimated price for the repair is $330. I also too my vintage Sac Platt to get the lining inside replaced which will also cost $330 which is half of what I was quoted back in 2018. I think the price difference is because it’ll be repaired in states vs sending it back to France? Can’t wait to get both back soon,
Interesting I wonder if that’s the case as well. I would’ve preferred it be fixed in the states for a lower price lol.

Hi, no I didn't pay or give a credit card until I went to pick the bag up, after the repair. When I dropped the bag off, they just gave me an invoice, with the pickup date and the estimated cost.

Yeah you'll definitely loose it, but i talked to a consignment shop and they said just keep all your receipts if you think there's a chance you may want to sell the bag later on.
I had the leather on my epi petite noe replaced and they took the date code. It was sad.

That a good question! I honestly don't know, I've heard that the newer bags are micro chipped now a days. You could use a third party company, that will appraise your bag, guarantees their authenticity findings, and will send you a certificate or an authenticity card. i just bought one off a resale site it was just like this a redo no serial number , i returned it. because if i want to resell no one will buy it with no date code or chip. not a good buy . you can buy a fake and say its real. for me no brainer returm not spending $1500 on no warranty bag.
You lose the date code when the bag is repaired.

I contacted Louis Vuitton and they quoted me 960$ plus tax I’m not sure if I want to do it at that price. I thought it would be 660$
Prices have definitely gone up for repairs. I just had my GM business bag completely repaired for a whopping 1300.00. That’s the highest I’ve paid for a repair. Usually everything has been 660 or in the 780.00.
They just had a price increase for repair parts in July 2022.

Good question, it never crossed my mind to have it changed, and they never offered it as an option for that bag. I definitely would’ve done it if it was brought up. I honestly don’t think it would’ve cost more than an additional $200. It cost $125 for a smaller bag that I have.
U can always bring it back someday…for the liner

I got two bags from Japan how do I authenticate them with seller?
Ask for pictures if you havent purchased yet. You can use a third party I have one linked in the description with a discount code that Ive been using for years. Or youll have to do your research, there are ways to tell by looking at the texture, monograms, logos etc. Once you find out the name of the bag you can google authentic images and compare.
I’m sending in my vintage GM Reporter and they charging me $660 also to replace all the leather on the outside and strap. I feel the same way, not in a hurry to pay. 😂🤗. Tfs.

This particular bag doesn't have a lining, its just the back side of the canvas.
The date code is very important. Is it under the inner pocket? I just bought an LV Speedy 40 Jan 1990 that is immaculate like it's been packed away. The thing is, someone copied the Graffiti logo on it exactly, they've had to as the Graffiti didn't come out officially until 2001 in the 30. But, it makes the bag gorgeous.

Once you get an lv repair you lose your date code. Call the store to ask why.
