She’s in her teen years and once your in your teen years you start figuring out your parents aren’t those cool people you knew when you were younger. And when Riley sees that she’s not cool at school she starts to eliminate the things that don’t make her cool. Which are her parents. That’s why her statue was moved
Exactly! It's completely normal. It doesn't mean that her parents aren't important to her or that she has problems with them, it just means that she's growing up and drifting away from her parents being her sole influence

I actually asked my therapist about this and she suggested that the emotions are essentially a role. Like for example, I asked how Joy could get sad when she's supposed to be the embodiment of happiness, and my therapist said that being "Joy" is essentially like a job title, so she's still able to feel other emotions outside of the one she controls
That still begs the question of if they also have tiny versions of themselves controlling *THEIR* emotions, but it's probably best not to get into that-
